If you're will to deviate a bit from the standard ISO size, one could add an extra tilting collection/distribution auger (a few small ducts with a hopper on one end and a vacuum on the other) or incorporate it into the build sacrficing a bit of storage and it could transfer crabs up to the sellpoint vacuum end and the pod can sit in the water as long as you want it to.
Dude... This is brilliant. I can pot fish with my cargo helicopter with this....
I wonder if you could set up something similar to this where it just sits off the dock next to the vacuum with the pots set to cycle between dump and no dump and just continuously sell crabs as fast as you can gather them?
Big brain crab company making big brain move
They do have tags, they just are named differently from what you think. But this is a very good video!
We need more tags then. Lol
@@ProfNCognito That might be them right below the cost of the part on the "inventory" screen in build mode. 4:29
you should make it spawn right under the fish seller so it sells the crabs automaticly
i wish the build area went that far with out xml ing it
@@ProfNCognito then you should put some wheels on it or something to move and a long hopper that emerges out of the water and connect with the fish seller
My terrible crab boat I mentioned in another video’s comments, I’ve been redoing a few things to see if I could get it to perform better. I did make progress and tried a few new techniques with some systems, but I ended up deciding to start from scratch. This design is an interesting concept and I’m thinking I might adopt it in place of my davit-style cranes. I’m thinking build the ship around a massive one of these and use winches to lower and raise it from the middle of the ship. No craning it over the side of the ship; straight up and down.
I dig the idea of having one or more containers in the middle of your ship with winches that can just lower them directly to the sea floor. Recovery might be a little fiddly, but.
@@stevepittman3770 I’ll test it eventually. I see it being a problem in less calm water, but I think it would do okay in calmer waters
Thanks for the video
i'd say use clock that activated every two days
i always for get about the clock as a thing we can use.
Or simple microcontroller hooked to one hopper and one pot. If the hopper isn't full and the pot is over 40, then dump all pots until they're empty. The 40 gives a buffer in case some pots that aren't monitored have higher amounts. The dump amount is doesn't affect the catch rate, so it just dumps more often without affecting catch rate.
shouldve tried with a constant on and let the go straight into hopper? keep active as well?
i tried that right after i finished recording and it wont collect crabs unfortunatly. i got a work around for it already tho.
@@ProfNCognito when i was messing with using lures to get fish to swim into hoppers it felt like there was a max rate the hoppers could take at a time.
also maybe use a threshold so if one it pot it hits release. maybe having release active turns off generation of crabs
@@ProfNCognito My first thought was some kind of duty cycle to switch it into dump mode and back out occasionally, but I'm curious what you came up with.
i was working on something like this but its super big and laggy and we already have like 4mil so we dont really need to crabfish anymore lol
Nice Video 😀
it feels like cheating
