Thank you so much for making chemistry so easy and understandable. My past teacher made me to hate the subject but i am now growing fond of it, all thanks to you sir..
Someone help- I have a question, instead of a cracking reaction, could I first do a substitution reaction to a halo alkane then do a elimination (dehalogenation) reaction to get the alkene. What I mean is CH₃-CH₂-CH₂-CH₂-CH₃ + Cl₂ reacting under UV light to give CH₃-CH(Cl)-CH₂-CH₂-CH₃ + HCl. We have a HCl so that it is balanced. This product is called 2-chloropentane. Treat the haloalkane (2-chloropentane) with a strong base like NaOH (alcoholic) or KOH (alcoholic) under heat. This results in the removal of HCl and the formation of an alkene. Reaction: CH₃-CH(Cl)-CH₂-CH₂-CH₃ → alc. KOH, heat CH₂=CH-CH₂-CH₂-CH₃ + HCl It transforms an alkane to alkene and before instead of the presence of H2 gas we have HCl present?
Hii Kelvin Sorry To Ask This Under Types Of Reactions... But I Wanted To Know Which One Will Have The High Boling Point Between 2-MethylButane And Butane??❤
Congrats on 100k sir ,you deserve this
Can't wait for the cracking of Alcohol video where the one molecule will ask for OH from another because it really wants to become an alcoholic.
Hahaha :)
I've learned more here in the past 2 days than I've learned in school in the past 2 months
This video was very helpful!
Loved how you explained thermal and Catalyst cracking 🙏🙏🙏

pls do acid and base...you make things easier 👏👌

Hi Sir
On the reaction of cracking do I have to known all methods or must I just go with the one I understand?
both
Damn I just found this channel & im writing Tom 😦
Same 🥲
@@Anc283same 😭
for reaction 7 so what is the final reaction product??

butane will be higher because 2-methylbutane has a branch meaning that the IMFs are easier to break
@@kayanjaga2441true,this is influenced by the larger distance between the molecules
Hy Kelvin am also a teacher can we collaborate
