Depending on how you're playing the game, it's barely worth it to save for new heroes, especially non hh, because you can just force those with convert points. And it's highly unlikely people have enough fodder or gold souls on hand to make new heroes week 1 anyway. It's tough times right now, and the slow hero release schedule is tricky to work around. The high part of it is, because p3 are so long to make, there's still a lot of potential meta changes out there to discover still, such as drow being good for boss damage.
120 is a rough estimate of how much you get in a 24 hr span of mostly offline idle. Fast idle is an extra 2 hrs on top of that and is not included in the 120, as how many you get varies by your vip level. If you active idle on the battle screen, you will get slightly higher currency for approx 1 hr, after which time event currency stops dropping and you should stick to offline for the rest of the day.

Ok so now im facing another problem which is gold souls what is the best way and fastest way to get them?
Extra sweeps of den and buying from shop is all you can do. If you have a massive excess of fodder, you can fuse and fodder 6* heroes as well
