I bought the X1 Sealight bulbs for my 2022 GMC Canyon AT4 like you installed on your truck. I was not satisfied with the SeaLiight X1 low beams so I bought the X2 fan cooled version and they are absolutely spectacular. Way brighter and much more down range powerful. The X2 versions have much more projection power and I'd say they are 50% more brighter. They are fan cooled of course but that's okay with me, I'm very satisficed with the X2's and just as easy to install.
Thank you for scripting, photographing and producing this incredibly informative and helpful step-by-step video. Closely followed each well planned and explained movement. Guessin' it took me a bit longer than most. Was rewarded "to-the-max" when seeing the incredible lighting improvement. Awesome video! Thank you!
Someone below commented the same thing. The truck has to be outside of Park for them to come on. So in Drive or Reverse, or maybe even neutral, the DRL should come on.
@@ConnorsCorner1 , K, I was assuming they would be the daylight lights by default, my LED's headlights come on during the day, thought it would be the strip LED's, see other vehicles where the strip is on during the day
Thanks!! This process worked on my 2021 Canyon. Only concern I have is the ballast not staying stuck to the inside of the housing and dangling free at some point.
Thank you for this very helpful video. I ordered the same lights and installed them yesterday. They are great and the look is so much better. Thank you!!
They look great! I just installed morimoto 2stroke 3.0s in my 2018 Canyon low beam and they don't work. Well they do in park but as soon as I put it into drive they go out. Trying to reach the co I got them from now. Any suggestions?
Not really sure. People on the forums seem to have difficulty with them, but they got rhe bulbs without the CANBUS portion. Some also mentioned they needed some anti-flicker option? Those are nice bulbs, so I would expect them to work perfectly.
@@ConnorsCorner1 Everyone needs to understand that the power an LED uses is way, way, less than any other bulb, so the way it gets its power is also different, another reason for the resistor (canbus), in the LED bulb wiring... You have to match what an LED bulb needs or it will possibly flicker and drive everyone nuts or not work at all..
I was hoping you might remember a few things about this install. I just bought these and had a few questions about about some things… Did the High Beams LED’s have a bit of play when you rotated them in? Mine have a slight wobble compared to the factory lights that were very snug. Interestingly the low beam LED’s were very snug as expected. And have you had any issues with heat and melting? I read reviews for some people that said they got so hot their wires were melting or housing has melted a bit. Some people also mentioned flickering.
Thank you for a great, well thought out, perfect lighting, camera work and video.. You did a great job! Can you please tell us if the Low Beams Light Output down the road in the dark is the same as the Halogens you took out ?? I drive a lot at night and need the Low Beams to reach out as far as possible, before I have to use the high beams.. Sometimes, high beams are so bright, they light up Every Reflective highway sign on the side of the road, so this is why I want the Low Beams to be really out there as much as possible.. Thank you again !
@@ConnorsCorner1 Thank you for your reply !!! You said your bulbs do not have the fan on them, are you worried about them overheating and not lasting as long? Are they still working great? They sure looked great !! Thanks for all your hard work and help !
The ones I linked in the description are the ones I bought, they fit perfect. The headlights on the 21s are the same as all the other 2nd gen years, so they'll fit. They just haven't VERIFIED that they fit the 21s, so they say they don't fit. Same goes for all lights you find, if they list fitment 2015-2020 but not 2021, then they will fit.
so i installed some aftermarket h11 LED bulbs for my low beams in my 2021 canyon, now in gear instead of the DRL coming on, only my low beams come on. so i guess they are not compatible with cars with DRL or they just suck all the power or something. do these do the same thing. or does the DRL bars still function properly?
On the edge of the clip, there should be 2 divot's (little cut outs). Use a small flat head in 1 of those to pry the center section out, and then you can pull the whole clip out.
@@ConnorsCorner1 Thats the hardest part of the entire process in my opinion. Just did this tonight and the plastic tube took me the longest to do. I left the horn on also. 2 plastic tabs and the T15/20 removal and the plastic liner bends forward to get your hands in there.
@@ConnorsCorner1 Hmm. Guess I'll drive it a little while and see if anything changes. My quick garage test did not work. I had the amber running lights but no low output headlights coming on.
Just an update in case anyone sees this later. I'm an idiot and didn't realize that being in park or having the e brake on will disable the headlight portion of the drls. The amber will stay on but the DRL headlights actually come on once you shift out of park. At least this is the case on my 2017.
I like the way you trimmed that air damn down. Looks a lot better. Did you make a video/link or instructions on how you did that? I’d like to trim mine.
Yep, just not a ton, I would say 10% MAYBE 15% brighter than stock. They're worth it just to get rid of the yellow IMO. If you want great light output, you're going to have to pay for it. The GTR bulbs are insanely good, but are also $100 each. I wasn't ready to spend that.
@@safespaceinvader8065 I got the ones without the fan. Typically that style have clearance problems with the caps on the lights, which is why I opted for the heatsink only
Yep! The extra bed hooks, cheap and easy. Trim / remove the air dam, on the 21's it's way easier than previous years. I plan on doing some LED lights in the bed as well, the truck already have a plug behind the taillight that's is powered when the upper bed light is on. Just some small piddly stuff.
So my dad’s looking for led bulbs better than the halogens on his 21 at 4 canyon. Are these really good and better and are they really bright

Are all 21-22 Canyon owners stuck with the unserviceable factory LED fog lights?
Than you. Just changed mine out on my 2022 Canyon Denali. It was as easy as you made it look.
Amazingly helpful video . Looks great on mine . I didn’t have to unplug the horn I just sort of pushed it off to the side and it worked
Glad it helped

does your DRL flicker? if not and works properly, is it running at 30% brightness or 100%?

It SHOULD fit, being that the refresh isn’t until the 2023 model.

For real. It's 2021 for crying out loud, put some modern lights in it! Luckily it isn't super hard to swap with good bulbs. Thanks for the kind words.
