On my work computer I had to make myself set a uBlock Origin filter to remove the hot network questions on stack overflow. But if I end up on electronics, super user, web dev stack exchange etc, I'm screwed.

This is allegedly useful when writing programs with different versions of commonly used stuff like glibc/node etc. On a related note, you can declare all the development dependencies of a project you're working on (i.e. cargo and rustc when in a Rust project), so that whenever someone (or you in the future, on another device) wants to work on the project, they automatically get all of the stuff installed. You can even pin the exact Git revisions of every dependency, and exactly that will be downloaded. This way you can make sure that if everything has worked for you in the past, it will still work no matter how much time has since passed
