  • I've just moved my Qnique 15-inch longarm to my Q-Zone hoop frame! This machine has given me a lot more space and a wonderful stitch regulator to make all my stitches the same size and shape.

    I like how you were able to talk through the set up and tweaking of the frame bars. It does look like you have more fluid space to work in! Couldn’t help but notice a glow about you in this video ~ you seem so happy! I hope you are having a great Spring as we get ready to welcome summer fun! Thanks for some good tips👍

    It does make such a difference using a long arm on the q zone. I see you have also had the idea of basting your quilting space it works so well. Love the light bar light is so important.

      I'm trying the basting as a method for keeping the quilt straight across the frame. I still haven't decided if it's 100% necessary, but I think it does help. Still testing!

      Thank you Karen! I'm still working on Pantos on this frame and they are working on me! It's taking time to figure out the best method to keep the design consistent. I'm going to try basting next and hopefully that will be the ticket.

    Thank you Leah for sharing. I'm hoping in the next few months to purchase a long arm machine to go with my q-zone hoop frame. It is nice to see how much difference there is between the domestic and long arm machine.

      There's a lot of pluses, but a few minuses too. I can't do super spirals on a longarm, or really travel stitch to save my life! But I can quilt open all-over style designs a lot faster and that is helping me finish so many old quilt tops!

    Leah, I am new to my qnique 21 xl pro. I am trying to do a pantograph, but first basting the back, and my top thread keeps breaking. My bobbing thread has bee tested and is fine. And I have loosened up my top tension. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong! Help please!

    I know this is old but a question please; do you have your front bar extended out as far as it can go? I don’t have the quilting space that you have and I have a 15 pro machine.

      Great Cheryl! Yes, the front bar extends so you have more space. You can expand it even further on this frame to accommodate a Qnique 19 too.

    Hi Leah, I purchased the QZone Pro Frame from you and I'm looking to purchase the Qnique 15 inch pro in a couple of months. What are your thoughts on spray basting the quilt.s Thank You for all your videos. Linda Evans

      We're phasing out that machine, so I'd either purchase it now, or plan to get a new Qnique 16X or 16X Elite which have just launched this month.

    What length are you able to go with the q zone frame and the 15 before having to move to next zone.

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  Рік тому +1

      I remember having around 30 inches of horizontal space before needing to shift and re-clamp. The wheels take up more space than the home machine carriage which causes you to have less space on the sides.

    I love my Grace Luminess but a bulb has burned out. I can't find instructions how to remove and replace the bulb. The light is about two years old and I was expecting it to last longer.

    Thank you again for information. I have benefited significantly from watching your QZone Frame videos. I bought the QZone frame and have a Brother PQ 1500 SL. It has a 9 inch space. By the time I get to the bottom of a full size quilt, I struggle. I have about 3 inches of space to use. I do not think I could ever do a king-size or even a queen size. This being the case, I am considering getting a Continuim frame and setting it up half-size (I have read you can do this) and then get the Qunique 15-inch longarm. I will just send out my bed-size quilts until I find room to set up the Continuim frame at its full length. I wish I would have had found this solution prior to buying the QZone and the Bother 9 inch machine. What do you think about this solution?

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  5 років тому

      I think that's a great idea Sandra. One possibility is just upgrading your machine for right now. I've been really happy with the almost 12 inches I have to quilt in on the Q-Zone with my Qnique 15R / 14+.
      As for changing to the Continuum, I think the better thing to do is consider your space first. That is the bigger issue to solve, then order your frame because otherwise you will have half a frame to stash somewhere in your home too!
