Thanks for your support!
i just pickuped up a peach VVS. First impressions are the good: The tone's are really nice. Better than most other budget strats. Neck rod adjustment is easy due to easy access below the neck.
The Bad: The neck is very thick. Thicker than any other strat guitar Ive played. Also, the overall size is very small compared to others and its quite heavy for its size. It looks like a junior sized guitar.
Yes, this very much a, "Whay could have been" guitar. Great idea, not great execution. Maybe too ambitious for the budget.
Did u keep it? I bought the GTM-01 in December at 169.00 it has similar pickup options. Been happy with mine, on that note I did not pull off the backplate!
No, I sent it back. I am getting a large collection of cheap guitars and I have to be a little more selective of what I keep. This one had issues that I couldn't overlook. For the money, still a pretty good guitar. The rail humbuckers made it hard to let go.
FYI Epiphone has their own factory in China.
If you've ever watched Phillip McKnight's channel, he always takes apart guitars and checks them out. There has been, on more than one occasion, when he was inspecting the parts of a na name Chinese made guitar that had Epiphone parts in it. He stated they share a factory with Epiphone. I take his word for it.
@@MotorRoseMusic Alright, they SAY they have their own factory in China.
It could be it's their factory that they share with other makers. Let's go with that.
Thanks for the review! I'm still kinda obsessed with ordering one of these (although it'll be around $400 landed in my country). I like the shape, neck, paint and pickup configuration. Thought the PUPs sounded good. Do you think you might order another one?
Thanks for watching and commenting! I'm not sure yet if I'll order another. It was a really interesting guitar, but I may go with something else - as an added bonus I can review another guitar.
Don't they are junk! Better options from Yamaha, Squier or Schecter!!!
Thanks for watching Wayne!!
@@MotorRoseMusic I sent 3 back, 2 the same model as the one you are reviewing and I can't remember the model name of the other but it had a green quilted maple print! The quilted one sounded terrible and was full of dings and flaws with a neck like a baseball bat! The other 2 like yours sounded okay but one had serious fret sprout and a crack behind the neck near the headstock. And the other one had a twisted neck! But some people have been lucky! But I certainly wouldn't go near one again! Best wishes to you!
If you watched the video you know I sent this one back. Thanks for the comments, they really help the channel!
Looks like Bondo in the cavity.
I’d send it back. If you like it have them replace it.👍🏻
It really sounds decent and interesting. I’m surprised.
I’m at the end.. I see that you sent it back...👊🏻
I have two Volgoa guitars: the TN2 and the 7 string. IMO they are one of the better super budget guitars out there. They do have some small things that may have to fixed really quick, but overall I think they are great. Example both of mine I had to scrape some paint/plating from the bridge to allow for better contact on the ground wire. They both needed new strings immediately. With the TN2, the neck humbucker is not parallel with the strings, angled forward slightly.
But I love the necks of the guitars. The finishes are amazing. Even though the humbuckers are quieter, I think they sound great overall.
Fatal flaws, like cracked wood, not cool though. I have seen similar things come from major brand too… like broken pickup selector and extremely warped necks.
Totally agree. I will probably give them another shot. In the end, I got a video out of it and returned it for a refund. No harm. Thanks for commenting and watching!
I have heard those pickups called Quadbuckers although I don't know if that is the accepted name.
I love that apricot colour!
Quadbuckers sounds like a perfect name! 🤘
Hey man, one more thing I wanted to ask you since you peeked under the hood. Was there any shielding in the cavity or on the pickguard? Thanks!
You know, I don't recall if the cavity was, there was no shielding under the pickguard, for sure. I could barely lift the pickguard up without having to remove the bridge.
@@MotorRoseMusic Thanks for the info, I guess most of these cheap guitars look better than they actually play! 😆
They are hit and miss. With Amazon I don't worry because the return policy is so good. If it weren't I wouldn't buy these cheaper guitars online. I'd have to have my hands on them. The WestCreek's I bought are 2 for 2 for great guitars.
Lots of body to the tone, very versatile tones imho.
Thanks, I appreciate that!
most bolt on necks have a back plate to support the wood from cracking, that is a must imo. otherwise nice design , thanks :)
I have 6 guitars, 5 with bolt on necks… none have a neck plate. They all use formed steel washers to displace the stress on the wood. The neck plate serves the same purpose, but just give a nifty place to have the company logo. Most Jackson, Ibanez, and Schecter guitars don’t use any neck plates. It allows for more freedom of forming a more ergonomic neck pocket for playing on the higher frets.
Good point as well.
Definitely return it.
I did. 👍
wow, they really took time creating that headstock, it is really hard to create something that awful
and that great puke cleaner pink.... awesome !!!!!! :)
🤣 Thanks for watching and commenting! You're right about the color!
What value does your comment make? Headstock is OK you don’t get to decide and if you don’t like it don’t buy it. What do you know bout a good guitar you are a forever budget guitar guy.
@@bluwng I'm not sure who you're referring to. I'm pretty sure he was just having some fun, nothing nefarious.
@@MotorRoseMusic the person who posted. Who gets to define what is fun, all I read is some insulting punk and what exactly does pretty sure mean?
