Champagne glass at the footy? You bloody betcha! I remember people bringing in slab’s of beer over their shoulders to games… This is when footy was real. People were real. I went to my first game in 1977 at the Junction oval, Fitzroy vs South Melbourne when I was eight years old.
I fell in love with the game on that day, lived it, breathed it, dreamed it…Until the AFL murdered my Roy Boys in 1996. Now I couldn’t give a stuff! I want to thank you GEZZA so much for all those awesome memories. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, but I just enjoyed it anyway.
Thank you once again for all those great memories. If you could post any more with Fitzroy in them I would be eternally thankful.
If I had just one wish I would ask to go back in time to the 1981 First Semi Final, Fitzroy vs Collingwood at the G. Even though we got done by one point in a finish that broke our all hearts it was the greatest game I ever witnessed…Go the Roys!

Yep... It was more a players game. Now its a coaches game, placing robots in their positions...
I went from 3 games a week to ONE game per Year... and only then if it was forced upon me !!!
Conmen run the game as a non profit organization and a one million dollar "wage" for doing so... Oh so noble !!!
