@@KC-zr1rd I had the Owens Corning Premium Duration installed like 2 years ago, even on my shed so it matches, stuff is thick, 50 year shingles, 20 year no leak, but if they are 50 year, why only 20 year no leak? I chose an Owens premium installer right from the Owens website, they did a fantastic job. ONE DAY complete tear off, including 8 new Velux skylights! in the back room, to replace the 30 year old Andersen(they don't do skylites anymore), I wanted a guy rated by the mfgs for both Velux, and Owens....they came with an army, about 9 guys, amazing coordination...new vents new fan...really great operation. Reading the specs Owens versus Certain Teed, Owens has that nailing strip material, lot of others don't...means stronger, and easier to get the nails in the correct spot. And it has that reflective granules to abate some heat build up, in the hot hot hot summer months..just had Hardie Board siding done front and back, different guys also found from Hardie Co. website top rated installers, fantastic job, that stuff is HEAVY, best siding , vinyl is crap..30 year warranty and 15 year on the factory paint finish, Hardie rated must use procedures like all ends painted after a cut, flashing between joints, they really made house look brand new, perfect flashing cuts on fascia and soffits, ARTISTS.
Someone please explain why they’re “venting the hips” with no vents holes cut!!! This guy has become a master of deception. Not saying this roof will leak, but It’s crazy that even the good ones are bad ones... :(
I love CertainTeeds products, but not this video... please explain the useless venting too no where along the ridges where nothing is cut and why it would make any sense to pull off all that siding just to stick the winter guard on the exterior of the Tyvek and not behind to allow proper water shedding... Icing on the cake is I can see the nail heads penetrating threw the shingles as he nails... which would actually mean this roof is not installed to the set standards set by the master shingler's booklet...
And this is how you overdo stuff that leads to global material shortages. Totally unnecessary prep work. If you know how to shingle right you don't need to go nuts underneath.
That's exactly right! It's the thousands of dollars underneath the roof your are trying to protect. Interior water damage and mold can be costly repairs!

I welcome CertainTeed to prove me wrong here but in my opinion from what I've read and heard talking to Certainteed's warranty dept, their shingle warranty is a joke. A clever sales/marketing gimmick to trick unsuspecting home owners like me. The roofing installer lead me to believe the (Landmark Pro) shingles are warrantied to last 50 years with the 4 star extended warranty and additional required underlay. Never said the warranty is for manufacturing defects only and not the life of the shingle which has no warranty. When I asked how they can do that, he said its figured out statistically and some other bs. In reality the shingles are not guaranteed/warrantied to last ANY length of time unless their tested to be defective by (you guessed it) Cerrtainteed. If they otherwise curl and disintegrate after 12 years, too bad. If by some miracle they last 45 years and then fail because of a defect, Certainteed will cover the complete cost to replace. Talk about a useless warranty. The 50 yr figure is absurd...may as well say 100 yr because the chance of them lasting anywhere near that long in average conditions and/or then failing because of a defect is near zero. The Landmark Pro shingles they installed are much lighter/thinner than the BP shingles they removed and I can't see them lasting more than 12-15 yrs. As always, buyer beware and read the reviews first like I should have.
Look how wrinkly the paper is look how wavy the cap and ridge vent is look how slow they are that's pretty pathetic bet you it took them 5 days with that many guys to do that roof and along with all the blown through let alone half blown through nails itll leak eventually no matter how much wrinkly ass paper or ice guard they are using this is kinda pathetic in all honesty
Drip metal is to be installed under ice and water, or hi temp. Master shinglers book 2020
WTH...at 4:46 they are putting new peel and stick over torn up felt paper? Horrible.
seen the same thing. Probably just put iceshield over that hole also.
Quanto custa o metro quadrado
The guys that did my roof supposed to be certainteed certified. They didn't use the certainteed underlayment. They used the rhino
Did they offer you 3-4-5 star warranty? If they did their liars and your warranty is void. Rhino is cheap tissue paper by Owen's Corning.

still no answer after three years.
you are correct. At 8:15 no holes on the hip
Funny how those safety lines, look like major TRIP hazards when guys are walking between each other. Cure one issue, create two more problems
Welcome to the roofing business! Wear safety or risk being fined. Your call!
Only for the video, trust me.
Why are you putting IW over old felt 😂😂
I wish you worked in eastern PA. So far the Contractors I quoted do NOT install the way you show. And yet they promise the same warranty. Go figure.
Where abouts in pa are you located

All of the nails driven are either over penetrated or crooked. Certainteed prohibits this. Just freeze the video and look.

nice to see different races working together up on the roof.

OSB for roof deck is horrible, Plywood matters
All new houses use osb now. 🤦🏻♂️ try to save $$

The worse part is that they didn't cut the hip for the hip vent. What purpose is the vent then serving?
