Nice vid - if you unintentionally had the same expression pedal programmed in 2 ways, say via Ctrl/Expr and Assign, which one would override the other?
Hi Ross. Excellent work as usual. One question, and I may have already missed the answer, (I am getting old). I am using the expression pedal to control the rhythm volume for each track. If you hit save after getting it to the right volume for each track, will it save that volume to each track so it starts at the right place each time you visit it? Thanks in advance, Keff
Great question. I believe that when you change any parameter within a memory and then save, it should ensure this is saved for when you next return to that memory. Hope this helps!
Thanks, that was useful! I'm wondering why it's set up as an Expression pedal for one scenario and as an Assign for the other...it's basically doing the same thing, no? Am I missing something? Cheers!
There are many more options under the assigns, so it just gives you the ability to choose from a lot more parameters, but if you find what you need on the Exp settings, it will certainly save an assign if you need it! Cheers, Ross
Thanks, I get it now. Do you know where I can find info on how to set up 2 'undo' pedals? One for track 1 and one for track 3? That would be perfect for my workflow. Cheers!
Thanks for this video! Can you have one expression pedal do different parameters for each FX bank? Ex - effect input volume on FX bank A but then effect EQ range on FX Bank B
Thanks for the video. I would like to use the pedal to play rhythm guitar part quietly then play solo louder on the top. Is it possible to control ? One guitar, same input
Absolutely! There's plenty of things you could do; use Input FX to turn on a boost, record to separate tracks with different volumes, assigns to alter parameters depending on whether your playing rhythm or lead to name a few. Good luck!
Could you have the volume pedal control volumes of individual loops? Or is there an quicker way to access the knobs as faders for each individual loop? This would be sooo helpful if so.
Absolutely. As mentioned in my other comment, you can certainly assign an expression pedal to control individual loops, that could be preselected loops or the current loop (last loop to be selected), or you could change the knobs on the device to control each up to 4 different loop levels.
@@RossGallagherMusic How would you set this to happen (via individual loops controlled by expression pedal while having a custom button be able to toggle between loops? THanks so much!
Hi Ross, thank you very much for your videos, i learned a lot!🙌🏻 I wanted to ask you if it happened to you that the expression pedal (i have the same M-audio as yours) moves some FX parameters when it is set up as a loop level controler. And if you know how to fix it just to control the loop level. Thank you very much!
Hi there. Glad you're finding the videos useful! I haven't actually experienced that myself when using the pedal to control loop levels. Does it do this on all of your memories?
@@RossGallagherMusic Hi! Done... As I programed through "assign" I just forgot to turn off the EXP 1 in "CTL Func". And it was set up as in fx ctl... Anyway, It can be intreresting to have two functions in one expression pedal! Thanks for your answer!🙏
i followed all these instructions; thanks so much for the superb guidance! i set my expression pedal to adjust master volume but it will only push it to the max, and not the minimum. the pedal only seems to work on the toe, not the heel. help? Meloaudio mini expression pedal with TRS cable to Exp. 1 input jack
it is set to momentary in Assign 1 ON, SOURCE: EXP 1, MODE MOMENT, TARGET RHYTHM LEVEL, MIN 0, MAX 100. when i view the mixer and test it up and down like you do, it only stays at the max [100] and won't move up or down. what am i missing!?!? dang! perhaps this expression pedal isn't compatible? meloaudio exp-001
I'm not sure if it's possible to switch output settings with a pedal. But what I have done in the past is record a click to a track, send that to my headphones, and then start the rhythm later in the song which will come out of the main output. I know thay method definitely works!
There is no wah effect built in. However, if you experiments with the various filter FX and assign an expression pedal to control them, it is possible to achieve something similar to a wah effect. Ross
Unfortunately, it's not possible to save your assigns across multiple memories. Your best bet would be to save a template you're happy with, and then copy this template across multiple memories. Alternatively, there is a great piece of software out there called the RC-600 Editor, which will allow you to do many useful things, including moving assigns easily. Check it out here...www.rc600editor.com/
@@RossGallagherMusic Thanks for the info! Yes i just came across that the other day. Nice to know it can be done. I’d like to save one template across all of the memories for my rig setup including the output routing and mixer levels.
Haha, I love it, Art! You're more than welcome to. Although, as you've probably noticed, I do like to film things in one take where possible, and I tend to move around the unit quite a bit. Do you think this is still possible with a tripod stand? Also, I see on the FB group that you've recently got yourself the RC-600! I'm currently making a Parameter Guide playlist, which is going over everything within the Parameter Guide, starting at the very beginning. If you haven't already checked that out, you can here... ua-cam.com/play/PLaLUwg5zlVzQfrOo-iXdoHnMPR_aS1vY0.html Cheers, Ross.
@@RossGallagherMusic thanks for the response. I have learned a lot from your videos. Last night I stayed up till 3 in The morning! Your explanations of how the RC 600 work are excellent. I’m a photographer and videographer and I do a lot of editing. I mentioned the camera movement which I guess is part of your style, but for instructional videos it can be distracting. You can video using a stationary tripod that holds your camera above the unit, and zoom in using a video editing program when necessary. Thanks for sending the link.
I appreciate the feedback, Art! I will certainly take that on board, as I look to grow the channel. I'm glad you're getting something from the videos, and I hope the RC-600 treats you well and doesn't leave you scratching your head too much. Cheers, Ross.
This is great. Moved to the rc600 from the Aeros loop studio and the one thing I miss is adjusting levels with my foot. Gonna try this out tomorrow.
