MY SIMPLE BEE WATERING SYSTEM. 5 minutes to set up! I have a large ceramic pot, no drainage hole in the bottom. Set it under your roof eaves so the rainwater keeps it full of water. Add pond plants (mine have small leaves). Bees land on the pond plants, drink, and fly back to their hive boxes at the back fence. LOW/no maintenance. Bees come and go from it all day!

Way too complicated for my tastes. I use a dog food bowl that holds about a quart of water. I toss in a handful of dry grass clippings to give the bees an easy way to leave and avoid drowning. I water my garden daily and if that bowl is a bit low I top it off at the same time. For someone like me with only 2 hives it is very easy to maintain a nice fresh water source near each hive. My bees found the bowl less than 10 ft from their hive a few minutes after I set each one up.

Good way to spend more money building something unreliable due to the siliconed on parts plus a lot more time than it costs to buy a chicken waterer and throw in some rocks. Automatic dog waterer or for me a livestock trough with wood blocks floating in it (livestock trough gets at least 25 to 35 gallons of fresh water into daily).
Although if the large jug was free, you already have the silicone and you are by the waterer daily, have another one ready as a spare, then it is totally fine.
That said, I had not heard about the salt in the water, so thank you.
I did notice that the salt water was compared to DI water, DI has pretty much 0% minerals in it.
No one or anything should ever drink DI water, it will leach minerals out of the body when you urinate.
BTW, I have run a DI water plant for 30+ years.
I would like to see it compared to tap water.
I am going to add some sea salt and maybe some oyster shells though, just makes sense.
The rest is all good tips as well.
I wish the sound was louder, could barely hear it.

IDK, why making such a useless thing? Behive needs 24 pounds water a day. Are you gonna fill it 4-6 times during the day?

This highly sanitized and almost robotic video is almost impossible to watch.
