“On Wednesday, June 26th at 6:30 pm, join Rev. Eric and the CAYA team as they discuss “The Layers of being Black and Christian” Come and explore the intersection of faith and identity, and engage in meaningful conversations about the unique experiences and challenges faced by Black Christians. All are welcome!” - announcement.
Synopsis: we’ll be discussing the intersection of our faith and identity. Currently, there’s much debate about denouncing from black organizations and collegiate universities because of idolatry, not upholding our civic responsibility through voting, and engaging in certain spiritual practices that we falsely perceive will connect us to God or the ones that really do connect us to God. We’re discussing what it means for our faith and identity to intersect
