Man I love this video, I've watched it over 20 times and it actually influenced me to get the same setup. Now I've head akro headers to a stock can for over a year now. Love it!
WHAT A BEAST ! and also, congrats on your production quality, it just shoots up through the roof ! i mean, just listen to that clear, crisp sound and also the small window panel displaying jets of blue flame from the exhaust ? WOW you really outdone yourself huh? im proud of you :D This mod where you just replace the headers while keeping the OEM muffler is very popular back in the old days, where they just want a better sound and power without sacrificing the aesthetic of a standard muffler, because stock mufflers were made beautifully. For example, some Kawasaki Z900rs owners modify their bikes this way. i would say its pretty awesome to hear a full system sound coming from a beautiful, shiny chrome-finish exhaust !
Thanks for the compliment but it's really nothing much and pretty basic video.. :) The reason for keeping the muffler standard in this case was that the muffler was hella expensive, plus didn't look that good (to the owner).. As long as it spits flames and dyno run result is good (slightly rich) without needing tune is good too.. True for the Z900RS the stock muffler matches the bike well and no point to change it out..
If not mistaken just plug and play. The pipes position is same with the standard. if you were to change just muffler (slip-on) it will fit with OEM pipe because the position is the same so inversely the Akrapovič headers will be at the same position as the stock muffler
The owner did not fancy the Akra muffler look and price, you still get quite similar gains but with a lower sound levels, you can still hear the sound but it's not too loud.
Unfortunately I don't know the sound levels, maybe Akrapovič website will mention the decibels.. This one still uses the standard muffler so the sound should be a bit lesser than a complete full system
almost anything is louder than 95. it is best to get an aftermarket exhaust to slip onto this full pipe but ensure it can take baffles. then you can put in the baffles when you go to the track.
As shown in the video.. The owner just changed the header section to aftermarket Akrapovic full system, when you have full system there is no more restriction in the pipes and so there will be flames.
Not trying to be a dick, but you shouldn't call it "full system" if it's just headers. You can say "aftermarket headers", but "full system" implies you also have an aftermarket can.
Your definition may differ from mine, I call it what it is, the headers are Akrapovič full system headers. Only the muffler remains stock. I didn't say 'full system" but "full system headers" as the title shows.

Hope you are enjoying the setup.. I guess you are since you have this setup for over a year 😁
Yeah I've since added the akro end can and a rapid bike tune. Still loving it. Thanks for the inspiration
Beast Mode On !!
such monster, such beast! ;)

Awesome
wow such an enlightening video. not even sure if this was before after the install or what.
Flames = after installation
This is all after install? How is the performance now vs stock? The sound and exhaust flames are Ah-Maz-ing!
I don't have the exact numbers but the owner did a dyno run (no tune) minor gain with the headers in but sounds much better than stock..
That sound make my ears melting....lul..hahaha
congratulations, did you have to make changes to mount the akrapovic manifolds on the original silencer? thanks

Ha Ha Im +50 but still smiling like at little boy while im thinking "wow look at the flames" :-)
You're not the only one having such feels.. :D
Why use the stock muffler with akra headers? Any reason behind it?
The owner did not fancy the Akra muffler look and price, you still get quite similar gains but with a lower sound levels, you can still hear the sound but it's not too loud.
I wonder if it Would sound louder with aftermarket exhaust
Yes it will sound a bit louder since some exhaust muffler are small sized or less sound dampening material
Track limits here are set at 95 dB. Do you know how many dB this headers produce?
Unfortunately I don't know the sound levels, maybe Akrapovič website will mention the decibels.. This one still uses the standard muffler so the sound should be a bit lesser than a complete full system

How do I make my xr shoot flames
As shown in the video.. The owner just changed the header section to aftermarket Akrapovic full system, when you have full system there is no more restriction in the pipes and so there will be flames.
What about the servo valve! Is it still there or removed!!
Still there, just disconnected the cables.
@@thesighbored that means the valve is in it’s open position! Also no error codes?
I will have to ask, but the owner didn't mention any errors.
Hey can you put here the link for the headers please?
Unfortunately there's no link, the owner bought it from motorcycle accessories shop directly.. But you can find the make/model on Akrapovič website
TheSighBored it’s stainless or titanium?
This one is stainless..
I wonder if the mini Z can follow this kind of modification, that's would be awesome.
It's not possible, the existing system the muffler box is all in one piece, better to just get a full system setup.
I see
Is this as loud as a z800/z900?
Z8/Z9 with aftermarket muffler? I think those will sound louder since this is still using standard muffler.
Buat kat kedai mne bro?
Ini bukan buat, ini beli full system pipe Akrapovic dan pasang plug & play.. Pasang di kedai Blueprintgarage.
How much is the full headers
Around MYR 4000 roughly
Is that a bootleg Akrapovic system?
No, the headers/pipes are original Akrapovic, only the end muffler remains as standard factory.
Is it tuned?
During this video the bike was on standard factory not dyno tuned yet.

I am very poor and I Want to buy a Kawasaki motorcycle and I cannot pay for it 😔😔😔
Sorry to hear that, hopefully one day you can make your dream come true.
@@thesighbored Thank yuo and l'm sorry l bothered you with my words
