Went two nights in early October, Tue and Wed nights and it was packed did Stay and Scream both nights and still only managed to do each house once. The only reason I didn’t spring for express was the person I was with couldn’t afford it. I’d never go without it again, waiting in hour long lines for every house was really disappointing.
We went on 10/26 on a Wednesday and we had express passes. We got there at about 6:30. Got all 10 houses and all scare zones plus Nightmare Fuel show done. Would have gotten Ghoulish done but it wasn’t in operation. Also did Rip, Ride Rocket and still got out for there in the 12 o’clock hour.
I think the show Nightmare fuel was awesome, better than anything out there, saw every time I was at the park, never got boring and was always pack from top to bottom. I also think HHN was very unique and memorable one of the best years definitely.
I agree with everything except i loved the show. Performers are extremely talented, and even if it’s not your thing, it definitely wasn’t boring😅 my hard to please boyfriend was also very impressed lol. Maybe because i regard the houses/ambience the main attraction and the shows as sort of “extras” but i was very impressed with this one, a lot better than many other theme park shows (although I wasn’t there last year)
had 1 night, Columbus day weekend, no express....VERY crowded. Too crowded. Not sure if lots of frequent fear folks, or what, but lines grew so long much earlier in the evening compared to last year. Wouldn't do HHN again w/o express. Still fun, still enjoyed, but not as much as last year.
Breaking news -Universal just confirmed half of kids zone is getting closed and replaced! The curse is over? ET, animal actors and spongebob will stay but shrek (they just made it!) american tail, goes to town, dreamworks, woody is history!
I said this on Poseidon's channel, but regarding the crowd levels (which I agree are completely out of control), there are rumors that Universal Orlando has been way overselling event passes, whereas Hollywood puts a (relatively) sane cap. While we did have sell-out nights, it didn't approach the amount of sell-outs that Hollywood enforced. USO needs to do something for 2023. IMO, the solution has always been reasonable capacity limits, but the company wants to make extreme HHN bank, so that probably won't happen. An 11th house, keeping all the rides open, and creating bona-fide street shows (like Carnival of Carnage) would help. A working lagoon show would also be a benefit (yes, I know Ian wrecked Ghoulish, so I'm not blaming Universal for that). I had a Scream Early ticket on an ordinary Wednesday and the only thing it ultimately offered was the ability to see the Bourne show. Once I got to my assigned house, the standby wait time was still over 50 minutes, so the whole point of it was a bust. I do like Nightmare Fuel. The show draws a huge crowd, so it's desperately needed. I know Universal wants to demolish the stage (for reasons I still don't understand), but it's an absolute necessity for for HHN. If they don't put on at least one live show in a large stage, it'll be disastrous. Nightmare Fuel is also developing a BIG fanbase, so if Universal axes it, there might be a riot. I dunno. I love the houses and overall vibe of HHN, but for 2023 I'm gonna be forced to buy a hellaciously expensive express pass, as I have health issues that preclude me from barely moving in a 100+ minute queue (Fibromyalgia). I honestly don't know how other people can stand on concrete for that long and not require hospitalization afterwards.
Yeah I feel HHN31 was overall pretty sleepy and unspecific. I ended up liking Halloween & the Black Phone house the best because they were the most focused in, narrative based houses to me. And the shows were a 0/10. They desperately need something like rocky horror, beetlejuice, an icon show with jack, etc. as a different offering. Nightmare fuel is a wash.
We went last year, first two houses were fun after that it was like ok ya another scary house ......yep ok another one . Enjoyed the food, entertainment and atmosphere more. Oh yeah one of the chainsaw wheedling clowns broke character and got pisssssed off and yelled at me because my phone light was on while recording him , like I knew!
You always do such a good job with honestly reviewing! Not shills!! Muah!

Would love to see an overview of Universal during the holidays! Info on both parks and City Walk!!!!

Thank you for all the Halloween content! Looking forward to Christmas 🎄

Coming next week, Craig and Ryno break down their predictions for HHN 32.

You had to experience HHN like non - media people. It’s always line waits and cattle heards. Money better spent at local haunts.

I thought we decided the name of the show was "Two Idiots with no authority"
