    My favorite FF cartoon of all time is the Hanna-Barbera show from the 1960's. That show was extremely faithful to the source material, and it's a crime that it has yet to be released on home video.

    Finally, someone brought back the buried Fantastic 4: World's Greatest Heroes. I understand people don't care about the F4 because they usually have that 60's vibe to them and they were always portrayed that way until the 2000's, but in that show, the characters simply work together and they age pretty well. It's a shame it didn't get the due respect because it was a fantastic show to watch... and strangely - it still is today! It's a new fresh vision of those old stories and mixes up everything great about them.

    • @zaranyzerak
      @zaranyzerak  6 років тому +2

      Yes! Finally more love for the 2006 FF series! And here I was beginning to think I was the only one. It's great stuff, based on The Ultimate FF comics, which as you said basically revisit/reimagine a lot of the classic storylines.

    • @ReversedPolarity
      @ReversedPolarity 6 років тому +2

      I really wish there was more awareness to the 2006 series, but people only seem to talk about the Hanna-Barbera show. I mean, it's a great show too and the most faithful to the original source material, but we come to a point where those characters have to move on like the other superheroes. That's why I love that series so much. It's bold and fresh, the characters can be so fun and down-to-earth and if the F4 are ever brought to the MCU, I would love to see them that way. And this comes from a guy who never paid much attention to the F4 all those years ago as a kid! (I was mostly a fan of Doctor Doom)... and then I saw some Ultimate storylines, Jonathan Hickman's run, the Future Foundation, Annihilation, the original runs,... and all I can think about is that these are the F4 we needed.
      They're still explorers and diplomats, but they're all bound to the issues in their lives, like neighbors, lectures, events, villains, experiments, tasks, and more importantly, family issues. And people usually say the Incredibles is the most faithful movie adaptation of the F4 (without being the F4), but if these characters and tones were in a movie, they would get that place imo. I did like the 2005 movie though, but it felt like another action movie that was a bit too cheesy at times, even for that time, but they got the basic tones right (except it didn't feel exactly right and they wasted Galactus in the sequel).

      Zaranyzerak what also stinks is the first fantastic 4 movie from 1994 that I know of does not have an approved legal release of it. Outside of UA-cam I think the only way I know of to see it is from boot leg VHS tapes if they're still available. Also there is a slime chance that Sony may make another fantastic four movie before the rights expire if they're not thinking logically. The 94 film was made to buy time for how long they could keep the rights it was not planned to be released in any form sadly coreman and the cast did not find out the truth until after it was completed.

    Actually the 1978 series was by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises which later became Marvel Productions itself. The 1967 series with the Human Torch in it was by Hanna-Barbera. I blame it all on Magneto's stupidity and that wooden gun! The Silver Surfer series came out in 1998, again I blame that wooden gun! :D The original version of the DVD set did have a booklet, but I must have gotten yours at a later printing stage where Clear Vision were winding down on their Marvel sets, sorry about that. You can't stop saying 'Fantastic' in this video can you? :D The problem is 20th Century Fox. We all know that. ;)

      Oh sorry, I should have realized that one or two people may have all ready corrected you with that error there, ah well. They may have short changed the booklets, but Clear Vision didn't skimp out on the slip covers, probably because they're cheaper to produce then booklets or something? :D

    The 1978 version was not from Hanna-Barbera. It was from DePatie-Freeleng Enterprises and Marvel Comics Animation (they also did Spider-Woman) (they merged in 1980 to form Marvel Productions, which was bought by New World Entertainment and became New World Animation in 1992. All of New World and Marvel Films Animation were bought by News Corporation and Saban Entertainment in 1997. All Fox Kids-related properties from New World Animation and Saban Entertainment were bought by The Walt Disney Company and released under BVS Entertainment in 2001).

    Opinion respected on the 70s fantastic four series I really don’t like that version because it’s completely one dimensional and the studio mandates and copyrights with the human torch character ruins the show for me
    The 90s version is well ok I’ve heard the series got better durring season two but from what I’ve seen it’s not really horrible but not really noteworthy either
    World greatest heroes is the best fantastic 4 show since the 60s show since it rejuvenated the stories and the main cast for a new generation and it worked

    • @zaranyzerak

      Actually watch the 90s show. It's worth it to get through the cheesy first season for the absolutely superb second season. Second season is easily on par with World's Greatest Heroes imo, it's THAT big a difference between the two seasons. Same with the Iron Man series from the same year. It is absolutely "noteworthy" and if you're an FF fan, you're doing yourself a disservice by not checking it out!
