i love that this was recommended after the pass it on.
I love how the community seems to have moved from making observant comments about Mike's wardrobe to Ben's. Ben's shirt looks good on him but it's definitely not a style I imagined he'd go for. Now going back to Mike, it is now mid November. When is the infamous scardigarf going to make an appearance again?
+Esther Gee pretty sure its Mike's shirt. ben's got some pale ass arms lol.
+Avery Kate If it's Mike's shirt then everything would make so much more sense
+Avery Kate hahahaha poor Ben! He made a gorgeous dessert and we all can't help noticing his farmer's tan. I do like his shirt though!
Wait, Ben owns something else to wear beside his chef jackets and fancy shirts? Niiiiice!
It's 3 am, I need to stop watching your videos... So hungry, that looks absolutely delicious
God, same. I'm dying of hunger and literally have almost nothing at home to eat.
So surreal to see you guys reacting like that to this simple kladdkaka. It's something you learn how to make when you are like 7 years old in Sweden, or at least in my family x
When Mike almost hugged Ben putting the cake in the oven, omg I ship it so hard!
Ben is looking as good as that brownie with his t-shirt :)
Haha this video must have resurfaced because of last night's afternoon tea lol
This series reminds me of the "At the Table" they used to do for TasteMade! Which makes me VERY happy, because I loved that series to bits!!
I just made this recipe and it turned out amazing! I made 3/4 of the recipe in a 6 inch square pan and baked it at 350f for 16 min. I also added 1/4 tsp salt. The mixture turned out quite dry compared to the batter in the video so I gradually added milk until it resembled the one in the vid. I let it rest at room temp until it was completely cool and served. It came out gooey and delicious. Thanks guys!
I'm staying in Sweden temporarily and I know Kladdkaka is the thing I'll miss most when I leave.
I would very much like that live thing done again (if it was ever done at all). My favorite favorite thing to do with friends is cook and muck about in the kitchen, and to do that with people all over the world would be awesome.
Nice that you tried this cake that like every Swede loves. It's a very common cake to eat here in Sweden ☺️ the name, kladdkaka actually means "gooey cake". 👌
I like that they're gonna pass this recipe onto others, bc that's basically what we Swedes do with kladdkaka. pretty much everyone has their own version of it, and everyone likes it differently, and none of them are bad
I come from a family of four, all of us have different diets and dietary requirements which understandably makes it really difficult to find a meal that we can all have. And to be honest I really miss the family dinners. My dad has no issues whatsoever, I'm a vegetarian, my mum has fructose malabsorption and my brother is a coeliac. I would be incredibly grateful for a recipe that is suitable for different dietary requirements without passing on flavour and substance... Thank you!
Yup, kladdkaka is the best thing! I just made mine before watching this and oh, so good!
There are a lot of versions of this, the one I made is flour-free and cacao-free, uses chocolate instead :) Very yummy!
Mike and Ben at 3:32 'Smell yer nan?!?!' - best moment of this video! haha!
i had no idea that swedish brownies were different until a girl from sweden started attending my school! theyre so good (and while its not entirely relevant, the swedish exchange student is super lovely as well)
KLADDKAKA! I am so happy you guys made this (and yea I know it was a while ago)
And also you guys who are complaining on how they serve it, you know this is Sorted right? It's supposed to be a twist on it!
The kladdkaka needs to be known!! Btw, a tip: instead of breadcrumbs you could also use shredded coconut :)
I wasn't really paying attention at the start and thought Ben said "masturbated berries." I was instantly afraid.
sharanne5 he knows and i'm sure he's very appreciative of the 2 year late reply
At first I didn't understand why it was round. And then I realized it wasn't actually a brownie, but kladdkaka. Explained SO much.
I made this and it was incredibly rich and delicious! Also I don't like rosemary so I added mint and Limoncello instead of the rosemary and balsamic vinegar to the macerate and it came out great.
I'm Swedish and the chocolate brownie or Kladdkaka as we call it is one of my favourite things to eat.
Just made some last night, didn't even last 24 hours at my house! So good!
I FINALLY DISCOVERED THE SECRET OF THE OPENING! It's in reverse, and the "IN" is written in butter, while it is melting. Damn that's ingenious. It has been bothering me ever since the series began... Really cool opening, btw xD
oh please bring this format back, even if just for one episode!
Kladdkaka is a Swedish favorite. Its something my mom will just whip together for a spontaneous fika with the family. Its also my nephew's favorite cake. Usually have it with whipped cream or ice cream.
YUM! I have the same recipe except add buttermilk to the batter for a luscious,, fudgy chocolate cake. Then I pour a glossy buttermilk ganache over the cake while it's still warm. For a fudgy s'more cake I sprinkle a layer of mini marshmallows over the hot cake and leave it in a warm oven to melt for a couple minutes before pouring the ganache over the marshmallows . :) Like your/Ellen's recipe, this variation is also a GREAT "crowd pleaser" - it never disappoints! Thanks for sharing, guys!
I've been watching Sorted for like four or five years, and I think it's safe to say that Ben has leveled up. I mean he was always cute in that nerdy kinda way but now it's like daamn Ben congratulations on your evolution.
I can not empathise enough how much of a crowd pleasure this is.
A common way of eating it is with raspberries and whipped cream (no sugar in that whipped cream, just plain whipped cream).
Fresh Strawberries are also fairly common
But it’s wonderfully amazing eating it just by itself.
Those sides are more common if you want to make it a little more special for a social occasion.
It’s like a wonderful mix of a chocolate fondant and a brownie. Easy, quick and just crazy delicious. Have the recipe ready because people will be asking for it.
It freezes up nicely too. If you want a perfect slice for pictures it’s common to cut it while it’s still frozen.
It’s also common to just cut a few slices up while it’s frozen and leave the rest for later. But this is one of those things so good that it will be gone very quickly.
Im the unlikely scenario that you are left with any to feeze, a frozen slice of kladdkaka thaws very quickly, but you can microwave it gently if you want to have it be warm like it’s freshly baked.
My mother in law taught me that bread crumbs thing when I moved to Finland and I've been doing it ever since with almost every cake especially date cake YUM ..
One of the things that I miss the most from my time living in Stockholm, there is no other desert like it! Thanks Sorted for the recipe!
Did you realize that the chocolate brownie calmed the boys from Sorted? This episode was the one of most "zen" and peaceful.
Chocolate works miracles.
Love Ben's shirt! love it love it love it
I am from Sweden, and yes. Kladdkaka is the best thing ever.
I also suggest putting candies inside! Such as Dumle, or Daim. Maybe both, for a caramel-crunchy chocolate heaven?
So happy that you are finally doing kladdkaka. And even happier that you liked it!
Please bring back this format as so many people are still stuck indoors
Ive actually seen this like Five times and i cant get enough of bens prunounciation of kladdkaka
I made this brownie just after u guys uploaded this video. I made this brownie for like the third time now and it turns out perfect everytime! Its sooooo awsm guys! I love u guys!
You guys have just not stopped getting better. Its such a shame that I havent tried most ofthe recipies already.
Watermelon and basil blended up to a drink with sparkling water (only a little bit as the watermelon is very watery) is amazing! But just a tiny little bit of basil! Works great with strawberries as well😍
make icecream out of the leftover kladdkaka me and my brother made it a few years ago it was godlike! i am a proud swedish man
You can replace bread crumbs by sugar or almond flour its amazing too !
Oooh, kladdkaka! A Swedish friend of mine used to make this for me all the time, and now I kind of feel like taking a train to Malmø or Helsingborg to have an authentic piece.
Also, I miss Mike's scardigarf. Just putting that out there.
When I was twelve I sometimes made this after school. Here (in Sweden) it's kind of a dessert children make...
When I make kladdkaka, I add 1 tablespoon of booze, like rum or smoky whisky and leave cake in the fridge over night and get Swedish truffle cake. Oh and even better add caramel on top and then chocolate ganache. That is ace.
Very well represented! Sometimes people takes stuff from other nationalities and just make a fool of themselves when they changed everything. But this is pretty much how me, a Swede, would make the kladdkaka myself.
I had this in Gothenburg- in Cafe Husaren (I was a tourist, after all). It was amazing!
KLADDKAKAAAA. this is my fav dessert, so gonna try this even tho there is like 108 other recipies
I always use coconut oil when making brownies. It leaves them gooey hours after making them and adds a great taste as well!
Ben... actually looks... stylish?! in that shirt??? What is happening!?!? (I mean that with love just so it's clear :P)
I just realised this is the first time I've seen anyone outside of Sweden use breadcrumbs to line the tin. That's like the standard procedure for baking anything here - butter tin, pour in breadcrumbs, pour out the excess. Why is it not used widely in other countries? (Pro tip: replace breadcrumbs with desiccated coconut. YUM.)
I love seeing some nordic recipes. Yay, Sweden! Would love to see some finnish recipe too sometime. Still nice work guys :)
reminds me a bit of a french fondant gateau but perhaps even more luscious
+Isabella Gronevik Not sure anybody cares...people in Tokyo call tea "English Milk Tea"...for us it's just tea.
People in the West eat "Brazil Nuts"...but in Brazil they are just a different type of nut...
Get over yourself.
3:40 the way Ben looks at Mikey is like 'this silly little doof, but that's why I love him' is the cutest thing ever.
I miss big night in. I've been binge rewatching all the old episodes.
Whoaaaaaa, Ellen. The breadcrumb is genius.
Oh yeah, you guys discovered this goodness aswell. It's just the best! At my school we used to deal in kladdkakas, you could trade anything for a good kladdkaka.
*Cue all the swedish fans screaming happily*
Like me, haha! I've watched your channel for a few years and I've used several of your recipes in some variant, thanks for your hard work! I love you guys!
I love when you do deserts rather than mains! I love mains too though
I actually missed the start of the recipe because I was so shocked by the amount of arm from Ben, I didn't know he had that much arm!
This ought to be an eye candy video
Isabelle Comber i think shes talking abt a sortedfood series called eyecandy where they make orgasmic videos of food...
I agree with Barry, I LOVE sweet food.😇
Recently there has been much more gallivanting and joking than usual, I love it!
Since I'm from Sweden I'm very happy!
my nan always used to make kladdkaka :') thankyou so much for an english recipe!
Going to try and make this for school . I do GCSE food tech
+Vo ranzy aw well done . We are having a lesson where we have a choice on what we want to cook . so I'm thinking of doing this . or even at home for my family
Ben looks AWESOME- Jamie guessing that lavender RIGHT away was MAJORLY impressive.
Great episode- these guys are always TWD.
Made this the day I watched it! It turned out so lovely and fudgy in the center once it cooled down, and even before at mid warm, it was like a giant lava/fondant cake.
I've heard Ben say "wobble" too many times today. Thx to binge watching
Ben please wear that shirt more often! You look amazing in it holy crap 😍 it looks so great on you omg Ilysm ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ also the food looks good haha
Looks more like a tart than a brownie. I'm drooling.
I'm swedish, and "kladdkaka" is so good! It's really simple, and you can cook it to preference. Do you want a very gooey middle or somwhat firm middle? You decide, it's up to you. As for myself, I like it somewhat firm.
Ben can dress however the hell he wants and he will ALWAYS look perfect
The first time I have seen ben wear a tshirt on big night in- life made 😍
i need to see ben wearing more shirts like this
I once made Kladdkaka 3 times in once week because it was so good my family got through them in 2 days. Mmmm.
OOOO, OOO, OOO!!!! I have a Dutch dessert I would LOVE to see you guys make! It's Almond Banket... Or Almond Roll... Or Dutch Letters... Or you can just simply call it by the original Dutch name, Roomboter Banketstaaf. :) I make this for Christmas and it's an absolute favorite!
I make this all the time for "fika" here in Sweden, Love IT! 😍
bens tshirt compliments his eyes perfectly and shows his cute little farmers tan!
It's nice to see Ben's arm out of his chef's jacket but yes agree that not sure if the t-shirt is his style xxx
You're guys just fantastic. You made my Friday 13-th! Thanks!
I just love them!!! They are the perfect Friday night company! I wish I could meet them some day...
Kladdkaka e svin gott! thanks for the swedish dish!!!!^^ Finelly❤ A swedish thing. really happy!
hugs from Sweden!💛💙💛💙
Stop at 2:24 and you'll see that Mikes face just really look like Mona Lisa's.I mean look at it
Uh yes it is...go to the 6 BBQ Hacks video, they talk about comment of the week there at 3:50
Ben looks amazing in his t-shirt! I want a girly version of it.
If anyone wants to know, kladd is a word which means... Well, goo is the best translation I can think of. It's goo but stickier, kladd. And kaka just means cake. The first a is pronounced like the a in 'Arnold', and the second a is pronounced like the a in 'nachos', when you say 'nachos' with an american accent.
As a swede I usually eat my kladdkaka with just whipped cream. Or a whipped cream mixed with some baileys :)
Could you guys please do a vegan series? Or gluten free/dairy free/vegetarian recipes? Or just a series that James cooks by himself and versus Ben.
Nonononoononoononononoooo. This is not a Brownie! This is a Kladdkaka and nothing else
+Mbadly They literally said kladdkaka in the video. Swedish brownie is easier to say for non swedes.
+Mbadly When they first said Swedish brownie I was so confused. What special brownies do we have here, then I saw they were talking about Kladdkaka and thought the same thing you did :P
Kladdkaka! Oh, what a wonderful thing!
Brownie Hype! Love you guys!
I'll honestly have to go to Eli's recipe at the app to sort this out, cause I got so distracted by Ben's t-shirt sleeves that I couldn't grasp a thing of what they were saying...
What is happening to him??? Seriously, if you saw that tee in a shop would you think: "Hmmm... here is a thing I can see Ben wearing for sure!"? Did you??!!
#flabbergasted :P
+Ana Arantes You know he got dressed that morning and thought "Damn, I look good today!" Then he clipped on his mic and realized he could get that little peek of chest hair.... and then he thought "Yes, now the look is complete."
Or he got dressed in the dark like most guys I know :)
Maggie Taylor I'll go for the first option! Cause the mental image of Ben going in front of the mirror an saying "Damn, I look good!" is so amazing I can't get rid of it now!!!
lol it was kinda like the first time I saw a trans friend of mine in full makeup and a cocktail dress......well, a bit like.......ok, maybe its not QUITE the same....cant really see Ben in 6 inch heels and strapless tbh (not without a chest wax anyway lol)......but its the same shock of the unfamiliar along with a frisson of recognition at the same time lol
And now I am craving for brownie. Thanks.
Anyone back here after Jamie tried to start a kladdkaka in a Pass it on but Barry had no clue what is meant to be and ditched it?
I'm here because UA-cam recommend this video after watching the Pass it On episode. 😄
Yes. That's probably why this is in my recommendations.
Present! ✋
Yes!!!
Yes!
