man, as a guy who's literally 4'10" as an adult, it's not just being a man, either; there comes a point that it's hard to be taken seriously as an adult, period. if you're shorter than 5', you're such an outlier that it starts getting difficult to actually function, because everything is built for people who are average height. the fact that average-height guys feel the pressure to do this doesn't reflect well on our society as a whole, honestly. this surgery is fucking terrifying, to the point that its existence is how i accepted myself as a short guy. hell, even if it didn't terrify me that much, my limbs are already disproportionately long.

Also as a side note: this surgery makes your bones brittle and you probably can not do any extreme sports or anything that would put much strain on them, so your chances of breaking your femurs increases with the surgery.

I've actually had 8 leg-lengthening surgeries for medically necessary reasons. Them being if I didn't get them I would be wheelchair-bound. The long and short of the story is that my left leg doesn't have the ability to grow because of a condition I was born with. So if I never got the surgeries my left leg from the knee down most likely would have been the size it was when I was born till the day I die. There are legit reasons to get limb-lengthening surgeries I will admit, "Being taller" is not one of them. There are unbelievably painful and going through one let alone 8 of them was possibly the hardest long-term endurance test I will ever have to go through. I can't imagine going through one just to be taller.

The talking and walking thing is a technique that is quite often used when there is no studio, no permission for filming but is also good for psycholical reasons. For example, interviewing somebody who is a little awkward.. Doing something else that has a natural process to it (like walking) , helps massively in producing a more fluid and natural conversation.
Being average height isnt bad as long as you're in good shape. I surprisingly get called short by short girls but never tall girls. I've dated girls taller than me. A lot of girls where i live are pretty tall though, like 6'1+
When I was like 15 years old this procedure was offered to me and I was told it could improve my quality of life. I was then told about how the process went and I immediately refused. Today I am 4' 6" and I am proud of who I am. I am perfectly happy and being a little taller wouldn't change anything. Edit: Not trying to put down anyone that did get this surgery done. I'm sure it takes strength to go through with it as well!

Not all of them go through surgery or even hormone, and they talk with experts thoroughly before making any important decisions. It's not just for cosmetic purpose since it's detrimental for their mental health. But I'm not a trans and I live in a lgbtphobic country so I don't know too much.
I had the EXACT same jaw surgery as Ken. He did not mention the torture that was the recovery. For a straight month, you need to have your jaw shut. Not mostly shut, COMPLETELY SHUT. The way they did this for me were strong ass rubber bands. You can't talk, move your tongue that much, eat solids, and you brushing your teeth is a process. If you don't follow this to a T, you risk infection and opening up your stitches and trust me you don't want that to happen (learned from experience). After you have the rubber bands removed and you can move your jaw, it's still healing at this point and moving it will feel like nails on a chalkboard. This goes away after a week though. You also got to mentally adjust to your new jaw. You will constantly catch yourself subconsciously moving your jaw back to where it was before and you have to relearn how to pronounce some constants like 's' and 't'. Even after all that, it's worth it. I don't know how bad Ken's jaw was, but it's a preventative surgery in some cases due to future breathing problems.

Omg what felix said about changing what you look like because other people tell you too, resonated with me so much. As a kid i never though it was bad that i was skinny or not curvy etc, i didnt start feeling bad about it till people started teasing me and bullying me for it.
Well it's a pretty common surgery. I also had double jaw surgery, and despite how horrific it sounds, it isn't as horrific as it being associated with a sports or vehicular accident. It was EXTREMELY PAINFUL for the first few days, and a lot of paranoia about my jaws regrowing incorrectly because my teeth were wired shut.
A friend of mine did the legs lengthening surgery, but she was born with dwarfism and wanted to be at a more normal height. The process lasted for more than 3 years, and was quite painful. She's very happy with the results though!
This is neat so I got my left femur broken and lengthened, but it’s not for cosmetic reasons! I had a leg length discrepancy and needed to get this issue fixed. When you have a leg length discrepancy (one leg shorter than the other) this surgery can fix that difference and get rid of chronic pain caused by a discrepancy.
I have that problem too my right leg is 3 cm shorter than my left leg cause i broke it as a child after i fell from my bike i would appreciate it if you can describe how the surgery goes the regeneration after it the pain etc

Here's the thing. I had a leg correction procedure--both of my legs needed to be straightened. I had so many problems for years before and after the surgery. It's such a major procedure, lengthening or correction, I just can't fathom anyone intentionally doing this to themselves.

My second cousin was born with different length legs and the shorter leg didn't grow equally to the rest of her body. She had to go through with this surgery so many times growing up. As a 5'4 (163cm) tall, 33 year old with a metal rod in my tibia from an accident, I would never get this surgery and I really would reccomend seeing a psychiatrist if you are seriously considering getting any body image enhancement surgery. When I was young they measured my handbones (the space within) and they predicted I would be small. They suggested leg surgery. This way I could be a bit bigger. I never did it, but I understand why people would. I'm 165cm (5 ft 5inches?), which is not super short, but as a man it was quite harsh growing up. Small people get bullied more and girls overall prefer tall man. With everybody so 'woke' lately, short people are pretty much ignored. Anyways I don't care anymore, I can't change my height, it's fine, but it's a shame short people are a laughable subject while every one is shouting about awareness for every other kind of physical difference.

When I was like 15 years old this procedure was offered to me and I was told it could improve my quality of life. I was then told about how the process went and I immediately refused.
Today I am 4' 6" and I am proud of who I am. I am perfectly happy and being a little taller wouldn't change anything.

I had the EXACT same jaw surgery as Ken. He did not mention the torture that was the recovery.
For a straight month, you need to have your jaw shut. Not mostly shut, COMPLETELY SHUT. The way they did this for me were strong ass rubber bands. You can't talk, move your tongue that much, eat solids, and you brushing your teeth is a process.
If you don't follow this to a T, you risk infection and opening up your stitches and trust me you don't want that to happen (learned from experience).
After you have the rubber bands removed and you can move your jaw, it's still healing at this point and moving it will feel like nails on a chalkboard. This goes away after a week though. You also got to mentally adjust to your new jaw. You will constantly catch yourself subconsciously moving your jaw back to where it was before and you have to relearn how to pronounce some constants like 's' and 't'.
Even after all that, it's worth it. I don't know how bad Ken's jaw was, but it's a preventative surgery in some cases due to future breathing problems.

Well it's a pretty common surgery. I also had double jaw surgery, and despite how horrific it sounds, it isn't as horrific as it being associated with a sports or vehicular accident. It was EXTREMELY PAINFUL for the first few days, and a lot of paranoia about my jaws regrowing incorrectly because my teeth were wired shut.
A friend of mine did the legs lengthening surgery, but she was born with dwarfism and wanted to be at a more normal height. The process lasted for more than 3 years, and was quite painful. She's very happy with the results though!

This is neat so I got my left femur broken and lengthened, but it’s not for cosmetic reasons! I had a leg length discrepancy and needed to get this issue fixed. When you have a leg length discrepancy (one leg shorter than the other) this surgery can fix that difference and get rid of chronic pain caused by a discrepancy.

@@serwano3758 it’s honestly not too painful on the pain meds they give you. You can look up the surgery on UA-cam and find some really helpful videos (limb lengthening surgery with stride nail) should do the trick

Here's the thing. I had a leg correction procedure--both of my legs needed to be straightened. I had so many problems for years before and after the surgery. It's such a major procedure, lengthening or correction, I just can't fathom anyone intentionally doing this to themselves.

My second cousin was born with different length legs and the shorter leg didn't grow equally to the rest of her body.
She had to go through with this surgery so many times growing up.
Finally she had to get some medication to prevent her from growing because she was always healing from surgery and didn't want to miss out because she always had to be careful.

As a 5'4 (163cm) tall, 33 year old with a metal rod in my tibia from an accident, I would never get this surgery and I really would reccomend seeing a psychiatrist if you are seriously considering getting any body image enhancement surgery. My mate was in a car accident when he was young and it caused his one leg not to grow as a teen, so he had one leg longer than the other so when he was fully grown had his one leg lengthened like that. But it was recommended by his doctor.

When I was young they measured my handbones (the space within) and they predicted I would be small. They suggested leg surgery. This way I could be a bit bigger. I never did it, but I understand why people would. I'm 165cm (5 ft 5inches?), which is not super short, but as a man it was quite harsh growing up. Small people get bullied more and girls overall prefer tall man. With everybody so 'woke' lately, short people are pretty much ignored. Anyways I don't care anymore, I can't change my height, it's fine, but it's a shame short people are a laughable subject while every one is shouting about awareness for every other kind of physical difference.
