Wonderful and very clear video! The only wrinkle was that the tank was installed on a bracket, not the 2 screws. But it was very easy to figure out. Thank you!!!
Hello! Great video!!! I just descaled mine without an issue! I didn’t have a syringe so I took an empty bottled water (Life Wtr brand) with a drinking top that happened to fit perfectly over the hole! Filled the tank with vinegar in less than 5 min!
Thank you *so* much for this easy how-to video!! My hot water dispenser stopped working and I understand now that they do not last forever. You have saved me an expensive plumber call!! :D :D
I am replacing the tank under my sink. Mine looks like yours., Good info in your video. I would like to make a pluming change. My under sink setup is identical to yours. My faucet has 2 leavers. one for hot and one for cold. Currently, only the hot water is filtered, as in your video. I would also like the cold water that comes out of the faucet to be filtered. In your video, there is a Y where the filtered water line connects to the copper tubing. It appears that one end of the Y has a plug in it. Ok, now here is my question... Can I pull out the plug and insert the copper tubing that goes to the cold sideof the faucet? If I can, are there any issues that I should be aware of? Thanks in advance for your help.
This is not designed for cold water out of your faucet. It’s really only designed for the instant hot tank only. I do not recommend you doing that instead add an additional filter on the cold side if you want that filtered.
It may be more than unstuck it could be the valve is not seating correctly from overuse. they do wear out overtime, unfortunately. It’s happened to me and I had to change the whole faucet head.
This is really helpful! I just noticed a small leak coming from the bottom of my unit...it's probably 5 years old..should I just replace it like you did?
Great Video! I did order a new InSinkErator hot water tank from Amazon. It came today. After I unpacked it, I noticed when I would turn it over I would hear a small noise that sounded like a small piece of metal moving inside the tank. I called InSinkErator tech support line. They told me that this is normal and caused by a small metal plug used to internally close a line to stop backflow. Have you happened to hear about this issue before?
Make sure you fill it with cold water before you plug it in. Because if you don’t, you’ll burn out the element and it won’t get hot. Other than that I’m not really sure what’s going on.
I be looked online for a replacement tank from Amazon and Home Depot. It seems they sell the whole system. Does anyone know a site that sells the tank only? 9:02 Sept 24 2023
Great video! How much do these replacement tanks normally cost? Looks like they are close to $300? That's not far from the original cost of the whole unit! 😞
Thanks for the video.I am having the same situation.I will do it myself. plumber asked $250 for the installation fee. Basically, it is changing 3 tubes. OMG
I replaced an older unit with a new one but I’m also replacing the faucet. I disconnected the old copper tube to the water source but I’m unable to reconnect the new one! The old one has a nut the turns but won’t come off! Can you assist?
@@YourReviewChannel I called the manufacturer and she told me to get some 1/4 inch tubing control valve. I went to Home Depot and they had no clue what I was talking about eventho I brought the old faucet to show them . I called manufacturer back and she told me to get brass nut, ferrule and brass insert. I ended up going to a plumbing store and the guy game me that parts for free saying it would not be worth his paper work to charge me! I now connected the copper tube to the water pipe but where the new part is there is a water leak . Friend told me to undo it and put “plumbers tape” before screwing it back on . Will give that a try. All good . Done! Finally!
Make sure your hoses are nice and tight. They only go in one way it should not be leaking out of the tank. You could have a faulty tank hopefully that helps. Also yes some water and or steam can come out this is normal.
My problem is that the water get hot , but the flow is super minimal and then stops. Is that an issue with the tank or my dispenser? Any ideas what could cause that?
Did you perform a postmortem on the old unit to see what failed? Did the element have an open circuit? When you put a meter to it how much current was it drawing compared with the replacement unit? Were the thermostat contacts pitted or otherwise faulty, or did the heating element have a great deal of mineral scale on it, preventing efficient water heating?
Nice video.. Seems simple enough assuming one has room under the sink to reach the tank ! Curious, how often do you think tanks needs to be changed when used daily for a family of two, primarily for coffee and tea purposes ? Besides not getting hot, doesn't the tank also eventually leak and these are the two sure signs of replacement needed ? Thx.
@@YourReviewChannel Thanks. Seems like a rather short life.. Weird pricing on the 3 year warranty tank alone ($300ish) vs same tank with a dispenser ($220) vs 1 year warranty tank with dispenser ($250ish) !
The left one (blue) is the water supply that comes from the faucet when the handle is twisted. The middle one is the hot water going to the faucet. The far right one is a vent that allows air in and allows steam out (if necessary). This steam would go into the faucet and come out as drips into your sink.

Thank you so much! Waited a week for a plumber after I got the replacement from Amazon. Saw this and in less than 10 minutes I was done!
Glad it helped!

What I liked about your video; after watching several. Is that you mostly explain what all the connections/hoses are for.
I’m glad the video helped you

After how long did your tank stopped working? And what kind of filter did you install? Thanks
Around 2 to 3 years. And insinkerator has a special filter.
Thanks so much for this! I changed it myself - it felt great to be able to successfully complete the switch!
Congratulations I’m glad you found my video helpful. That’s what this channel is all about. Don’t forget to subscribe.
great video my issue on my insinkerator is the faucet leaks any video on how to unstick? thanks

Yes Deffenetly it will fail soon, And you don't want a Flood
@@YourReviewChannel Thanks indeed! I unplugged it and will be getting a new one soon...great video!
Can I use any water filter brand? Or it it has to be the same brand. Thanks
any water filter will work

Yes this is true. Don’t worry that is totally normal. Thank you for watching my video. I hope your installation went easy.
Thank you for this instructional video. I was able to replace my unit without hiring a plumber.
Super thanks. I am glad to have helped you
I am now on my second brand new tank and both are not getting hot. How is it two have failed brand new out of the box? What am i doing wrong?
Make sure you fill it with cold water before you plug it in. Because if you don’t, you’ll burn out the element and it won’t get hot. Other than that I’m not really sure what’s going on.
Do you have a video on how to replace tubes. Ours appear to be in need or replacement
We do not have a video on that. Sorry
I be looked online for a replacement tank from Amazon and Home Depot. It seems they sell the whole system. Does anyone know a site that sells the tank only? 9:02 Sept 24 2023
You can buy the tank only but it’s more expensive. You better off buying the whole kit believe it or not.
Great video! How much do these replacement tanks normally cost? Looks like they are close to $300? That's not far from the original cost of the whole unit! 😞
That’s 100% right, better off buying a whole new unit
Great video! Is there a reason you don't turn off the water on the old tank and then drain it through the tap before removing?
Not necessary you can just take it out and drain it in the sink
Thanks for the video.I am having the same situation.I will do it myself. plumber asked $250 for the installation fee. Basically, it is changing 3 tubes. OMG
Glade to help. Buy Me A Coffee www.buymeacoffee.com/yourreviewchannel
does the valve need to separately from the main water input? my sink doesn't have 2 separate inputs
No it does not. You can add a T value off the Cold War supply
Thank you this was helpful and looks easy...I am off to install my new tank....
Glad it helped

I would need to see a photo. Try to turn the nut off with us pliers but be careful. The new tank and hoses is very easily to install

I've repaired my Insinkerator under sink hot water boiler and replaced the piped but I'm not getting the water to run. Why not?
Not sure why
Is water supposed to come out of the vent line that it pops out the hose from the fitting? How can I fix that?
Make sure your hoses are nice and tight. They only go in one way it should not be leaking out of the tank. You could have a faulty tank hopefully that helps. Also yes some water and or steam can come out this is normal.
my insinkerator twist mob on top came loose. Is that a problem ?
It should still work

It’s possibly a clogged line or a clogged filter
Thank you. I did already change the filter but no luck there. I’m just hoping to avoid buying a new tank or head.
This was just FANTASTIC.
Thank you for watching
Great how to do video ❤

Yes
