Yes, let’s get on a dancehall reggae run!!
I second that
*old school dance hall reggae.
Buy buh
This takes me back to high school! I bumped this everywhere for a whole summer 😂🔥
The lady in the gold ensemble is known as 'Carleen The Dancehall Queen'. She was the first internationally recognized Dancehall Queen. 🇯🇲🇯🇲 Putting my lighter up.🔥 Big up to Sly & Robbie who created that iconic riddim! Chaka Demus and Pliers also did an iconic remake/cover version of a Toots and The Maytals song called "Bam Bam".
If you love this (Santa Barbara) riddim You should check out another Sly & Robbie production, "Pull Up To My Bumper" by Grace Jones.
“Tease Me”…is the Chaka Demus & Pliers song you really need to react to…no way you’ll be able to sit still!
Black America has their culture, the Caribbean ( West Indian) has this .. love my culture 🇯🇲🇯🇲
I danced to this song in the club sooooo many times. Glad you guys did this one - it gave me some nostalgia.
This is nostalgic for sure. Now we need some Sister Nancy, and some Wayne Wonder
You have to remember back in the 70s and 80s youth in the UK, Reggae was bigger than soul or the beginning of hip hop generation. I was brought up in 60s and 70s inner city Manchester UK,my family are Irish, my neighbours either side of me were West Indian. So iam a bit surprised that more people from your side of the POND don't react to more Reggae. Thanks for cool reaction.
Most people never saw the original video of this song it was very low budget but was put together pretty well and I saw it on a show in the 90s called Caribbean rhythms.
Video Music Box, The Box, and most local TV stations in New York had this on rotation everyday, all day.
This song is in the movie "SAVE THE LAST DANCE" THE MOVIE SOUNDTRACK IS AWESOME
It is ? Lol . All I know is if and jo jo l9l
oh man this is one of my favorite songs in the world so glad to see you guys watching it
I met them in 1992 or 93 along with Shabba Ranks, Cutty Ranks, Supercat and others at the Notting Hill carnival.
My mate lived next door to David Rodigan and he invited us along to carnival to hang on the Kiss float, then various after parties.
I was 16 and will never forget it.
Sweet! Hadn’t seen anyone else react to this classic. Thanks for helping me revisit my young adolescence.
6:26 that dance you pointed out BJ is what we call the butterfly. Nuh worry Asia, you can learn lol. Big up goldie, Carlene the Dancehall Queen. "Murder She Wrote" peaked at #5 on the Hot Rap Songs chart back in 1993. Please react to Super Cat - "Dolly My Baby", Buju Banton - "Wanna Be Loved," Wayne Wonder - "No Letting Go," and Maxi Priest - "That Girl (feat Shaggy)."
She don’t let Nobody. Is another great song from them ✌️
I had to look in on this one. I haven't even thought of Chaka Demus & Pliers in so many years. Someone in my past told me about them but I have too many songs in my playlist (in the thousands) that, sometimes, great new music gets squeezed out. I did recognize the song and love the video so I'm going to have to re-insert CD&P back into the playlist and look into more content from them. Thanks for posting your reaction.
Here's a fun fact that is not the original music video. The original video was a homemade music video. When the song got more popular they redone it
I ADORE this song!!!
OMFG its been 30 years since this?!?!?!? I feel old now 😭😂
Remember listening to this in high school here in Spain, at the time *NOBODY* was listening to dancehall/ragga.
I haven't heard that song since like the 90's!!!!! Yassss!!!! Omg, thank you!!!!
Loved it, never heard it before, hey Asia go for it, it more organic, just roll with it. I lived in Nigeria for a while as a child, and they had a dance party televised once a week, and people just dance how they wanted. I also hung out with the Caribbeans in London as a young woman, went to Notting Hill Carnival fantastic. Love my time there love the music. There was alot of their musical influence in music around 1980 in England.
How did I miss this one? Loved this song growing up.
This and Bam Bam (Sister Nancy).
Aw man guys let's go old school reggae let's do some mad cobra, born jamericans, redd fox, shabba, Patra, anything really
Patra!!!!! Yassss. "Romantic Call" Patra & Yoyo. Worker Man, Queen of the Pac!!!!!
You feelin it, love that! Thanks for this reaction y'all, it's great seeing you guys getting into it - Cali
Omg that’s my shiz! Y’all need to get on more of this.
I'll never forget Chaka Demus & pliers. The Best!
Nice guys...reggae recommendation- Sean paul, beenie man, shabba ranks, T.O.K, Diana King, Capleton, shaggy, Ini Kamoze, and some room for UB40
Got their album ! ..I've dance a loooot on it !
6:28 talking about the Tootsie roll. Now you got me thinking about the 69 Boyz Tootsie roll song! Good memories.
Love this!
Look up the lyrics to this song. It's about a woman who is just rachet and eventually gets an abortion.
Chaka Demus and Pliers to me are the greatest Dancehall Reggae duo in the world.
Vibing to this song despite getting to know what it talks about.🤫
Oh I fucking loved these 2, dance hall was huge in the uk early 2000, so many carribean dance halls and so much fun. Dunno if they're still around now
That hip replacement at 40 years old is all them childhood sports bro. Same thing here 40 years old and had total hip reconstruction, for playing every sport every year, never would I take it back though.
Yessss! Please dive into Caribbean music!!! Soca, Dancehall, Reggae, Calypso, etc!
first heard it from the movie 'Save the Last Dance' which has an excellent sound track
A$AP Rocky & Rod Stewart… “Everyday” it’s cover of an old Rod Stewart sing with Rod sing background and some lead
😂😂😂😂she said i dont wanna say it look bad lol , jamaican be wyldin in dance XRta SUper
Please react "Remember When" by Color me Badd. Color Me Badd was formed in 1985 and awarded as "Best RNB/Soul boyband" during early 90s. They are one of the most underrated boyband but one of the greatest! "Remember When" was already their last song album before they were disbanded in 1998
Don’t matter that I don’t know this song… the music started… and boom… my feet, my legs, my whole body is up and dancing!!!
As someone born in the early 70s the butterfly was before the tootsie roll dance which is just a American version of it to me.
This was the jam
I would like to see you guys react to Buju Banton's "I wanna be loved"
“Tease me”was their jam! I don’t know who recommended this one first??? Please do Tease Me next!!!! 👏🏻❤️
that dance was called the butterfly. u never heard of it back in the 90's?
Murder She Wrote is a show starring Angela Lansbury.
Yes 🎶🎶🎶🏴✌️❤️

React to General Levy incredible, it's Jamaican/uk
Love it, you got to do supercat- dolly my baby
Shabba ranks, Petra, super cat, Wayne Wonder, Sean Paul, sister Nancy, Barrington Levy, Junior Reid. Any of these artists would be great choices to go down a reggae rabbit hole. Happy hunting and as always keep up the good work 💯🔥
Supercat should be next!
"A pretty face and bad character
Dem the kinda livin' can't hold Chaka, follow me!
A pretty face and bad character

Love this song while in school. The dance BJ speaking about is called the butterfly. Chakademus and Pliers are Dancehall Legand. Since you into Caribbean Music right now can I interest you to some Soca music from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 . For a little taste check out Nessa Preppy "Issa Snack" WARNING ⚠️ Asia you might loose BJ on this one. Or Patrice Roberts "Tender"

Hi! You two beautiful people : thank You for all Your videos an all Your work! I know I am only a subsciber.. but : would You , please , do a reaction to Bjørk : "Play dead" ? ..I know many people find Her and Her music "weird" ..but in this song You can clearly identify Her unique music style and voice abilities ..with a charming Icelandic accent. : if You will , I believe You will be the first one on Y.T. : )
Nice you guys are the first I seen reacting to Regué…. About time, check out Kevin Little “ turn me on”, cheers

Please react to the new version of My Funny Valentine by Angelina Jordan, at 16 years old, released February 14. This is perhaps her best vocal perfomance to date, in my opinión ua-cam.com/video/bWiLOnHJYxg/v-deo.html
What did Asia just say?!?! It’s not African it’s Jamaican which is in the Carribean get it right Asia!
Eh? This is the first time you hearing this? This song was played so much I hated it with my entire soul. But good look though. 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
'i, actually met them the whole group, it was a family gathering, and they played us all their songs all night long, and when 'i, sat down to eat 'i, called them over to eat and drink and relax they joined me, and we talked, and found out the original singer had passed away. this was many years ago it was an old BARN building where they played their songs and we sat and ate... good memories of them... brilliant group of the 80's and 90's...
