If you have low access to coal, make a campfire to cook your food. It uses no fuel. Also, kelp blocks make excellent fuel, and they're a free resource in an island environment.
To get a villager you could always wait for a zombie villager then trap it. Then get a witch and trap it next to it and then stand near the witch and villager and wait for it to poison you and then it will throw weakness on you and the zombie villager and then gapple it and bam! Loving the content as well. Your voice is really soothing ❤
