You two are great. I like the way you bounce off eachother. Toyah, you still have a brilliant voice and Robert is a fantastic guitarist. Toyah you're in great shape, and look very fit.
Thanks to you both, Robert the legend guitarist and Toyah the beautiful and very multi talented gorgeous lady that she is. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Thanks for answering my question Toyah n Robert... No matter how you spend your future..I hope you are both happy . That’s all that matters, and of course you being on UA-cam.
"My wife would rather be out working." Deadpan delivery and perfect timing. You guys could be a wonderful comedy couple. I can't believe I actually heard the difference in those picks!! Toyah!! You let thee cat out of the bag!! Explains the tattoos!
I loved your Sunday morning videos. But I love you both, even more, watching this video!! I had no idea who you both are and your history!! Thank you, Jason form USA
Again, as every week, heart warming, interresting and so much fun. Thank you both for inviting us in ;-) Thank you for pointing out Sarah Pinskers book A Song for a new Day last week. Great reading from the beginning. Nice to know you recommended it, too ;-)
Nice to know that original Les Paul is still in your hands, Robert. I’m sure the tortoise that gave up its shell for your pick would be honored to know it made a contribution to British progressive rock for over a half century. 💞🎸. Apologies, Toyah’s contributions to this episode were hilarious and deeply candid. 💞😄
On May 16, 2009, I had the pleasure of watching Allan Holdsworth perform at the Winchester in Lakewood, Ohio. During a break by the band, I had the chance to ask Allan a question. Somewhat gobsmacked at this opportunity, the only thing I could think to ask him was ¨Have you ever recorded with Robert Fripp?¨ His answer: ¨I never met him¨. In my head and heart, that moment saddens me to this day.
As predominantly a finger and nail style player, I was most interested to learn of the incredible difference in tone between the tortoise shell and the plastic picks but it makes logical sense that the firmer the material the more power that will be transfered to the string, however you wouldn't go to hard as the strings are not going to last too long with steel. That said Brian Mays picks are coins so there must be some usable metals for the job. Here's to fun exploring. Many thanks again TOYAH and ROBERT. 2 of my heroes share there info and stories and for us fans thats anything but useless information. Highly appreciated information actually for the record.
(our master bass player and hero) Tony Levin is such a passionate photographer and gear nerd, he once struck out a conversation with my brother about his photo gear after a Stick Men gig
,HEY, TOYAH & ROBERT Hello from Vermont USA I Love Your Show you give so Much great information to performers about your experiences wich helpers them (me) to understand this business of show Business so thank you so very much love you both p.s. TOYAH you get more beautiful everyday and Robert your more distinguished looking every year
Love your recollections and humor while sharing your history. Regarding tortoise shell plectrums, check out the Dunlop primetone series. Looking forward to your next posting. 🍸🍸
Toyah you are right, you both have so much still to do and say, Millions of views demonstrates that. Which proves you are also wrong - neither of you have anything left to prove. You've won the hearts and minds. Hope you know how much you are appreciated and the value you add to people's lives. 🙏
Very nice episode of Agony Aunts. Thanks. Q for Mr. Fripp: did you ever work with Steve Hackett or would you like to? Or could Toyah speak about her experience with Tony Banks or maybe do perform Lion of Symmetry on a Sunday lunch?
Concert photography was always a great part of my life. I've never ever used a flash because it would destroy the magic of the moment which I want to capture and of course I didn't want destract the artists. Guess I've done something right because some artists preferred my photos over the professional ones.
It is so funny I dream of being a full time artist but I HAVE done all 3 of the things that Toyah said she may never do BIG SUR is amazing so we are all blessed in our own ways I guess.
Hello, I enjoy seeing your weekly videos. Thank you. I miss John Wetton, I am sure many others do as well. Please tell us a peculiar or funny story about your time with John. Also, please consider playing one of this songs written after his time with King Crimson during your Sunday show. Thank you!
My Rolling Stones story is I gave away my Wembley stadium Stones ticket to be able to see Toyah! for a second time at Hammersmith Odeon on the Changeling tour. Phil Spalding was my biggest influence as a bassist (I did want to see Toyah too). Never regretted that decision.
As a professional photographer the first three songs it’s fine we always tell the audience we’re only gonna be there for three songs and then we’re gonna leave as far as people on stage we respect them but we are helping to promote them by getting great photographs and any professional photographer knows you don’t use the flash!
Years ago I saw Roger Waters perform the wall in Philly and before the show he came out and asked everyone to take as many pics as you want but please no flashes
QUESTION for Toyah and Robert: There are 3 songs that Robert produced and played on that I can easily listen to hundreds of time in a row. "Girl on a Swing" from the 1st Fripp/Summers LP; "Losing True" and "Keep on Doing" by The Roches. They're so beautiful. My question is - how often should I take breaks to have a snack? Gordon from Montreal Canada.
Yep. Being in the audience with someone's cell phone in front of your face, blocking the show, sucks as well. Now I have a 21st Century Bollocks Man earworm!
A question for Toyah... Many years ago I seem to remember hearing you talk about how you used a special book to help you cope with very bad nightmares you were having! Am I dreaming or is this true... Much love
I thought that Toyah's gemstone necklace was stunning. I'm guessing either blue topaz or aquamarine? And you two should do a travelogue together of the Route 66 trip.
A question for Robert: Has he ever been an admirer of country and western "pickers" such as Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, and Buck Owens? Also, was Robert, like Jimi Hendrix, a fan of Western swing? It would be neat to hear Robert play something like "San Antonio Rose".
A Christmas album yes...sounds good to me.....I donate my song It's nearly Christmas...by the Nigh..a 3 chord wonder...prob' would of been a hit in the 70s ...
Just for a second my heart gave a leap. Starless? Elton would kill it. Poseiden ditto. There's a parallel world where it's happening. Please send directions immediately
Speaking about photographers: Most professionals are normaly going away after 10 - 15 Minutes. Those Idiots in front of me holding their phones up for filming the entire show do not go away. And i f...g hate it.
Huh. I would have thought that the material of a pick wouldn't make enough difference to notice, given everything else that goes into playing a guitar.
Brian May of Queen uses old sixpences as picks. This could result from having to use whatever was available; he built his guitar from scratch so probably didn't have purpose-built picks.
I am a senior who picked up guitar quite late. I am currently trying to self-teach guitar, piano and music theory. Is this a worthwhile venture at my age and, if so, what advice would you give to help me through the harder times when all you want to do is shout bollocks. (We actually say something different here, but this is polite company). BTW, I caught Robert's "An Evening with King Crimson" show in Victoria, BC and thoroughly loved it. Probably one of the most moving evenings of music I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
Learning at instrument is always worth it at any age. Just be patient and try to practice at least 30 min a day, preferably longer. And make sure you're practicing the right things - I recommend getting an instructor, but if not, get some chord and scale books and watch lots of instructional videos on UA-cam.
As a amateur photographer I don't understand why other photographers use their photo flashes during concerts. Myself I really do enjoy bringing my semi-professional Canon camera to shows but I never take photos with the flash mounted. I prefer working with shutter speed, ISO and the aperture. I also take multiple shots for every photo, so I can use less shutter speed when needed. But I seldom attend concerts without photo opportunities.
Toyah & Robert, both Kayne West and Chance the Rapper are both Artists and Businessmen. I think the paradigm has changed, but the "Music business" needs to move into the 21st century.
Thank you both again for your insight and words of wisdom...
You two are great. I like the way you bounce off eachother.
Toyah, you still have a brilliant voice and Robert is a fantastic guitarist.
Toyah you're in great shape, and look very fit.
What lovely human beings you are, thanks.

Thanks for answering my question Toyah n Robert...
No matter how you spend your future..I hope you are both happy .
That’s all that matters, and of course you being on UA-cam.
What a wonderful gift that both of you are providing to your audience!.
Thanks and keep moving forward
I love love love you both. Cheers and thank you for being quite refreshing.
"My wife would rather be out working." Deadpan delivery and perfect timing. You guys could be a wonderful comedy couple. I can't believe I actually heard the difference in those picks!! Toyah!! You let thee cat out of the bag!! Explains the tattoos!
Bob, I’m glad you got the custom out of the case, it sounds so good! Toyah, thanks for setting up all of these you tube shows!
I loved your Sunday morning videos. But I love you both, even more, watching this video!! I had no idea who you both are and your history!! Thank you, Jason form USA

Always a joy to see you two as well as that lovely 50's Les Paul Custom.
Thank you. You both are the best.
Again, as every week, heart warming, interresting and so much fun. Thank you both for inviting us in ;-) Thank you for pointing out Sarah Pinskers book A Song for a new Day last week. Great reading from the beginning. Nice to know you recommended it, too ;-)

I really enjoy your videos. You seem to be very nice people and I hope you continue on with your videos. Thanks for your time and effort. God Bless!!
7:02 Absolutely! My favourite Bowie line is "I am a DJ, I am what I play" and the same limitation applies to photographers.
would love to see you both perform together, come on over to the New Day Festival. a perfect match
I just love you both what a lovely couple you are. Be safe and enjoy life to the fullest!!!
Most enjoyable, especially those little name dropping sections and the story of the tortoise shell pick! I was rivited!
Nice to know that original Les Paul is still in your hands, Robert. Toyah bring back the 80's....if your music is sweet...bring it out.
Let's get back to good tunes and crazy music vids lol.
Love the sound of that Les Paul.
the best out there
Awesome as always! Thanks for sharing
Request: "How High The Moon" by Les Paul & Mary Ford
These are so much fun, thank you!

I love you both your bloody fabuloolìous 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Love you guys!! . . .. . ."My wife is not a nag but she'll do until one turns up!" 😄 😄 😄
Thanks again for answering one of my questions a second time. 👍
Thanks!
You are so talented and beautiful Toyah.
Cheers from Mestengo in Boston
I am sooo sharing you with those I love.
@3:25- I kind of wondered about that listening to "The Great Deceiver" Box set .🗿🌴
Happy 2021 you two.
There it is. The classic Fripp Gibson guitar. I really hoped he still had it, and now we know. Wow!
Love you two!!!!
Love what you do.❤️❤️❤️

Hello can't wait to see the video Toyah
Soo much fun in spontaneity. Rave on
Can’t wait to hear “Tortoise Shell As Pick” Part II
Still the best thing on the internet!
Please cover the old gray mare. You can play the old gray mare....
Brilliant!
Toyah is not only a talented performer, she could be on a talk show as well. She’s so comfortable!
Toyah DEFINITELY should have a talk show. Love these two. Rockers in their sixties are more entertaining than the sixties were.
Request: Can Robert play Sky Saw? Always found that track fascinating.
Years ago I saw Roger Waters perform the wall in Philly and before the show he came out and asked everyone to take as many pics as you want but please no flashes
Your guys rock 👍

Great couple!!
So the artists I remember being mentioned were Madonna, Elton, Greg Lake, Brian Ferry..... who did I miss?
I know who I missed now.
Yep. Being in the audience with someone's cell phone in front of your face, blocking the show, sucks as well. Now I have a 21st Century Bollocks Man earworm!
Brilliant!. Every one a winner. Sounds like a song title? mmmmm
When will the King Crimson Concert film be released? Remember seeing promos for it and.....??
Bollocks is my favourite word too! 👍
A question for Toyah... Many years ago I seem to remember hearing you talk about how you used a special book to help you cope with very bad nightmares you were having! Am I dreaming or is this true... Much love

Yay! Perfect entertainment
Talking about Toyah´s "Desire" album: Is it Robert on the front cover picture?
Princess Tippy Toes🤣😂🤣❤️❤️☮️🕉️
QUESTION: What does Robert think of Jaco Pastorius?
I live for Robert Fripp's frustrated hyperventilation. It makes me laugh! :)
Just for a second my heart gave a leap. Starless? Elton would kill it. Poseiden ditto. There's a parallel world where it's happening. Please send directions immediately
“My wife is not a nag, she just plays one on the Internet” 😆

Totally sympathise.
It's illegal to use a mobile phone whilst driving. The same rule should apply at concert venues.
18/7 ?
Hi Toyah! Absolutely off topic but I adore that pendant. Where did you get it? Bye for now! Xx
What about Save Your Love?
Huh. I would have thought that the material of a pick wouldn't make enough difference to notice, given everything else that goes into playing a guitar.
Brian May of Queen uses old sixpences as picks. This could result from having to use whatever was available; he built his guitar from scratch so probably didn't have purpose-built picks.
Material, shape (pointiness) and thickness can all make a *huge* difference! Especially in the initial attack but also the overall tone produced.
not so much to the listener, but significant for the player. which inspires different musical ideas.
I am a senior who picked up guitar quite late. I am currently trying to self-teach guitar, piano and music theory. Is this a worthwhile venture at my age and, if so, what advice would you give to help me through the harder times when all you want to do is shout bollocks. I want that buddha necklace! 🤗
Do you guys have any tips for teenagers that are looking to go into the music industry?
Why doesn't Robert play a Robert Fripp model from Crimson guitars???
Robert... are you playing a Gibson Les Paul Guitar...?
That Lester sounded particularly good.
can we have Search & Destroy as a cover? x
YAY!!
Dear Toyah and Robert. My wife has a rainbow Punk Zebra Cushion she name Wilcox (after Toyah) Can you advise what I should do?
Kris
Toyah & Robert, both Kayne West and Chance the Rapper are both Artists and Businessmen. I think the paradigm has changed, but the "Music business" needs to move into the 21st century.
❤️
Sounds like you 2 need to do some theatrical bits on Sunday instead of music bits. Check off that bucket list.
Elton would be TERRIBLE with King Crimson!!! How can you not see that?!?!
Jakko Jacksyk is terrible with King Crimson, because he too, is the wrong person for the band. A fine performer...maybe in a yacht-rock band.
I like beer and I like ice cream but somethings aren't meant to be consumed together. This applies to Crimson and Elton.
@@chazblitz Fripp knew it and Elton does too
The eleventh commandment should be "Though shalt not be a voyeur ".
