In early 2000's I'd wake up hearing this theme cause my dad is always playing this at mornings. I can even hear this just before my dreaming is finished XD
I used to go to Olympic arcade in Rochester, NY, and the Tetris machine was the loudest game in the place. No matter what game you were playing, this glorious song would be ringing out in the background.
I recently went to a local arcade and played tetris, and i got hooked. I bought tetris on my phone and i have gotten really good. This song is way better than Korebinki,
For several years I was frequenting a small hotel in Italy. They had an arcade room with several pinball tables, a Hang On 95 and King of Fighters 95 cabinet and this wonderful game, out of which I used to play the living fuck. Great memories.
@piccard1976 The machines that played the song differently, were, in fact, I think they were bootleg versions with the sound chips (2xAtari POKEY) replaced with different sound chips (3xTexas Instruments SN76489), but shared the same sound roms with the original version. One of the two bootleg sets emulated in MAME is an example of a bootleg with a different sound chip. It's subtitled "(bootleg set 2)". And that might contain the alt. version of the Atari Tetris music you're looking for.
I know it's 6 years later and you may never see this comment. But just in case, the composer, Brad Fuller said this song was written in honor of the game's programmer, Ed Logg, hence the name Loginska. It is an original piece of music for this and the unlicensed NES version by Tengen.
Growing up if an arcade had Tetris, you could easily tell. Now arcades aren't what they used to be and they just don't have addicting games like Tetris anymore (at least around my area they don't).
@virtualboy2558 I'm not sure if there is I'm afraid but as soon as I know different I'll let you know on it. Yes this requires MAME to play which is free and safe to use but I understand emulation isn't everyone's cup of tea, from copyright laws to being completely against it and so forth but it's always worked for me and given me fresh ideas, this channel being one of them.
I used to go to a college with a Tetris machine - MAYBE not the actual cabinet, but the boards [circuit boards] were legit enough. Wasted too much time playing this. :D [My favorite tune will always be type A from the Game Boy version, but the arcade version had a lot of great tracks too.
@Otouto72 Youth spent in the arcade is not waste regardless of infinite loss of coin. You paid for happiness and memories. You can keep those if you want.
Yeah I knew that beforehand, but i didn't name it because a couple of them I didn't know and I felt it would have been silly to only name a couple rather than all. Perhaps I should tag it. Didn't know who composed this version now so thanks for the info.
@travelsonic Yeah I spent too much time playing this too lol. The Game Boy music is always and will forever be memorable but yes the arcade tunes were superb as well.
I pefrer the nes tegen version of this theme, but to be honest they both sound exactly the same. Whats funny even the clear theme is hidden in the nes cartridge from the arcade.
@GBelair Well I was fortunate with getting the MAME32 (now MAMEUI I think) and it does the trick but I do know a few that haven't been so lucky with MAME. Once you do get it all set up and working its a terrific piece of kit but it's just a bugger to get around too.
Ahhh.... my firsy semester at SUNY Purchase in a nutshell - the student center has Tetris, Arkanoid, and a slew of other games - half busted though. >_
I just love how the song develops.

this old music makes me so peaceful because it was kept in my body and soul
THIS is the ORIGINAL tetris music!!!! ... and not the other versions in other videos. Thanks you very much!!!! :)
Oh yeah definatley a classic, one of my favourites ever.
My favourite theme!
Me transporta al pasado cuando solo pensaba en jugar. Ahora son 42 inviernos y pienso en mis niños que disfruten como yo disfruté a esa edad.
my fav Tetris song.
BEST GAME EVER WITH ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDTRACKS EVER!? COME ON MAN!
Pov: Bonus round on the arcade machine
been looking for this for quite a while. Thanks Otouto72. Brings me back those memories
1:12 that polka!!! So many childhood memories...
This one's my favorite. My sister and I gave this song with funny lyrics.
My FAVORITE Tetris (Arcade/Tengen Nintendo) theme!! Too cool for words!! If ONLY I knew the lyrics, if it HAS any!! >
there are none. only kalinka and troika have lyrics. :)
I see@@zaphod77

I'll be going now.
@oheao Its fantastic! I love this version! You have to clear a certain number of lines to progress through each level. I play this on MAME constantly!
Love it
The second part (1:11 - 1:43) sounds like the Slovak song "Tancuj, tancuj, vykrúcaj".
Wow it's exactly the same thing
@piccard1976 UPDATE: This must be the alternate version of the Tetris music that you're looking for! /watch?v=X8NkFgQ4Lbw
I've had this damn song stuck in my head all day - spent the last three hours trying to figure out where it was from :P
Was this music made exclusively for this iteration of Tetris, or is it based on a classic Russian tune? Does anyone know?
based on a classic russian tune
Yup. The OG Tetris arcade game had legit Russian tunes. Always loved the songs on this game.
I know it's 6 years later and you may never see this comment. But just in case, the composer, Brad Fuller said this song was written in honor of the game's programmer, Ed Logg, hence the name Loginska. It is an original piece of music for this and the unlicensed NES version by Tengen.
This and Bradinsky are original tunes that sound russian. They are unique to Atari (and Tengen) tetris Kalinka and Troika are actual russian tunes.
da la impresión de que estas en una competencia y a medida como se torna el sonidito tus energías más se recuperan osea como que vas de - a +
You said it perfectly. =) All the music is terrific.

고급진 bgm
No problem, glad I could assist with your findings :)
i remember this theme over 20 years ago
Does this song actually come from a RUSSIAN FOLK song? If so, what are the lyrics and what do they mean? (I'm VERY intrigued by this song, BTW!!)
the future of ringtones
If any of you guys like this kind of sounds. Try typing in "Zelda Skull Dungeon" on this site. It's the same yet new to our vibrant listeners ;)

@gwgux I'm enclined to agree with you. Games nowadays are nowhere near as addicting as Tetris.
@Zooropa420 Oh yeah it was always a joy walking into an arcade machine and hearing the tetris music! =)
I used to go to a college with a Tetris machine - MAYBE not the actual cabinet, but the boards [circuit boards] were legit enough.

BugDc somos 2 😉
I used to play this all the time at the arcade at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. I think the highest level I got up to was maybe level 11 or 12.
@naipeadicto I love all of these tunes, I think Kalinka would be my favourite.....I think lol....but all of the music here is superb.
i remember this in the year 1999
legendary
for me the best tetris theme ever (sorry my english)
@Zooropa420 atetris is what you are looking for then - Tetris (set 1) is the parent. Hope this helps.
love that speed up
Finnally, i found the best tetris song!
i love this song
@MajorLeaguerAnubius All the tunes from this version are amazing, of course the Game Boy version got more credit but I always loved the arcade music.
great music, great videogame,
@whiteechidna I was a little young when I played it on the Arcade. I really got into it via MAME! Doesn't beat the Game Boy version though.
@Otouto72
Yes, for MAME. I grabbed a couple Tetris, but none of them are this version.
Exciting chiptune music ...
@travelsonic Yeah I spent too much time playing this too lol. The Game Boy music is always and will forever be memorable but yes the arcade tunes were superb as well.
@Veralitones Yeah this is awesome and this arcade version is fantastic, I played this a lot growing up....wasting a lot of coins in the process. =)
@MajorLeaguerAnubius Probably in Russian lol! I love this music in the Arcade Tetris.
love the music
@KatiushaVN4 All these tunes are great, not sure what I'd pick as a favourite.
ist auch eine schöne melodie ;)
Haha that was my favorite BGM.....😂😂😂😂😂😂
I pefrer the nes tegen version of this theme, but to be honest they both sound exactly the same. Whats funny even the clear theme is hidden in the nes cartridge from the arcade.
I remember playing this on the Mame 32 arcade emulator an a windows 95
@whiteechidna I used to go to SUNY Purchase - they had Tetris [arcade vers.], it was fun.

Some one please rap off of this beat that would be so awesome Lol

@Otouto72 I see. Thank you. Also, I agree!
@nathantech77 I play this on MAME32 (or MAMEGUI I think it's called now) from time to time, always a great game to play. =)

@Zooropa420 On MAME do you mean Zooropa?
ANyone know the title to THIS romset? There's a lot of different tetris ones, but I'd like this one.
@travelsonic Cool! Pity they are half-busted though =(
