The only thing that seems nostalgic is the lack of instrument noises that are completely missing. Hats off to you for replicating the sound comparable to my first laptop with a dedicated sound card. Back when laptop also meant that once it was on your lap, there was no taking it off, cause you might break your arms from trying to heave it back onto the table.
I imagine this song to play in the tutorial of Microsoft Windows: the video game, adding more instruments as the tutorial goes on, kind of like the Splatoon tutorial.
i had 3 old computers in grandpa's work: Windows 95 PLUS (Most used by him), Windows 98 and Windows XP. I didn't know about midi, now i know. But he selled these computers, now only i have virtual machines.
Well, this aged well. There's a... Pretty much a revival/mod/redux called midis2jam2 that pretty much adds more instruments and gives the program a sort of new, nuanced look.
Please though, use a better video capture app, like OBS studio which is free and doesn't add any silly watermarks proudly showing what was used to record the screen.
Yeah, I think this is kinda my fault for leaving it on autopilot. I'm not sure if MIDIJam actually HAS a cuica animated yet. It just might, but I'm not sure.
PASSPORT.MID (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
Disappointed that a whole orchestra didn't appear at the last second for the "orchestra hit" sound
It's a single MIDI patch, that uses a single MIDI channel. That's probably why.

its because windows midi sounds are shitty
I'm only impressed by how your computer can handle Bandicam like that.
Yeah. Sorry if it's not HD. I'll try to do HD in the future, you know. For references.
fancy meeting you here.
I've been a fan of Black MIDI as long as I can remember.
George Greener what is your favorite song
@@Alex-ul5xd Where do I start?
this goes way harder than it should daym.
memories of watching animusic in elementary school lol
Well, I mean, MIDIJam does kind of resemble Animusic in a way.
Exactly, but
it’s a very watered down/minimal version of it.
In a sense, sort of.
@@GreenBoy9000 oh my god so it was called animusic, I was thinking about it right this moment’
PASSPORT.MID, the nostalgia is quite real.
Yes. Yes it is.

The bass line is sick in this song!
So I'm not the only one who's thought of this. I have a Windows 98 install CD somewhere and I found all the MIDIs in one of the cab files.

By the way I have got a Windows 95 laptop but it doesn’t have a sound card

"blamo" -the kick drum
Ah, yes. One of my favorite drum brands.... Blamo.
You should have used the number keys to direct the camera angles based on what instrument was playing.
Yeah, I know.
Well, hindsight is 20/20. Sorry if you've been doing the number key cameras in your more recent videos; I just came across this today.
@@dogman15 It's okay.
what's the instrument that only plays around 1:57? the one that sounds like "ha ha ha hoo hoo"
That is a cuica.
Cuicas don't have assets in MIDIJam but you still hear their sound.
I believe it's an instrument in the drum kit as far as midi goes
