depends on the nature of the industry your company operates within... for example, hospitality uses software specific to managing a hotel so customer accounts, room operations, event operations and AP/AR are syndicated in the same platforms. Construction, biotech, higher education, all of these industries utilize different softwares. Newer companies I have seen tend to use Quickbooks and NetSuite. Excel is a common denominator in taking notes and creating reports.
