Interesting. I believe riding a dirt bike is one of the best workouts period. I have a Garmin Forerunner 965 and have used it and Peleton bike, guide and treadmill as my trainer for the last 3 years.
Having followed you for at least a year now I just want you to know Morgan that you’ve been killing it, it’s okay for you to have some pride with the progress you’ve made physically, and everything else you’ve done!
Back when i was training to build muscle mass i did all the free weight stuff and cable but i think a big takeaway from it was to focus on building your core from the kneecaps up to the bottom of your chest and everything else will follow, but like I said i was working all muscle groups as well good luck on it all. I’ll be watching🔥
That is all pretty cool. Too bad they wouldn't allow you to perform the max HR stress test but we do that everyday we ride/race anyway. I love my Garmin HR chest strap for getting accurate readings both while riding and while exercising. Wrist sensors like the Fitbit aren't that good for capturing the high heart rates. And I "really really really" like my Concept 2 rowing machine. Been using that rower for years and hands down it is the BEST for staying in shape for moto. I can easily hit 175-180 bpm on that rower and I'm in my mid-50s. I think the 220-age thing is for people who are out of shape. You can swap out the rowing handle with Renthals if you want the same grip width. A Concept 2 would be perfect in your home warehouse. You could start a Highland Cycles "team" on the Concept 2 logbook. Anyway, that's a lot of babbling, I know you're busy, have a good day!
You should check out “Training for the Uphill Athlete” by Steve House. I can bring it by your shop. The premise is higher quantities of z2 training yield the greatest results for endurance events. I think this can apply to dirtbiking because your heart rate would rarely spike, leaving you feel fresher throughout the day. The is also a self test for finding your aeroebic and lactate threshold. It is very close in practice to blood tests. The row machine seems like an ideal training device for dirtbiking. I can bring the book by your shop. Matt
This is great. I’ve been taking a deep dive myself and the piece I’m missing is baseline metrics.
Very cool stuff. 🤘
I look forward to watching the upcoming fitness program episodes! Motivation here we come! Ha ha
Heck yeah!

Looking good, haven’t been in the shop since June
Being an exercise science nerd, I am super excited for you and can't wait to watch more of your journey!
The 220 - age is spot on for me... and I'm not the average joe. 1000 pulls in 30min. Turning 60 on sunday 😊
I would love to have those tests done, you motivated me to only have a small bowl of ice cream tonight.🤣🤘
That’s the spirit!

I love the rower too but this dumb hand is keeping me from that for now
@ Right on. Hope it feels solid real soon.

I would love to check it out. I actually know Steve. He was a customer here while he lived in Ridgway. Great guy.
Hows the VO2 max compare to the estimated value on the Garmin watch?
My watch doesn’t do VO2 max without more info (power on bike)
Any idea how to find testing like this near me?
I don’t know.
Google search VO2 Max testing near me
Does the cast count in your weight?... 🤣
Hahahaha
Eat Elk one gram per lbs of body weight and avocados.
Now you're just being mean since I didn't kill one this year hahahha
Guaranteed I would flunk...
