Shokuji Akai I think it's supposed to be in a way. It's the designer telling the player to find what works, find what kills ; and then find out how to avoid it and beat. It's the meta. It's entirely generated by ingenious players who analyze the game... and then try and win every single time. The game is for them... not us casuals. Dang, too.. 'cause it looks like so much fun. ;D
The stupid pop off aside. I believe that too. It's like he was left in the 6-7 month stage of the game because he was falling for the same mix-ups constantly and he was dropping combos with Nova that should easily kill characters. It sucks too because he has interesting tech for dealing with Dark Phoenix incoming but he made so many mistakes even that didn't matter.
Filipino is one of the few players using the psychologic battle, and this is is important, that makes me respect him even if it can be an unsportsmanlike conduct. Love the T-bag.
When people come to the defense of those who act with a blatant disregard for others it just baffles me. It's like the only line you can cross with assholes is telling other assholes to stop being assholes. Weird how that works out.
I like Fchamp. Attitude and all. When you are at the top of anything sometimes its ok to talk smack. Its adds excitement to your matches but only when you back it up. And that dude, Champ, is the fuckin man when it comes to umvc3.
Not exactly. Infrit did style a little against FChamp during the Grand Finals, but after Ryan got the reset from losers, he spent about 30 seconds playing with his hands "calling on the powers" in an imitation of Dormammu. So Champ was also a bit disrespectful.
While no one can really tell whether FChamp's attitude is genuine or not, it's still a personal choice to the viewer to be affected by it or not, to rage at him about it or to take it all in stride. What can't be denied is that it certainly adds drama and interest to a match. It's hella fun to watch people clamor for him to lose, but when the camera stops rolling, and the game's over, let it go already.
That's not to say I necessarily approve of Champ's behavior. Both my friend and I agree that the way too many people act in the FGC is reprehensible and a big part of the reason why our community doesn't grow more. But I actually got a chance to see Champ play live at the NW Majors and he seemed rather civil; didn't even posture after he won the tournament. Also gave me his autograph without any posturing. I think he's a good guy underneath the act, and context is needed to fully understand it.
was infrit just having a bad day or something? last i checked he was a decent player. this set made him look like a scrub. i was expecting both of them to take at least 5 games
The hatred for Filipino Champ is unreal, honestly I think he's a good player because he shows time and dedication through his combos and where he currently is in the FGC. But seriously though, if you guys have the right to talk smack to him, practice up and ask him for a match... if you win then by all means talk smack... if not, keep quiet until you can.
Yes hes a great player, thats been established but so i Justin wong and chris g but you dont see them disrespect their opponents the way filipino does.
He didn't "give out" autographs. I went up to him, asked if he'd mind giving me his autograph, he said sure, and signed his name over Dormammu's picture in my instruction manual To argue that someone isn't humble because someone comes up and ASKS for his/her autograph is an oversimplification. If someone came up and asked for MY autograph I'd give it without hesitation. That doesn't mean I'm not humble; it means I'm giving someone something they asked for. To NOT give the autograph would be rude
Well I think it's actually a little more complicated than that. Yes, Champ was being an asshole after this match was over, but I happen to know someone--goes by Ebonic Plague--who was at that tournament. (I actually loaned him the money to go.) When I asked him about Champ's posturing, not only did he inform me that it was an act--and that FChamp actually enjoys playing the heel in the community--but that Infrit was aware of it too. So more than likely Infrit wasn't offended by Champ's BS.
I doubt it's the teabagging that makes people not want to join the FGC, but the steep learning curve that people don't want to devote time to. People would rather run and gun in an FPS than learn the mechanics of a fighting game.
I wonder if maybe Champ was having a bad day. Because as disrespectful as he was, he seemed genuinely pissed off that they asked him to play Infrit and he bodied him so easily. It's extremely rude and Champ is arrogant--no argument there--but to me it seemed like he was more upset at the crowd for asking him to play him than trying to put Infrit "in his place."
Damn the end. I was about to hit back for Spooky videos but fuck Champ. I honestly think we knew what could say. The games said it all and not just the flaw execution but the teabagging and commentary told the story. No one needed to hear that crap at the end. It's funny how flawless he played here but made so many questionable mistakes at Evo. Nerves or not because the guy was talking about how he still believes he is a shoe in to win it.
Honestly, I still enjoy watching Champ play. He's been taking the game too seriously lately, but there's no way to know the reasons behind it. Besides, all the time he spends in this game means that he can do some stuff that is pretty sick to watch. Although, the random bitching can be toned down.
At least Yipes kept his cool during the GoldenBoyNeo vs GC Apologyman match-up. Fchump, however, did not. I would even go far to say that Yipes bodied Fchump during their commentary. Good to know you like Chump's magneto though, troll. Though Fanatiq has the best magneto.
...for the sake of doing it, it's with a smile on his face or some kind of gesture. (See EVO 2012) I still think it's uncalled for and really rude, especially considering Infrit almost beat him at EVO 2012, but frankly Infrit wasn't getting the job done like he should have. Plus Infrit's demeanor isn't necessarily respectful. That's actually just the way he is. Whether he loses or wins a round he stays completely calm and shows nothing. So he isn't necessarily being a "gentleman."
That is only partially true. I believe some of it is an act but some of it is also how he really is. Regardless, he is one of the top players in the mvc3 fgc.
It's behavior like this that makes me NOT want to play competitively. Or at all, really. It completely sucks the fun out playing. He's a disservice to the community.
Although Infrit was really bad in this set, Champ's behavior is just uncalled for. Playing a villain is one thing, but what he did was just so unsportsmanlike that it tarnishes his image. He may have won the match, but he's still a loser in my book, and despite the unprofessional behavior from Champ, Infrit's hair remains unaffected.
You guys are all calling champ a douche, and I agree, but you have to see where he's coming from. He got called into an exhibition match against Infrit, but he completely bodied Infrit (I mean, come on, the number of times Champ got a reset was sad). If it were me, I would've felt like it was a waste of time as well given how Infrit played. Champ is still a douche, though :P
Every community has it's F.Champ. EG. Idra before he 'retired' competitively in SC2. There will always be people like Ryan. And to be honest, Part of me believes he does all of this stuff purposely to rouse the spectators. He acts like a jerk for the camera - to be the villain. Some people like being loved, I think Champ loves being hated.
In evo2012, Champ wrecked Infrit making him look like he made it to finals by luck. Infrit's problem is he has no character knowledge of his team and only focuses on getting his TAC combo which makes his decision making very predictable. He never maximized his damage with Nova, dropped his combos, and doesn't use the tools he has. Just watch Evo2012 grand finals. That's the only reason people know him. I'd feel disrespected too if I fought him.
I gotta agree that Champ was being a dick, but at the same time I can see why he acted that way too. If you're a top player who is constantly looking to improve--which can only be done by playing the best of the best--and the crowd makes you play someone who feels mostly free, it's probably frustrating. If you look at Champ's face during his speech after the match, you can see he was genuinely bothered by it, not just trash talking to trash talk. Because generally when he's just doing it...TBC
no, Champ played phenomenally, and deserved the win. He's just an immature punk. Kind of not debatable there. Just look at the whole crowd behind him, deus ex a former victim of Chapm's immaturity, and the rest, almost looked embarrassed. I don't like infrit more than champ. Don't get it twisted
I FUCKING LOVE FILLIPINO CHAMP !!!!!!!!!!! BRINGS THE HYPE TO THE TABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMMMMM!!!!!!!! AND YIPES why. Are you HATING ON CHAMP 4REAL DAWG...
Just been watching the rest of curleh mustache. I can't stand how he disrespects yipes when commentating. I thought he was just playing the crowd before but now im seeing how toxic he is to the fighting game community. I love watching FC's magneto though!
A lot of you guys on here are wayyy too sensitive. Hes obviously TRYING to get under your skin. If you call him "a bad sport" or "an ahole" you are making him happy lol. You complainers would never survive in games like Ultima Online. People there will literally disrespect your dead family members just to get a reaction out of you.
Dude, let him play and win, he won't do anything else with his life. He won't have money, a good job, or any of that good stuff. You cannot live of videogames. Even Daigo, who lives in a country where gamers do get paid well, has to have a serious job to pay the bills.
Yipes KILLS me. All you hear in the background. "Here we go", "Wow".
23:30 - Magneto: "I got this bro" while Doom collapses on the ground.
F champ is hilarious. It's okay being cocky if u can back it up
LOL i love Neo's laugh through the whole thing
He was so confident that he would top 8 that he only bought a 2 day pass for EVO. Still a champ.
Is that KBR coming behind champ in the end?
Champ plays the role of a villain so perfectly.
Wow! Ryan definitely got in his head. He normally doesn't play like that. Disrespect level infinity coming from Ryan though. Crazy!
How not to be chill. A demonstration by Filipino Champ.
This game looks so broken. o.o;
Dang, too.. 'cause it looks like so much fun. ;D
what happened why fchamp is saying that? its normal or something happened between this 2
The stupid pop off aside.
Wasn’t the guy on the back a melee player?
GRAVITY SQUEEZE! hahahaha! you are DEFEATED!
Filipino is one of the few players using the psychologic battle, and this is is important, that makes me respect him even if it can be an unsportsmanlike conduct. Love the T-bag.
Did Infrit quitted playing after this match?
No, he quit after reading your comment.
why? may be i missed something. can u explain it to me?
I enjoyed listening to Yipes more than watching the match
Champ can be a nice guy, if he wants to. I think he's just trying to bring back the MVC2 vibe back to the scene.
While it was excessive, he actually did display that he is worlds above Infrit in this game. That is irrefutable. That, and he's the villain.
F.Chump I guess you were outclass at EVO will you played Cloud805
search for it on youtube?
What's FGC?
When people come to the defense of those who act with a blatant disregard for others it just baffles me. It's like the only line you can cross with assholes is telling other assholes to stop being assholes. Weird how that works out.
Lmao. I see Champ as a real life troll, but man this was just dominating.
I enjoyed the EVO commentaries so much more...
Bahahaa! Everything that comes out of Yipes mouth is golden.
I like Fchamp. Attitude and all. When you are at the top of anything sometimes its ok to talk smack. Its adds excitement to your matches but only when you back it up. And that dude, Champ, is the fuckin man when it comes to umvc3.

At first i like champ but when i heard what he said in the last part... damn
Damn Champ really? You got this match no doubt, but damn man that was cold as the deepest pits of hell.
Also gave me his autograph without any posturing. was infrit just having a bad day or something? last i checked he was a decent player. this set made him look like a scrub. i was expecting both of them to take at least 5 games
damn can someone tell me what beef champ has with infrit?
The way FC says "This is me!" just cracks me up.
I love FC. The disrespecting and bad sportsmanship is all just an act - he loves being the villain. Anyone know how old he is by the way?
Whenever Nova does the Rocket hyper, I always hear him say "We need tacos". XD
You are speaking the truth like none other.
I actually love Champ's play and personality. He takes the hate like a man. People are going to hate him either way, so why not ride it out?
He didn't "give out" autographs. I went up to him, asked if he'd mind giving me his autograph, he said sure, and signed his name over Dormammu's picture in my instruction manual
To argue that someone isn't humble because someone comes up and ASKS for his/her autograph is an oversimplification. If someone came up and asked for MY autograph I'd give it without hesitation. That doesn't mean I'm not humble; it means I'm giving someone something they asked for. To NOT give the autograph would be rude

Champ has been bodied. If you have the skill you deserve to talk, act or not. If you nice you won't hear his trash talk
You go ahead Champ, Karma will hit you very hard. Don't be surprised it happens at Evo 2014.
there are always faces and heels. it's entertaining. and it works because you are commenting about that right now
In all fairness, if someone beats you like that, you'd be devastated. But bashing him after he was a good sport about losing is low
What sportsmanship!!! This guy.
Honestly, I still enjoy watching Champ play. He's been taking the game too seriously lately, but there's no way to know the reasons behind it. Besides, all the time he spends in this game means that he can do some stuff that is pretty sick to watch.

Though Fanatiq has the best magneto.
What part of Filipino Champ makes you think he's Mexican? Are you on drugs?
lol that was Viscant!?
As much as we all hate FChamp, I gotta admit, that was pretty free.
Dude, that was awesome O_O Nice work Champ.
At least he told the truth at 0:24 That shit WAS FREE
FChamp For President!
Didn't know he was "famous" enough to give out autographs but I guess that's just him being humble...right??
I was rooting for FC, and he crushed Ifrit. I love that Mag play, FC got undeniable skill. Shame he get so much hate though.
damn that was free and it was a dark day in the FGC
Fight Starts "4:05"
where's chrisg when you need him?
I would love to see Filipino Champ say something like he did to Infrit to Drew Grimey just so Drew could beat the shit out of him
Alen well they are friends so you will never see that
...for the sake of doing it, it's with a smile on his face or some kind of gesture. (See EVO 2012) I still think it's uncalled for and really rude, especially considering Infrit almost beat him at EVO 2012, but frankly Infrit wasn't getting the job done like he should have.

Infrit needs to get his shit together that was dishonor on his whole family
I agree with ya on that one
Shots fired!
That is only partially true. I believe some of it is an act but some of it is also how he really is. Regardless, he is one of the top players in the mvc3 fgc.
it's much better he acts like a bad guy. its kinda adds like fun and anger to ppl wanting him to lose.
It's behavior like this that makes me NOT want to play competitively. Or at all, really. It completely sucks the fun out playing. He's a disservice to the community.
Neo with that Henchman Tier cackle.
that´s why i love to watch MarlinPie

Shoutout to uncle phil
The disrespect from 4:05 to 28:42 can not be measured by present day technology.
"I don't like the way you play Butagiri..."-Toguro
The end alone was hyper than all of Evo.
Well, all of Champ's talking did end up biting him in the ass, it just took a few months (Capcom Cup).
thank you someone who isn't completely brain dead!
You guys are all calling champ a douche, and I agree, but you have to see where he's coming from. that butter gun pop off scoooooooops fchamp.
Man Yipes is so hype
Un desastre infrit en éste FT, menos mal que se retiró después de esta paliza
sabes algo de el?

GREATEST POP OFF EVER
Best thing about this video, champ lost Evo 2013.
Champ is one day going to get the living shit beaten out of him.

Bumbleness Supreme Brady funny how times change, because the top gamers are getting rich now 😂😂
Isn’t that nuts though??
Not on your level? Ifirit was the guy who took 2nd place in Evo 2012. FChamp better check himself before he wrecks himself.
True but it's so entertaining!
