    The 'fresh wash' as you refer to it is EVERYTHING in watercolour; what you are teaching is invaluable if only students realise this. V/good.

    ❤ My favorite tutorialist. Why did it take me so long to understand the importance of practicing brush control?

  • @jeslenehan

    This tutorial is amazing!! I've been searching for this kind of information for weeks, as my visible brush strokes have been sucking my creativity away. But you've given me a lot of techniques to try, and along with the practice exercises from another of your videos, I am super excited to pull out the paints today. It's crazy to me that this information is so hard to find. Not only online, but within the dozen books I've collected over the years. Many Many Thanks!!

      Thank you so much for the kind words! 😊🙏🏼 The nuances of watercolor can get quite granular and specific haha. Happy I can help with some of these 😁

    This is a great video Liron, I haven't see other artists explaining this and it really makes a difference with watercolor. Great job my friend, I'm loving your groom you're looking great 👌🙏🙏🙏

    Liron, this type of short but to the point type of video is invaluable. I really needed this one. Perhaps by practising those brushstrokes I won't 'overwork' my paintings so much. Thanks ! Tzipora

    Using the shoulder to make long lines is far more reliable than trying to use our wrist. So a right handed person goes from left to right using their shoulder and holding the brush further back and a lefty would start from the right usually. Good review Lirón.

    Wow, this makes so much sense. I definitely dab carefully when I want to have fresh confident brushstrokes. I'd sacrifice accuracy even for more freshness so I should try to keep your lesson in mind. Thanks!

    This was really helpful. I watch a lot of painters on UA-cam. You are correct that people don’t describe the brush control so much. In fact a lot of people are the opposite and talk like you need to treat your brush like a rare antiquity. Sometimes when I watch your videos your strong pressure makes me nervous because I fear ruining my brushes which are expensive.
    I am going to go practice these now. Thank you.

    • @LironYan

    Do you always add new paint from the tube for your demos or did you just add water/prewet your paints before recording? I've noticed how easily you load your brush with the paints. Also did you rinse your brush between colors? All strokes look so colorful and clean.

    • @LironYan
      @LironYan  5 років тому +3

      I sometimes squeeze fresh paint out, but this time I didn’t. I’m using a lot of White Nights paints, and I find they rewet very easily. Also - I’m not afraid to really push the brush into the well (which I see many people are afraid of), which is how I get these strong vibrant and pure paints 🎨

    Liron some 1st washes outside the lines in certain areas can be a nice subtle technique, but nevertheless very good painting. You're great! Thanks

    • @LironYan

      I agree, that’s a great point and I almost always paint a bit outside the lines! 😁 When done out of desire of freedom as opposed to lack of skill - it’s wonderful! (:
