I'm all about the weird nostalgic fantasy movies, so my recommendations would probably be The Chronicles of Narnia, Labyrinth, Never Ending Story, Alice in Wonderland, Dark Crystal, The Wizard of Oz (and if you want some nightmare fuel, Return to Oz)
Great video! You reminded me I still haven't seen Fight Club and I need to see what got wildly misinterpreted while also being a good film I was also a tumblr kid but I think we were not on the same corners of the internet because I hadn't heard of The Virgin Suicides before I'm not much of a film person, I can only think of Everything Everywhere All At Once. My fiancée and I did recently watch The Dark Crystal and we liked it! It felt like a whole other world
@EclecticPupil oh I loved Everything Everywhere All At Once, Sarah at Tangy Tarot did some brilliant tarot spreads based on it! Haha yeh the corner of tumblr I was on was not the healthiest in hindsight, I’m glad you maybe avoided those bits.
Comedy: What We Do in the Shadows, Only Lovers Left Alive Drama: the Impossible, Elizabeth Documentary: Frida Animated: Coraline, Spirited Away Western: Cowboys and Aliens, The Magnificent Seven (original is better, but the new one is good) Black and White: Young Frankenstein (also comedy) West Side Story (also a musical) ENJOY!!
Movies to watch: Scifi: 5th Element, BladeRunner Romance: Legends of the Fall Mystery: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,The Gift Action: Hanna, the Professional Fantasy: Lady in the Water, Pan's Labarynth (I'm doing this in 2 comments because I got to the end and lost it. 😅)

@@SaplingTarot Honestly it was pretty awful too 😭 Just a different flavor or name attached to it. Glad to see we survived it though

@tamipie Oh my gosh thank you for all these amazing recommendations!!
Yeah I love the book Lolita, but anyone who thinks it’s a love story is a walking red flag!
And you’ve got better film knowledge and remembrance than me! Lovely video.
Thank you so much for watching! There are so many pieces of media that get massively misunderstood, it’s wild out there!
