Two points of interest: 1) Cory Wong & Dirty Loops have never met. 2) This was recorded with Cory Wong & the horns in or around New York City, USA; Dirty Loops in or around Stockholm, Sweden; and the engineer/producer in or around Seoul, South Korea. TRUTH... The wonder of modern technology!
Interesting how JB (?) wasn't as moved as "expected", but honesty is always the best. Am not moved by a few DL tracks but do absolutely love this and Follow the Light.
First time viewer. Nice honest reaction and good discussion at the end. I personally loved the "The Way You Make Me Feel" 12/8 groove, but what really blew my mind was the symphonic bridge, complete with double bell euphonium, flute, and clarinet, then into a quick bond theme before modulating back into the now-familiar funky Thriller vibe. In my book, super-talented musicians taking some words out of that common vocabulary and writing a few new sentences with them. Pretty cool. Lots more Dirty Loops for you to check out! Subscribed.
Interesting dialogue between you two! Thank you! The Dirty Loops with Cory-songs are special - pretty much their own style...whilst Dirty Loops on their own, have another. Do check out more of all of their stuff - soo much fantastic stuff here! Here´s young Loops, one of their first songs released: ua-cam.com/video/utn6TnORINM/v-deo.html Cheers guys!
Well, "Hit Me" is also their own song, not a cover, even if many thought it was because it was their first own composition after all of those covers of popular hits they became known for.
@@gudagaava you are correct, mixed it up with "Baby baby". Sorry about that. And I use to work with Aron fore a couple of years. I can honestly say he is the best drömmer I ever played with...no competition!
Thanks for that, so interesting to hear your comments and conversation. For more of that DL and Cory Wong collaboration, go to their track ‘Follow the Light’ (m.ua-cam.com/video/-UBcxKiS550/v-deo.html), or ‘Turbo’ -it’s on fire! ‘Work Shit Out’, a piece by and with only Dirty Loops, is a very different, but great one-. Enjoy 😊
Nice cover, I especially dug the horn feature section. Given JB is more in a "rock/prog/metal" space I'd recommend you check out the band TesseracT (given the comic book reference I can't believe I haven't suggested this before). They're a progressive metal band out of England that have a very "djent" sound and really like to take you on journey in their songs. They've had a few different members/vocalists since their first full album in 2011, and a lot of their songs are split up into multiple movements, but I love every album of theirs. I'd recommend checking out their newest live album "PORTALS", with "Of Matter" being a good place to start.
Enjoyed your reaction mates. Follow The Light & World On Fire have fire bass solos. For the greatest Symphonic Metal band: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score Live at Wacken 2013. New sub, cheers!
It’s impossible to listen to their music without a stank face for 90 percent of the time. Just groovy as fuck. Like if young James brown could hear it he would be like “my GOD. That is fucking groovy”
Man... I felt just like you until I got a feel of the groove. lol, I listened a few times and I am hooked. Let me tell you about me. I am from GARY, INDIANA, and Mike and I went to the same grad school. I used to look in their window when their dad had them practicing. He ran off my miniature butt and I didn't do that again. I went on and did 29 years in the Army and became an SGM. I still have contact with the brothers and we listened to this via Skype, and we became emotional. I got to myself and my eyes began to sweat because Mike touched this band to re-create this. They let M.J. know they LOVE him and produced their VERSION of "THRILLER" and its pure creativity. LOVE YOU M.J. old friend. (sniff)
Whether Charles is real or not, I think it's cool to have someone to bounce off in these videos. The next place for you to go might be Black Sabbath - War Pigs if you haven't heard that one already or Pallbearer - Worlds Apart for something a bit different.
Fake Charles has the right idea here. JB - I’m curious, when you listen to music can you sit back and enjoy or hate a song completely on the surface level anymore? Or because you’re a musician do you automatically start breaking the song down into the nuts and bolts of what’s happening musically and critiquing that part of it?
@@marylandstationmusic9422 fair enough. I figured that was probably the case, i was just curious if it’s possible to shut off that side of the brain or not.
