Nice shots of Big Sur there. My favorite place to drive.
I grew up in the birthplace of aviation; Dayton, OH. I was flying airplanes out of a little country airport (Dahio) before I was driving cars. I moved to SoCal in 2002 and had my first fight from Carlsbad Airport and saw the Pacific for the first time from a C172 on my departure leg. Tears welled up in my eyes. So glad you shared this. Thanks.
You have a lot more patience than i do. I would of scrapped the IFR departure and departed VFR then picked up the IFR once airborne. I like how many GoPros you have... I need to pick up a few more. :)
Keep up the good work, love watching your video !!! Best regards
YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION!
Awesome Man!! Thanks for posting.
Hey that plane doing touch and goes in the pattern was me in the 172 N968RC. I follow you on UA-cam and I was watching this and then heard my voice calling windcheck and realized I was out that morning. Crazy that you showed up on the end of the runway here in Salinas. It was a busy morning with all those ifr departures. Anyway, keep up the good videos.
Great video's keep up the good work and safe flying !!
I love your videos . They make me feel like I am there in the Skyhawk with you . I am a disabled Veteran so I can't get my Pilot's License right now . Hopefully one day .
Some nice views. Looking forward to the new slr shots.
I loved this series josh. Such beautiful flying!
This is my favorite Channel I'm not a pilot but I enjoy the series of videos of your travels I'm Not Afraid at all of flying so this summer my first time ever at skydiving with an instructor LOL
This is so cool Josh! I'm so damn jealous of you!
I used to love the Cessna but piper Cherokee 140 is just so perfect. You should take a flight in one you will in joy it
Awesome series and I can't wait for the SLR footage!
I love you too! Awesome videos brother. It's ironic I enjoy watching your videos, given I have never been in an airplane in my life.
Another great video. every time I watch a video of your I get more excited for my next flying lesson. I can't wait to get my license
Love you channel. Im glaad i found it
love the matching shirts :-)
My home turf. Nice to see other enjoying the area
lol, that awkward silence!
I think the longest I've waited for an IFR release was about 6-8 minutes. It felt like an eternity.
Josh, I just wanted to say thanks for sharing these videos. I've had many extended delays in my PPL training, all of which were out of my control, being either weather-related or mechanical issues/upgrades on the plane. It's been very discouraging at times, and I know I'm fortunate to still have the opportunity even if it's taking longer than I expected. I've gleaned a lot from your channel, but it's videos like this that give me more and more reason to be patient and just keep pushing forward. Hope to see you at an AOPA fly-in one of these days. Thanks, & fly safely.
Excellent video. Thanks
Very awesome I'm a fan of ur videos I'm a student pilot in training and ur videos help me alot in my training
If you think 5 minutes is an obnoxiously long time to wait for a release, come to the northeast on an IFR day. :) Bring some reading material.
Josh Langweil If you did a little math, you'd see he's been waiting for minimum of 10mins... :) Although that is still not that long! :D
+Josh Langweil 9 months after. Yeah I live in Boston and I have waited for like a maximum of 20-25min in my cessna because jets are landing left and right and they have no time for a small cessna lol
Kind of cool seeing your videos around here
Thanks for sharing this great video. Didn't think flying commercial was cheaper.
Oh my, that was a long hold for release. I saw that you had the most important piece of equipment for an IFR flight (well at least in CA), your sunglasses.
Another excellent video.
Wow! It's such a joy watching your videos!! It makes me wanna jump into the cockpit right now :D
I'm from Germany and got my license in 2013 in Florida. Next year I'm going to buy a plane and continue with the IFR and commercial. During that I want to make a tour through out the US. I need to meet up with you :)
Hey man! I've watched your videos for a while now, they are great. I'm working on my instrument rating now in Phoenix! Love flying!
Thank you
I love your videos man
I love your Videos!
Another great video! I was wondering: have you ever flown a glider or do you have any interests in gliding? :)
I wish it was only 5 minutes here in New York airspace. It takes on average 15 minutes for a release. It took 20 minutes for JFK to give me a clearance last month. And then another 15 holding short. That's the trouble when you have 3 international airports in your area plus other regional and private airports.
Also just wondering what the max altitude you would want to bring the 172 up too? I know its not pressurized but at the end of the video it looked like you guys were very high up there. Thanks !
I wish you'd do an about me! Like when you first flew, age, ya know. I binge watched your videos last night. :)
Josh, do you plan on someday going up to bigger planes/jets? If so will you still fil it.
"sur" is south in Spanish. Coasta is coast. :)
Enjoyed the trip Thanks.
***** Costa* = Coast
true.. Typing is not one of my strengths :)
***** Hehe Spanish is my first laguange :b
Please tell me there is a Van Nyes video coming ;)
Great video, what did you get for your new DSLR? Quality looked amazing! :D
You ever considered flying commercially? And what licenses do you hold a CPL license on top of the other two?
Nice video. Just a quick question, why is airspeed a concern as you enter the clouds?
Clouds especially cumulus can be somewhat turbulent. I imagine if your speed is too low a sudden change in wind velocity or direction could induce a stall, too fast (above maneuvering speed) could cause structural damage if the turbulence is great enough (though this is probably unlikely in a non-towering cumulus).
Awesome vid as always! Looks like a great trip. I was just wondering when it is all said and done what was the TT for the trip? And the distance?
How many hours are you up to, Josh?
How long did it take for you to get an Instrument rating?
When are you getting your repaint?!?
"It would have been much cheaper flying commercial than GA....but daddy pays for all my fuel and expenses so I don't really worry about any kind of real responsibility." Is that what I heard?
how did you get your sponsors?
Did you plan the matching shirts or was that just a coincidence?
UXUBaron Pure coincidence... I promise!
holding 5 minutes for an IFR release is nothing =) Try flying out of Palo Alto (KPAO) when it's socked in. I've waited 10-15 minutes on occasion. Expensive!
I wonder how much he spent on fuel.
I wanted to see my house:(
He probly forgot
