Finally Making Money With the EDGE 2 Printer

- Getting the bugs worked out and figuring out the work flow for the Gerber EDGE2 printer. This was a small print and cut job that was perfect for these printers. After a few trial runs I'm starting to get the hang of it, thanks again Clyne!! I'm printing on Oracal 6510 Fluorescent Yellow with Black and Brite Orange foil from ZERONINE. The contour cutting was off of the Q54 (AKA Graphtec 8600) and everything worked how it should.

Great job! When you go to uncheck the coyly colors at the bottom of the page you’ll see print spot colors only and you can check that box…save a little time 🙂

I have an Edge2 running Omega 6.5 and a GSx 15 plus plotter... I also have a Graphtec CE5000 60 plotter, how can I use the Graphtec with Omega? I tried installing it via GSP tray but I get no communication.. thanks in advance
To the best of my knowledge Omega will only control gerber products. It's something in the code or communication as I haven't Omega be able to control any other piece of equipment. You might want to try and older serial cutter using a usb/serial cable and try it that way?
I apologize if I missed it but where did the 2nd color from? I saw the orange printed onto the vinyl but is that black outlined around the orange text?
Can you run the same job through again to add other elements ie if you wanted chrome and white with the orange?
@ 2:30 the Black printed first and it was still in the printer so you did not see the caddy exchanged. The Orange you saw the caddy exchange, sorry for the confusion.

What Flexi software you using to print with the Edge2?
Flexi 12 but pretty sure I could go back to version 10.5 as well.
Hey Buddy! Why get a Gerber when you have a Mutoh? What does the gerber add to mix?
The Gerber will print White, chromes and florescent colors, the Mutoh is basic 4 color process. Each has their place and it's way less expensive to print with the Mutoh but I know I can make $$$ with this little printer.

@@coachdonhighdfw The printer price is not bad for short runs, it will make a great ROI's.
Lots still sell the foils, grimco, GMS, Hyatts to name a few. I keep my eye on FB marketplace and ebay for good deals. I bought about 35-40 foils (new and used) off of FB marketplace for $275 delivered.
@@TheSignGuy wow that’s a steal, does the foils last long? I really have to get one one soon! I need you do a full video start to finish like you done for the stickers! 2 color print and switching the colors, I missing a step it seams. Are you choking or trapping the ink?
