I throw both a Fission (stable) and Proton (understable) Crave at 164g. They actually fly too far and straight (turn and fade varies some, but I can throw them to the same spot) so I got a 160g Fission Volt to go SHORTER and be way beefier. If my Saints get too beaten up, I could see going Rhythm instead of Insanity in the straightish 9 speed slot.
I bag four craves in different weights and plastics. 2 glow eclipse craves (165 & 173) and 2 neutron in the same weights. The light ones are flippier brand new. I split grip and hyzer flip regularly. The heavy ones take longer to beat in but will take more forehand torque than the light ones no matter how beat in they are.
Been loving the Crave since I got one last year for the 1st time. I bag that exact combo of plastics in Craves right now, both 157. Haven't tried the rhythm yet but it does seem very appealing. Great content as always, thank you!
I actively searxch lightweight. Being 58yr old female they suit me and make up most of my bag. I just am grateful for trilogy and MVP/Axiom for doing a good range of lightweights. If you get the chance to throw a 161g (ish) Insanity give it a try. I have it in plasma and it outdoes my air Jade easily. And even though a speed 9 the rim does not feel overly deep or wide
You should compare a Fission Crave to a Fission Rhythm. On most of my Fission discs the lighter the weight, the more stable they are. Heavier weights tend to fly less stable especially when beat in.
Hold on a minite, i thought the lighter the fission plastic is the more flippier. And the heavier fissions are less flippy? I have a 150g fission insanity and it's the most flippiest fairway in my bag. Maybe they flip way more when beat in?
Thanks for the review.. Flies like my Fission Volt with just a tab more flip. Think I will check out the Fission Fireball then as there is some overlap with the Volt.
I wonder how they compare with the trance Also the newer runs of proton craves have a little more dome and stability compared to roughly a year ago, especially the swirly rims with the weight embossed on the back
In my experience, MVP discs tend to be a bit more overstable than their ratings imply, which is another reason to go a little lighter on weight. I'm throwing a lot of MVP/Axiom discs that are in the mid-160s now, and really liking how they fly. The Rhythm is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
You really need to throw the Centurion by Infinite Discs into the mix. A super straight flying 7 speed. I can get 320 out of it, with very little fade at the end.
My fission Crave and fission Insanity have more dome than the other plastics in the same molds. And he was showing his fission Rhythm. Is yours a fission?
@@IceBergTV my Rhythm is in neutron and it's got the same amount of dome as my fission Crave. The fission plastic must spring up a bit more than the others.
@@IceBergTV This has been my experience, especially in the fairways/drivers. It does also beat in a little more quickly than other their other premium plastics.
excellent reviews, however, you having a big arm, should also slow it down a little for us mere mortals... this way we, have a better idea of what the discs can do with slower arms... that would be greatly appreciated..
Remember that mvp discs use same faceplates for all of their discs and then the weight is added to the over mold. So with fission disc you’re going to have extremely light weight face plate and then very weighty over mold which inherently makes a disc more stable
There are exceptions to the rule, but most of the time you’re right! I once had a super flat hades that was unbelievably beefy. Your average semi-domey hades is quite flippy, but when you get to pop top hades they’re quite beefy once again. But not as beefy as the flat ones.
what weight is that rythm? i got a 174 fission when i lost my neutron rythm, i hadnt thrown it that much and it was quite flippy so i was hoping the max weight fission would be a little more stable, but it seems like theyre a lot more stable?
@@chuckwalla123flight plate is identical regardless of weight on fission. All the weight variance is in the overmold. I’m assuming that’s why fission is such a funny plastic to try and find the right weight for.
Crave is a great controlable disc, I can throw 350 consistently and it fits my arm speed well
Crave is hands down my favorite disc ever. I have a 149g fission plastic crave.
Love the full weight rhythm. Quickly became my favorite disc in the bag a couple of months ago. Highly recommend
I also love the fission plastic!

Rythym has always flown far

Got both of them! I'm just getting back into disc golf after a LONG time away and the Axiom discs are working very well for me.

Even though I'm a guy, my arm speed isn't as fast as most.. so, I agree 100% love the lighter weight discs ;)

I agree I can't throw heavy discs...average arm here
yes please with a slower throw..

When we'll we become the "Cool Crew"? Every time I start one of your vids I think it's coming 😂😂😂
The old proton craves had a little dome. Mine had sparkles in the flight plate.

I have both. Trance is definitely beefier
Heard trance is beefy by multiple reviews. I'll stick with my Ricky tb3. It's finally Flynn straight after 3 years
I love the Crave.
I just got a neutron rhythm Saturday. It flies straight and fades in the last third. I should have waited and gotten a fission.

similar experience here.
169 goat weight
4:22 "with a little bit more dome so it's more stable"... I'm thinking it would have more glide and be a bit _less_ stable
I love the crave I bsg 4! in total I have 7 I even putt with one
We could all use a little more dome man.
The difference is in the forehand 🤷♂️
I finally tried a wraith because of you and it’s absolute money

Looks like you threw the Rythym on a little anhyzer.
Nose-down
Woah. My rhythm has no dome. It's the same as my crave.
My fission Crave and fission Insanity have more dome than the other plastics in the same molds. And he was showing his fission Rhythm.
Is yours a fission?
Fission must have more dome on most molds
Strange!!

The rythm is waay more understable in my experience, granted I have yet to try my max weight fission. They both feel very similar, that is for sure!
Consensus says that heavier fission discs tend to fly more understable compared to lighter fission.
When does the servo come into play? I LOVE the crave never thrown a rhythm
I have a 169 fission crave that started out flat and has beat in to be domey. I wonder if the fission rhythm will beat in to be more domey than new?
If you are comparing discs and plastics you should have them in the same weight...otherwise the weight might be the difference in flight and distance.

So i feel stupid. I thought more dome translated to less stability and flat tops lead to more stability. Can anyone explain?
Tends to be true

Fission is weird - only plastic where the lightweight ones are sometimes more stable actually. No idea why.
