  • We have a biblical mandate to call out false teachers. But, we have to be so careful when we do this. A false teacher is not simply someone who holds to a different idea than yours.

I am VERY grateful GOD never called me to any ministry, what people need to understand, is that ANYONE who takes up the mantle of being a teacher of the word will be held to a MUCH higher standard when we all face THE LORD at his judgement. But I do my best to let those around me know of the gospel, which has been commanded of all of us.

If you’re telling strangers about the gospel, you’re doing what 98% of Christians are not doing; you’re doing the great commission and not the great omission, you are doing exactly what Jesus commanded to do!
Keep up the great work brother in storing up treasures in heaven for yourself and winning souls; even if they don’t come to Christ in these horrible last days, they do not fall on deaf ears, they can’t unhear the gospel when you say it, Gods word does not return void!
Daniel 12: 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Christianity began as sun worship, the stories about Jesus are symbolic.
He is just a personification of the sun, made into a god figure later on.
The sun "dies" for 3 days on December 22nd, the winter solstice, when it stops its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25th, when it resumes its movement north.
In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be "born of a Virgin"
The sun rising in the morning is "the saviour of mankind"
The sun is "The light of the World"
The sun "walks on water" is just the reflection of the sun on water/the sea.
"He cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him", is just sun rays.
Jesus' "crown of thorns" is just the sun's glare, also know as a halo.
The sun's "followers", "helpers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.
The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High": thus.."he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12.
The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30 degrees, hense, the "Sun of God" begins his ministry at "age" 30.
The sun is hung on a cross or "crucified", which represents its passing through the equinoxes.
The vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected.
The reason why saviour myths are so similar with a godman who is crucified and resurrected, who does miracles and has 12 disciples, is that these stories were based on the movements of the sun through the heavens, an astrotheological development that can be found throughout the planet, because the sun and the 12 zodiac signs can be observed around the globe.
In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun throug the heavens. ..

Alisa, I loved this answer to my question and appreciate the heart of being very careful. This topic was such a burn in my heart that I ended up doing a few 3-5 min videos on the subject - the two specifically were "Calling our False Teachers" which I make similar points and the other was "What are we pouring into our souls" as I was so convicted in listening and not just "turning them off!" I wanted to share my vulnerability in this area. One of the things I respect and admire most about your content and your character is your firm but grace centered ability to share truth. Blessings and again thank you. GmaJo Keeping it Real (in Faith and Truth).

I mean no animosity, and I agree that we must call out false teaching, but it's very evident in Scripture that the apostles Paul and John both called out false teachers by name. I know that they were apostles with apostolic authority, but there's no denying that there are many false teachers today who should be exposed.

There is a growing trend of believers focusing their lives and careers on pursuing "false teachers" and presenting their own thoughts based on bias, naivety and often ignorance to what is being said. God will judge all, how much more will our judgement be when we profess and protect our faith incorrectly.

My best friend of many years started going on a weird path during the course of our friendship. At one point in our relationship, she offered to pay back a debt I had to my parents because I was really struggling and she was *reeeally* wealthy. Sounds nice, right? There was a twist, though. She and her husband would pay the debt to my parents BUT ONLY if they were allowed to include a letter to them telling them what awful parents they were and everything that was wrong with their parenting. (I had a difficult relationship with them both at that time, especially my mom, who had undiagnosed mental health issues.) As much as I needed the money, as tempting as having that debt cleared may have been, I said no, telling her it would violate the 5th commandment and would totally kill my relationship with them, however strained it was at the time. And .... she GOT MAD at me. On the other end of the phone, she just kept saying, "I am SO ANGRY right now! God said this is how it was supposed to be! This is what he told us! I am SO ANGRY!" I told her I was sorry she was angry but my answer was still no. (I know that God did not tell her to tell me to go against his Word.)
I mention this only to say that she's now a "modern day prophet" working with the likes of Shawn Bolz and Kris Valloton. They're all quite good friends and she's a real up and comer in that NAR/Bethel/Jesus Culture world. (We no longer are because of her stubborn foray into New Age Christianity. When I tried to talk to her about it, she rejected hearing Scripture in context.) Her latest thing is a seminar next month on how to hear God including "Spirit Mapping" -- which I've never heard of but sounds very dicey. I pray for her because I do believe she's teaching false things to more and more people as her influence increases. Sighh.

I like what you said about giving a long rope and fruit. For those of us, who've either attended for some time or grown up in the mainline denominations, this is so true. I have gradually moved towards focusing on the fruit of what much of the leadership in saying as to whether or not they are false teachers and preachers or not. It's one thing to say we must exercise care and compassion for those who face(d) the decision to abort a child, deal with same sex attraction, struggle with gender dysphoria, have had surgical reconstruction to alter their appearance to conform to the opposite sex, etc., to invoke the hot social issues of the day, since a lot of what you referenced on social media revolves around these matters. And it's one thing to struggle alongside otherwise orthodox believing Christians on the weighty doctrines from the nature and deity of Christ, the atonement, to the Trinity and such. Those who vigorously advocate this latter set and struggle with historic church positions or even have acquiesced to the world with reservations on the former, I am willing to give leeway, even if I disagree and will flatout say they are wrong, as long as they continue to humbly admit that there are theological concerns related to societal matters that cannot be easily set aside and must balanced in the church's practice on such matters. However, when as some mainline leadership, as those of at least three of the most prominent of the mainline have done, refuse to acknowledge genuine concerns in light of historic orthodoxy, deny contradicting facts outside of Scripture that favor historic orthodoxy over an American leftist narrative, or in some cases just flatout lie about the facts surrounding any matter - whether it has direct bearing on either core or secondary matters even after the problem has been brought to their attention - and cast aspersions towards people's motivations without support, then it is time to start calling these people out for who they are, which are false prophets, preachers, and teachers; hirelings masquerading as shepherds; wolves masquerading as sheep; or servants of the enemy masquerading as angels of light. And I honestly think the terminology used should depend upon the degree of duplicity and bad doctrine espoused, combined with the delivery. A person at the highest level with a pleasant soft spoken demeanor with the authority to officially speak on behalf of a church or denomination, but who regularly lies, misrepresents, cast aspersions towards, and either teaches false doctrine, or dismisses obvious false teaching by underlings as a trivial disagreement on very core doctrines by should be considered as masquerading as an angel of light. (And yes, I have a certain high-ranking mainline leader in mind.) Whereas an underling might be considered a false teacher, hireling, or wolf, depending upon the appropriateness of the situation.

In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun throug the heavens. ..

Well said! I suppose my main question at this point is how do we properly discern between primary and secondary issues. A common argument I’ve heard among those who divide from others over so many things and/or are quick to label others false teachers is something along the lines of “all truth is God’s truth.” I hope that makes sense.
But those who divide and bicker over too many things remind me of the old Emo Philips joke:
"Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"
He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What franchise?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"
He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region." I said, "Me, too!"
Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over."

Can you pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. To teach what is known as 'limited atonement' is error; it is not scriptural. Believers are to preach the gospel to every creature according to Mark 16:15. Paul articulates the gospel as follows: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
Many verses affirm that Jesus died for the sins of the world. Hebrews 2:9b speaks of Christ, ...that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Isaiah 53:5 reads, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. That Christ is the savior of the world is stated repeatedly: And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world (1 John 4:14); For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe (1 Timothy 4:10). Believers can preach the gospel to all, knowing that Jesus atoned for their sins and knowing that it is not God's desire that any man perish (1 John 2:2, 2 Peter 3:9).
Tenets of Calvinism are contrary to the heart of the gospel and the heart of the atonement; the teaching of such should be called false. Believers that have been deceived into teaching Calvinistic 'doctrine' that is not scriptural should repent of their error.

On Aug. 25, 2016, in a conversation with Russell Moore at the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission conference held in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention annual conference, Stanley said, “I would ask preachers and pastors and student pastors in their communications to get the spotlight off the Bible and back on the resurrection.” This is nutty, of course, because it is impossible to understand Christ’s resurrection apart from the Bible.

Stanley minimizes the importance of the virgin birth. “Stanley’s December 3, 2016, sermon may be the most controversial yet. In his sermon, Stanley minimized the importance-if not the reality-of the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. ‘A lot of people don’t believe it, and I understand that,’ Stanley said. He added, ‘Maybe the thought is they had to come up with some kind of myth about the birth of Jesus to give him street cred later on. Maybe that’s where that came from’ (Baptist News Global, ‘Virgin Birth Debate Interrupts Regular ‘War on Christmas’ Program,’ 12-21-16). Stanley then noted that it is interesting that only two of the four gospels mention the virgin birth, and said ‘Christianity doesn’t hinge on the truth or even the stories around the birth of Jesus … It really hinges on the resurrection of Jesus.’ Earlier this year, Stanley minimized the importance of the role Scripture plays in the life of the believer, and minimizing the importance of the virgin birth of Christ is simply the next step in this downward trajectory. The virgin birth of Christ is vitally important, for without the virgin birth, mankind would not have a Savior (the God-man) and no resurrection could have occurred! Despite what Stanley says, Christianity does hinge on the truth surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. Stanley’s statements are dangerous and his conclusions are completely unbiblical. Discerning believers must beware of those who minimize vital doctrinal truths in an attempt to relate to those who reject such truths in the first place” (Matt Costella, Fundamental Evangelical Association, Dec. 23, 2016).
