- Darlene is delighted that her & Elliot have "Robin Hooded" the Deus elites as she watches a crowd of civilians discover lump sums of money appear in their bank accounts.
From Season 4 Episode 10 "410 Gone" Following the Deus Group hack, Zhang's identity as Whiterose has become public. Dominique has mostly recovered and leaves the hospital. Under FBI investigation for her actions as a Dark Army agent, she's not allowed to see her family. Darlene convinces her to run away with her and Elliot, to hide from the Dark Army. Instead, Elliot departs alone for the Washington Township plant. Leon transports Darlene and Dominique to the airport, giving Dominique advice about living with a new identity. Darlene transfers a substantial portion of the Deus Group's money to everyone with Ecoin accounts, seeing it as justice. Dominique is frightened upon seeing Irving at the airport bookstore, promoting his new novel. He informs her the Dark Army don't care about her or Darlene anymore. Without that threat, Dominique chooses not to fly to Budapest with Darlene, having a job and family to look after. At the gate, Darlene has a panic attack about being alone and flees to a bathroom, missing Dominique, who turned back to get on the plane. Darlene steadies herself and becomes okay on her own, missing the flight. Dominique finally gets some sleep as the plane takes off for her fresh start.

“The single greatest redistribution of wealth in the history of the world”
Just as Mr. Robot always promised
way back on that ferris wheel
You don’t take down a conglomerate by shooting them in the hearts, because that is the thing with conglomerate they don’t have hearts.
You take them down limb by limb.
As their control unravel their illusions of power unravel.
For me this is the most wholesome moment in the whole series
Tyrell strangling his competitor's wife >>>
100%
@@heisenburger991So wholesome, that moment 🥰
when chaotic good character sits on a bench with lawful good character
"...if you ask me... this is EXACTLY WHAT JUSTICE LOOKS LIKE."
One of the greatest lines ever spoken in movie/television history. 😁
That's the thing about justice, you can often see when you don't have justice, because you'll see the outcome helps JUST US. If it helps just us, it's probably not justice.
@@RobertMorgan Dude, WTF does all that blather mean? What is your point?
None of what you just said makes ANY SENSE whatsoever.
The 'outcome' doesn't help 'just us', it helps everyone but the top 1% of the 1% according to the show.
That's as per 2019 (season 4, dec 2019) tax return status approximately 250 million tax payers, who got roughly 50 trillion of accumulated wealth.
That translates to approximately $200,000 per taxpayer (e-coin holder) in this show.
How is that not justice for all the ripping off the Deus Group has been doing since the 1980s? 😆😁😄😃
To see all of the work fsociety put in over the years finally pay off, and having the people benefit from it, was awesome to see
Goated profile pic, you seem to have a great taste in music & TV
What if I told you this all took place in under a year?
People will benefit by having inflation
@@oldmanold7863 It wouldn't cause longterm inflation. That's an old capitalist trope that only works on uneducated Americans who, upon hearing, the word inflation think that you've eluded to something even remotely intelligent.
Aside from showing how Elliot and Darlene successfully redistributed wealth to the people, this scene also shows why Darlene and Dom could never be a couple, IMO. Darlene is free spirited, and Dom is way too rigid. I can't believe she even thought for a second that taking the Dark Army's money wasn't justice, especially given what they did to her and her family.
Agree
Dom had convictions, she was a True Believer. It would be hard not to be going through law school and joining the FBI, believing in the law and that the law is right and just was her profession.
Disagree. Remember the Dom that meet Darlene and tried to connect with them because believed in her. It just that Dom is too exhausted in this scene.
this is disproven in the same episode - dom gets on the flight, and relaxes.
I love how they never mention how much was deposited into each account. Let's you use your imagination
well i mean lets imagine the deus group has around 200 members, all of them being the richest people on the globe. that's like 2 trillion dollars. spread across every single american's account would be about 6k a person.
If you do the math its probably around 300 bucks
“This much?” I’m hoping it’s like 10k each ;)
Naw if you divided up Elon Musk’s $219bn net worth among all 330 million Americans that would already be $663 each person. Math isn’t clean because people hold wealth in assets not currencies, and idk how many people theoretically had e-coin wallets but best estimate is like $20-30k which is something like 8x the median US household total savings.
@Roman Schuster yeah ok they divided on the entire population of the world not the us
Dude...
I cried when the people started to looking at the camera (us) as if we were Darlene...
Such a wholesome scene...
When what looked like a single struggling mother getting her worth....that kinda got me too
It’s so nice to see Darlene finally have a moment to celebrate the end and victory of such a long journey
Darlene in this show is a little like Jessie in breaking bad. She’s actually a fairly innocent, good person who’s been shoved into bad situations and changed by them. It’s cathartic to see her inner optimist finally get a win
Sorry but no lol. Darlene always had a goal and kept fighting to see it through. Jessie not so much. He was put on a path by many other people.
that couple deserved so much more at the ending
The inflation following this will be insane though...
Here's your coffee, that'll be 850 ecoin, please.
But, it was 1.25 ecoin yesterday....
Yeah, that was before every human on earth with a phone got a billion ecoin yesterday...
I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THAT BRO ! I mean it would be an economic nightmare ! I think the best way to deal with this kind of situation is to reduce the tax to near zero or zero and then let the government spending be satisfied by it. I think its the best way to slowly introduce the money back to the people without inflation.
I've only watched a couple of these bits if the show and now I need to watch it from the beginning, seems like a bad ass show
Literally my favourite scene, oh wait i have multiple favourite scenes
Don't mind me, just crying a bit.
Fr, idk why but this scene always gets me a little emotional
Cried my eyes out… love this scene so much😪😭
I need this rendition of Wo Ai Ni
Same.
AND MAC RELEASED IT!
Technically this show happens before the events of Leave The World Behind as they take place in the same universe. Which means it’s kinda sad that Elliot and Darlene’s efforts simply leads to whatever factions remain in the void of Deus Group fighting each other leading to what looks like by the end of Leave The World Behind an American Civil War.
Beautiful.
Love you bro
A MASTERPIECE!!!! the background music ❤️❤️❤️
but, if this happened, would be disastrous.
Fr, people get a stimulus check and forget how to act.
Debt was even worse before.
In our current world, yeah. But not after the chain of events in the whole series leading up to this. A world economic collapse forcing everyone into crypto.
@@kdpowers agree about crypto, and i guess that this is a right way for everyone now, and in a short future.
@@kdpowers Crypto is not safe from inflation. When suddenly all have a lot of that crypto its value goes down a lot, because all became rich in currency, but in the end the goods count, not the currency, and goods were not multiplied. If anyone can afford house for 1mln it will no longer cost 1mln but 5 or 10 or 20.
This will be MOASS
Le inflation: STONKS!!!
The greatest redistribution of history is coming... Sam Esmail knows...
Then a box of milk is 2K the next day.

correct me if i'm wrong, but if the transations happen all at the same time and contain the same amount, wouldn e-corp (or whats left of it) just syphon the accounts of everyone claiming its stolen money and that money would go back to dark army? Whats stopping them from doing that exactly?
And even if they dont, they basically just put what is likely trillions back into liquidity, basically printing money, wouldnt that make the coin worthless?
E CORP insisted on the fact that the e coin remained independent of the US DOLLAR, probably why they can't just reverse those transactions.
S5
Haven't watched it, but it wouldn't make the money worthless. From what I understand, what is redistributed, is the money that E-Corp used to have. Money is probably economicaly speaking more worth in the hands of many people, altho you can make good argumentations for it being equally good in few holders hands. The money is exactly what would've been stolen.
I do wonder what would happen next, would it kick off hyper inflation and cause the dollar to collapse. Would the coins be worthless, was it just for the people in the US, did the poorest people miss out because they didn’t have E coin wallets.
Think it’s best to take it at face value, everyone got freed from debt, everyone became equal and lived happily ever after.
Since we're on it, the numbers wouldn't ever, ever match up. No one has anywhere close to enough money to give a significant amount of it to everyone on the planet.
Aka, how to crash the value of that coin.
Yes and no. Ecorp in the show's universe also owns a majority of everyone's debt. They are the bank, the coin minter, and basically own the government.
If you crash the value of the coin, you're also crashing the value of the debt that everyone owns. That's as good as real money.
Kensico Plaza used to be a lot of fun, before 9/11.
And everyone carefully invested the money in ways that did not increase volatility in the markets, pid down debt raising billions of people from poverty, and only slightly increased net spending on consumer goods in services preventing massive disruptive shifts in the labor market or the worst - inflation. Corporate leaders, stock traders, and financial managers in no way leveraged their power to change laws, launch marketing campaigns, or otherwise tip the scales to ensure the vast majority of that wealth distribution return directly to the top 1% within a matter of years, and everyone lived happily ever after in the fight-club-ripoff-meets-girl-with-the-dragon-tattoo universe.
Because macroeconomics doesn’t exist.
Huge fan of the series here, btw, just a mild critic of human nature.
I wanna say everyone got at least over 500k$ or more she said "everyone got this much" and Darlene said before, "all of the money whiterose has been stealing for decades"
It's quite possible but I think ppl would've been going ballistic. I think probably 50k
@@kdpowers I have calculated, 1500 dollars. Not so much
Do we know how much money the Deus group had in the first place?
@@valentonorma5428 naah, wrong calculation

Inflation rubbing its hands D:
We wanna the série 5 mr robot it's best série fsuciety ❤
I want to believe it's 5.9k for each person :)
YEE-HAW!!! …so… do y’all think people would keep on working after receiving “all this money”? …like, in the following scene, they’re at the airport. Are we to assume all THOSE people got paid, too? 🤔
Which begs the question: what are your thoughts about humans still serving each other, if they aren’t doing it for money, or are no longer working for some giant corporation? Anyone? Thoughts? 🤷🏼♀️
Are you watching closely friend?
This is what they call "the prestige".
If we can't do it, God will do it
Kinda makes you wanna get a digital wallet so you don't miss out on this kind of thing.🤨🤔
Wait until Darlene finds out that 80% of those people will not have that money within 1-2 years and back in the accounts of the top 10%
I imagine each person got ~$10k worth of Ecoin, which for most people would be pretty life changing. Think if we could do that today...
I wish I knew how to do that
A generous giving no doubt but it will create a great inflation. People will suffer more.
THIS WILL HAPPENS SOON IN OUR WORLD WITH NESERA STAY POSITIVE EVERYONE AND KEEP YOUR HEADS UP. WE ARE SO CLOSE
Haha, inflation goes brrrrr💀
The Real Great Reset
This was the most unrealistic scene in Mr. Robot. If something like this happens the currency would become worthless immediately!
the fucking great reset
This scene had good intentions, but that money would end up being worthless in the days to come. If everyone in the world had $500K each, it would just cause more inflation.
Lol yeah this is some i'm 14 and this is deep level stuff. Anticapitalism commie talk
I highly doubt that everyone got 500k, probably is something 50k. Fsociety redistributed it to everyone in the world.
Wouldn't that just lead to massive inflation so much money being spent so quickly.
All this money would be made meaningless pretty quickly
when will this happen in reality? You know now that everyone has coinbase it might be possible for all of us to get some mulah. wheres our darlene and elliot. So, assuming Darlene sent through Coinbase data server directly to everyones coinbase wallet. Bitcoin to Coinbase babby!
Except bitcoin is down. and the USD is currently dominating globally. The reality of this happening is minimal. Unless there was a instant conversion of USD to Bitcoin somehow. Since USD does have containment of digital currency.
Check the math. This scene is impossible. For example, if the amount is 200bln, everyone in the U.S. gets about 600 bux.
@@ageresequituresse oh shoot you're totally right, why didn't I check the maths first. My rookie mistake of being Asian.

Inflation
so everybody and their mon has an ecoin wallet ... on their phone... that darlene sent an bitcoin to via runing a python script that send html to an url. ok.
I'm the real Robin Hood
the concept is good and sparks thought
but if you follow it through I'd have to guess:
every person now having a million dollars or 10 or 100 million
diminishes the value - but this is Hollywood and to be entertained
you can't look too close, uh?
she didnt create new currency she just redistributed it so the value would remain the same
@@jakeferraro4765 yeah but if everyone got a ton of cash, supply couldn't match demand, so prices would rise
@@standschen Also, the numbers wouldn't match up ever. Even just among the population of the U.S., no one would ever have even close to enough money to give everyone else a significant amount of it. For example, if the amount is 200bln, everyone in the U.S. gets about 600 bux.
@Sbr Apple's market cap is 2tln but that has nothing to do with cash on hand. As of last report, they have 48bln cash on hand. No one at all anywhere in the world has a trillion dollars. I picked the 200bln number because that is the moving ballpark of the richest human currently alive.
Also, even if it were 2 trillion, it would only go up by 1 order of magnitude. That would mean everyone in the US only gets about $6,000. Whoopty doo.
@Sbr Also true, yeah.

Unfortunately this would never work.
The real inequality is in illiquid assets like real estate and shares.
Most of the money real life people spend is on groceries, fuel, rent/mortgage, education and utilities.
Poor people becoming richer doesn't mean there are suddenly more groceries to buy at the supermarket, more apartments to rent, more school places to enter or more electricity to consume.
If people had more money, demand for these things would increase, and the ones selling would just jack up the prices proportionally.
Taking money out of the investment accounts of all the billionaires on the planet would probably decrease their power in the short term, and maybe force them to sell off some of their shares/property at a discount. The scale of that sell-off is the real determinant of changes in inequality.
But IRL, I think it'd be a minor speedbump, and inflation would remove almost all the gains for everyday people.
Your comment should be the top comment. Poor people are poor in more ways than one. A sudden windfall of cash is not going to alleviate the fact that they only acquire liabilities and vampiric money sinks that will either gnaw or chomp at their newfound liquidity. They will not acquire assets that produce money to keep their expenses below their income. With hyper inflation about to happen with everyone in Mr.Robot now having $500,000 in their bank account means that nothing will change and a $3 coffee is now $80. The writers seemed to have missed basic economics. Mansa Musa was the richest king in history and came from Africa. He crashed entire economies when he handed out too much gold on his pilgramage to Mecha due to his Muslim faith. Always remember kids. Money has no room for emotions.
@@arthurtamerango1089 With your Mansa Musa example, you'll probably appreciate where my mind goes when I think of hyperinflation. I always think of those photos of German women burning money to fuel their stoves in the 1920s during the hyperinflation post-WWI in the Weimar Republic. Extremely powerful images - I first saw one in a history textbook in eighth grade 15 years ago and although I could barely wrap my head around the concept at the time (I yearn for the naivity that was not yet being a cog in the all-consuming machine that is capitalism), I never forgot the photo. Other images from that time that are effective is one of children stacking blocks of cash tied together to play, more cutting up marks for crafts, and a man using bills to wallpaper since it was cheaper than BUYING wallpaper...and when a single loaf of bread cost 4.6 million marks.
As much as it's wishful storytelling to represent a reality where few heroic people can take down the 1% of the 1%, doing so is not viable. We would need to approach it in other ways - mainly, many folks uprising and uniting to stand against the bourgeoisie.
Predictive programming.
but giving everyone 1 million dollars means giving nothing to anyone that's not how economy works..
Show was made by leftist sadly
If this suddenly happened, for real. It would look like this for all of about a day. Then the reality of supply and demand would set in, the economy would realign; and everything would be more expensive than you could imagine. People would be quitting their jobs on the spot, only to wake up to find their money is worth a fraction of what they thought it was. When everybody suddenly wants a personal movie theater and a 6 bedroom house; the market can't tolerate it. If you specifically gave it to only the poor, it could work. However, you would send a good chunk of the middle class into poverty as you offset them. The world is too complicated today, for anything to be this easy. Imagine a the run on toilet paper we had during COVID; but for literally everything. Store shelves would be empty everywhere; overnight.
