You are doing amazing work. One tip: for trim use ceramic coating. Makes everything look brand new and lasts years without risking damaging the paint with heat. Also the results are much more uniform.
Great tip! Ill definitely give it a try. I didnt do the whole car with the torch, just wanted to test it out. too sketchy in my opinion
@@DayOffDIY I pulled the trim off, warmed it slightly to get the deep black look , then gave it a couple over with the clear coat and I swear by jt from then on.
@@fregyt Ill have to give that a try, trim products never last, they always fade after a week or two

Headlight lenses came out really nice, I'll be doing mine soon as I have another set that I can refurbish and then fit them onto the car.
A shame about the torque convertor, but yes someone who is mechanically minded can do that job. You've put a lot into that car and certainly sorted a big amount of the things that E46's need doing as preventative maintenance, so that should give a lot of peace of mind to the new owner.

Yeah this torque converter is a real PAIN. Im leaning towards knocking it out, ill probably spend the next day or two getting parts and tools lined up.

Will be very cool to see a newest cars , maybe f30 or f10 with engines n20 or n55 , they to have a many issues...like a replacing time chains and etc.P.S sorry for my english =) , i'm from Ukraine
That would be great. Ive seen lots of the N55 and N20 issues first hand when I was working at the shop. Lots of loose timing chains, carbon buildup, all kinds of stuff. Eventually id love to move up to the F bodies too.

E46s are such great cars, they make the perfect daily driver IMO
Well done, I just bought the Bosch headlight lenses on my old E46. Unfortunately, the E92 has sealed headlight units.
Awesome! I personally enjoy rebuilding the headlight buckets more than restoring them and sanding. Its fun to pull the lenses out :)

You can buy a reman torque converter for anywhere from $300-800 depending on what kind you get. Without a lift though it would be a huge pain to do. It's a $3k job if you take it to a BMW indy shop and a BMW dealer won't even do it.
That’s the plan, but I’ll probably buy used and save the money. Worth the risk. Yeah I’ve done the job a few times, never on the ground though lol

@@DayOffDIY In your case yes, I had two bad transmission that I had rebuilt by a Pro Shop one cost 1800 the other 2100

Without that temp sensor the AC won't turn on
The compressor seemed to be engaging and AC was workin prior to the install
Those plastic trims will fade away again after a few days, that method is not good for a long term result

I hear ya, but I think there’s a market for it to the right person. Also the used market is decent right now for this age, at least where I am.
Whoever does get it definitely will have a worry free car so I agree it’s worth it. Maybe try AT-202 transmission protectant by atp.

I'm sure someone needs that car for college, work and they will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are getting a reliable that's absolutely beautiful. This is just my prediction, I think someone will pay your final asking price or someone will trade you a nice bmw that they know will not last them through the summer. Plus pay you the difference. I have 2 325 wagons & 3 Sedans (e46). Plus a mini cooper. I'm a disabled 50s veteran and I've lived a while. I know 1 thing is for certain about cars, people will trade something they would not sell when they see something that will more than take there cars place. Be patient and keep putting out those great videos of awesome content. Thank you for your time.

While at the time I didn't understand but came to understand what he was saying, not exactly how I would have put it . None the less advertise on every site, club you can get your car on. From a business way of thinking you need to replace it with what subscribers you have now to make your channel grow. You are wise beyond your years so put it in perspective on what vehicle you choose next.
