Brilliant job! You definitely got that Duane vibe down! Also, sweet Les Paul you have, it looks like the tobacco burst Duane had- bravo!👏👏👏 Also subscribed!
@@webbiimusic4734 sure! Hey do you know what the higher guitar does in Revival before the "people can u hear it" part? I know the lower part ua-cam.com/video/WB-H7MvjYFI/v-deo.html
Dude I just learned something from you after 62 years..... I see you are only reverse weaving your E, B, and G.... I have always done them all but if the goal is to get a little more slinkiness out of the string, the what you have makes sense...thanks and great playing... as a friend of mine wrote in my high school yearbook... Joe, keep on the axe!
What Les Paul model and amp are you using ? And pick and strings ? I've noticed that you wrap strings 1,2 and 3 around and leave bass strings the normal way, I assume that you prefer that kind of tension or is it something else ?
Thank you!!! This guitar is a Gibson Les Paul regular line model with 57 classic pickups. In this recording, I didn't use an stack or box amp and used headphone amp. I'm using Fender HEAVY pick and YAMAHA .010-.046 strings. Yes, I prefer feeling of string tension by wrapping. Especially, It has a lot of effect at bending, so only 1-3 strings are doing that.
That was great! However, Clapton and Allman were trading licks back and forth. Duane wasn't playing all of the lead licks. Tom Dowd said they were trading lines and it grew white hot, and they weren't competing but enthusiastically pushing each other to new heights. Through a lot of this it is hard to pick out which is which, even if you are very familiar with the Les Paul and the Strat, they used the same amps.
@richwatson5308 it's def duane playing main lead on this. You can hear Clapton come in the back half of the solo and noodle here and there. But this is all duane
@@bthoma1 You are hearing overdubs that EC put in later, but he was shooting it out with Duane. There is just a slight difference in tone, but the strat is just a little brighter.
This is not Allman, it’s Clapton. Alman’s tone is much thicker on his Les Paul. I can’t believe nobody realizes this. I’ve been playing 50 years this summer and I know my stuff.
Simply amazing...we will always remember duane.
Thank you!!!
Holy Shit Bro you friggin nailed that ! Awesome job 💯✌️
that a book-matched tri-burst and it's freakin gorgeous - good job capturing the tone & vibe too
That took some work! Every note ... awesome 👍😎
Wow fantastic I assumed Eric did the lead .....Keep om keeping on
Thank you!!!
Never knew who played what on that album. While Duane was creating this magic, what was Eric doing? Trying to sing? LOL
very very nice
Skydog Lives ! Fantastic playing thanks for posting. Duane answers every line with his sweet Les Paul and you did not miss a note. Well done.
Thank you so much!
If there's really a better, classier blues/rock guitar player than Duane I will eat my Epiphone.
Awesome!! Loved it

And the music lives on
Awesome job!
Incredible
So cool you figured that out! Those bends are great. And I could hear the joy to the world lick I couldn't quite make out in the original. Thanks!
Thank you very much for watching in detail!

Wow!!! You nailed it. Thanks for posting ☮️

I admire your great talent.............

Excellent job on this!! Ive been trying to learn Duane's parts on this song too but its not easy by any means. Beautiful Les Paul too!!
Nobody can do Duane...
Love. Derek
Thank you! I think so, too.
Sweet! Great job, and that axe is a beauty, but you already know that!
Thanks for watching!
Dual humbuckers. Nice kit.
Great job, congrats!!! it is a very log solo and so difficult!!

Have you tried the Peacock Overdrive with your rig from MLAPEDALS?
Thank you!!! I have not tried it, played this song with VOX Straight 6 Drive.

Nice job. Glad you played it in standard tuning rather than what's on the record. Did you make a tab by any chance? Would pay for a copy.
Thank you for your comment!!! Sorry, but I can't make a tab.

I wanna hear the 'Yeah !, Yeah !, Yeah ! at the beginning of the song (period)
Thanks! That's true.
did you use effects pedals to get this tone?
Thank you! I used this song with VOX Straight 6 Drive.
Thank you for your prompt reply! Much appreciated!@@webbiimusic4734
Somehow you got that Duane magic. I love old Eric but playing next to Duane....
That’s Clapton on the solo. Not Allman. Bobby Whitlock said Allmans guitar was constantly out of tune during during the recording sessions.
Definitely better than the Derek Trucks/Clapton version. Pretty damn close to the original too!
Thanks for watching!
What key is this in
Thank you for watching! This piece is in the key of A minor and A major.
@@webbiimusic4734 Thanks !!
What u doing next?
I'm planning "You Don't Love Me". Thank you!
Does no one realize this is not a complete backing track being used.. All the clapton leads were left off duh
Good GooD GOOD my, brother! I know that didn't take much work, eh?🤪
Thank you!
Tasty
Thank you Bobby Whitlock...he knows why
This is great. It must have taken a ton of practice.
That was great but nobody can get those quadrupled notes exactly right
Thank you!!!
You should slow it down nd teach people.

Good Lord above if you don’t know Duane ruled this song, just hang it up.
@@chriswick7987 This is actually the worst playing Duane did on the Layla album. Can’t you hear the difference between a Les Paul and a strat.
Not. Duane
Isn’t this the Clapton solo?
