I know it wasn't that long ago but this song takes me back to 2011. I remember listening to this whole album when it came out road tripping to San Francisco.. This album is a lot of fun. And creatively it was very unique. I love finding hidden gems like you guys!

Yeah, they were previously called The Jakes, and released two EP's. One of these, Shake My Hand, is a must-listen. Maybe better than their recent album. I don't think their first EP is on the internet but I never searched that hard.

yasmin4494 Personally I thought it was basically that he was going through a rough time ("in the night where I live", "I got buried"), but he's in love with someone. And he wants to spend every moment with her, learning about her and her life ("there's strange force in your kiss" "alls divine in desire" "isles of philosophy"). And he doesn't look like he's gonna make it ("I know I don't read that well" basically says when you look at him it doesn't seem very promising), but he's saying that because of her, he's gonna rise out of what he's going through ("it won't be long before I rise in song" "cause I got you")
But I agree it's pretty vague. I think you can just make it what it means to you.
