idc what other people say i love the new arc and designs i think its great to see ciel less depressed and more around people his age and cuteness. he's adorbs
YES ! he indeed looks less depressed which is nice
i personally love the animation, it fits the setting of this arc extremely well - yes black butler is dark and gothic but this arc takes place in a school setting - a place that is traditionally pretty mundane and cheery for most of the students, and it’s Ciel’s first time interacting with kids his age - i think the vibes feeling out of place for some viewers actually matches how Ciel must feel - he is way out of his comfort zone, only really knowing how to communicate with adults, not other kids. i think as the story progresses it’ll feel more connected as Ciel finds his footing - he’s still navigating Weston and learning how to behave and interact with everyone. i think the art and the music fits this very well. i’m really excited for the cricket tournament where ciel can show his true colors (manipulative) and i think the climax of the story is going to be very intense and extremely intriguing!! i also think this arc is just a breath of fresh air, and is a bit of petty simple fun that Ciel doesn’t get to deal with, poor boy is always dealing with the most traumatic events imaginable

Honestly I’m upset about the artstyle change, cause I like the “old anime” style that they kinda had it was also very unique but now with them changing it it kinda looks like this casual normal school anime’s especially with the bubble highlights and the detailed eyelashes, I just prefer the old style, but I am really happy the show is back, and it’s not like I can force them to change it. but even this seems cool and I’ll still be willing to watch it
True... Nothing can replace the old Artstyle, it was more fitting for the story... But let's enjoy the new season either way ✨
Exactly the same sentiments. It's clear Cloverworks wants to do things with a bang, but despite the comedy we oftentimes got in S1 and in the OVAs, there was always a clear, somber undertone to the story, which the animation and design from that time picked up on and maintained all through out. The new season does not need all the new bells and whistles to make it good; let the story and the original design carry it forward, that is more than enough (as it has sufficed for the earlier seasons/OVAs). I think Cloverworks completely missed the mark on this one, with regard to many stylistic decisions. Still, am glad to have the series back. I watched Kuro since the day the first episode of the first season dropped, and I've followed the manga religiously through the years.

Ik it’s underrated, but it has to be my favorite. I love a classic mystery, and they tied the plot in so nicely and gave it so much complexity. It was perfect

Btw the softer design kind of matches Yana Toboso's newer style as well! She soften Sebastian's features a lot, because she always feels the need to one up herself and make him prettier XD (don't quote me on that. It's an info I read at some point, but the first half of the sentence is based on my observation).
Overall I am truly the happiest with this new season! OP and ED incredible, the animation is GORGEOUS, the adaptation is faithful and the keep showing us Sebastian's kitten fangs!

The new design for Sebby is...something. I find the emphasized eyelashes, the tiny fangs, and the thick linework for his lips very distracting, even the way his hair is done is just...no. It's too much. I revisited S1 and S2 just a little while ago (complete episodes, courtesy of Muse Asia here on YT, yay), and the simplicity of his original design is WAY better. I like how his eyes can do the talking just by the shade of them, that akuma na aka. Less is more. I just can't with the new design. The fangs, in particular, is just a heavy-handed detail; fans already know he is a demon, and this is canonically, the second season (if we don't count Circus and Murder).
I personally loved the fangs it's a nice add, the rest is as you said ... Unnecessary and distracting, still hot af tho

Yess I agree. The old style was simpler yet had a very distinct look, while this new season kinda looks like some generic school anime. Still, veryyy grateful for the new season and so far it's been pretty good, I just miss the old art style sometimes

i'm a big fan the manga, i have tom 1 to 21, but i stopped bcz of money issues (back in 2016 ~) then the op2 of Black butler came back in my head out of nowhere and i just .. "OH THIS MANGA EXISTS I FORGOR" and i saw that multiple seasons came out so... yeah i m gonna watch all over again (without the s2 filler even tho i like it) i still have the manga in my mind so i want to see if the adaptation is good !
s3 adaptation is soo good, the movie is amazing too, enjoy watching ✨ and i hope that the issues are gone now 🙏🏻

As a black Butler fan since 2008. I understand that the fans are not liking the new art style but honestly, I think it’s really good that we do have the new art style because I understand that we haven’t had any news for the last seven years and they just threw a softball at us of this new anime season and I love the fact that it’s getting picked back up because I was thinking about it a year before I saw a video a friend of mine sent me and when I saw it, I said oh my gosh, the art style looks so pretty and clover works. Did a very beautiful job on public school arc I understand A1 pictures had their reasons but again I’m glad that the show got picked back up and hopefully will be able to get some new merch because I’m kind of running out of merch ideas I want to pick up plus I’ve always wanted to for my favorite demon butler Sebastian

@@Nino_a7 I even got a tattoo of Sebastian on my left forearm (since I guess he is left handed 😅) I also hope the animation studios pick up the other arcs as well I love to see the manga come to life and dang since I became a fan since late 2008 it will be about 16 years but if ya make another video I look forward to it

I hate the animation so much. It is so bright, the old animation actually looks vintage which matches the era it is set in. They took the 'black' out of 'Black' Butler here. The random sparkles flying around remind me of a child on an editing app going ham. Plus the random long cuts to a black screen were so bad. I love Seb's fangs, but both characters' eyelashes are horrendous. A lot of the animation feels AI generated. I am pissed because it is such an iconic show, coming back after so long, and there is so much potential they are wasting. Ofc it is just the first episode but I don't exactly have high hopes from this season. Some things were great but mostly, I was rather disappointed. Will still eat it up though lol

Circus arc overall art is VERY BRIGHT but I dont see anyone complaining. Did you actually watch the entire episode? Or did you only care to watch the trailers? The trailers are the only place where Seb's face looks funny. But Public School arc has the best art and animation compared to most of the arcs we've been getting, all these hate don't make any sense. EYELASHES are TOBOSO-SENSEI'S THING. CIRCUS ARC ALSO EMPHASIZED ON THEIR DAMN THICC EYELASHES, ESPECIALLY DOLL'S.
Not to mention, it is great that this arc is not handled by A1 Pictures like the all the previous seasons who have the reputation of being terrible with their employees with marked suicide cases. The new studio CloverWorks are doing a hella fine job and a brilliant take on the overall art direction.
I havent seen the Book of Atlantic yet (i was gonna wait until it was all released to binge but i forgot about it) So now i’m rereading the manga instead. I’m at the start of the Circus arc so i have a lot to catch up to 😅💪

Idk why ppl don't like the art style and complain so much about it, as long it follows the manga everything will be fine, I hardly care how it looks even though it looks beautiful to me.
True, we should just enjoy it... But maybe because it doesn't feel like black butler anymore and the dark gloomy vibe is gone this is why there is some complains, but it is what it is
Well if you like it don't expect others to do so inmp this is not Sebastian he lost all of his demonic charm the real Sebastian is left behind in the previous seasons especially in the book of Atlantic movie

i loved the second season honestly! Yes it wasnt canon (and the whole thing with Ciel was a bit too much and didnt make sense for me lol) but nevertheless it still had an enjoyable story when it came to Alois and his house. I love how Alois’ story ended and after learning more about Hannah and Luka it really got me in the feels. To this day Alois is still in my (long) list of my favorite characters!
Yes it was very enjoyable!! Didn't like alois at first but they kinda added more depth to his character at the end ( i still think that he's a brat tho can't forget the scene where he took hannas eyes out it gives me a headache 💀💀)
So many people in the comments clearly haven't read the manga... and I hate how people keep comparing it to the old anime, it's supposed to be based on the MANGA not the original filler infested crap we got before. You need to get that old anime out of your mind. The old anime designs were awful. This new one is better.

I didn't even know there's a new season, so I'm glad I found your video! I wonder if it's the School Arc or just a side project that isn't canon? Gonna check it out. But the manga is really bad at the moment. It's just a stream of endless backstories for secondary characters. To me this last arc feels like the author is desperately stalling for time to avoid ending the manga. At this point I lost all interest towards these secondary characters, I just want the plot to actually move forward, please...
So I don't actually recommend anyone to read the manga in the state that it's now, unless they're fine with being left hanging for (likely) years more. It poses many questions and then refuses to address them, which is so very frustrating. Maybe this is how manga is supposed to be... but I read another ongoing manga before and the experience wasn't even remotely this frustrating! The pace of its story was much faster. And all the recent chapters (of Black Butler) are so tiny.
So glad i helped ! ✨✨... Ah yes.. I've seen a lot of people saying that yana is intentionally making the manga longer, well i can't complain much like I don't want to to end yet i wanna see more progress in the story 😭

I like Sebastian’s new look, I think he’s still handsome and I like Sebastian’s original look because sticks to the manga art style. I can appreciate both, they have different charms. Something I can’t deal with? Another filler non canon season. So I hope they stick to the plot. Super happy it’s back 🥰

The reason the last few years of manga are so poor is the Twisted Wonderland. And tnat's a huge shame, you can even see that Toboso don't really draw the most detailed version od Kuroshitsuji new chapter.
And as I'm happy to see nea animated series, after.watching 3 episodes I feel like they're so flat. Domparing to BOC it's just weak. But I still hope it will get better, was waiting too long not to get something amazing like BOC, BOM and BOTA 😂.

Yep. The way manga looks (so not Toboso style, especially in case of Sebastian's face) and the way the plot is going... It just look like she don't care that much anymore but don't quit on the series because it's still popular. Andspopular means - money. Same goes for TW - a lot of money. I'm kinda mad about this.
Kuroshitsuji is ma favourite series and it's sad to sea how little attention it gets these days. And ofc - anime is a good sign... But idk, the lack of kuro-drawings on Toboso's Twitter etc just make me (and not only me) feel abandonem as a fan of the series. But I can see a lot of kuro-like drawings (really good, Toboso style drawings) of TW 😢.

Yeah, Ciel looks fine, I feel like they took the old art style and the book of circus art style and combined them. New Sebastian literally just makes me want to die, not in a good way. Sebastian was that character that was always drawn very true to the original manga art style of Yana Toboso, he is a being that does not age, he should not change. I don't know why they did this, but I believe it is due to the overall anime styles currently shifting all to fit today's standards. Newer anime styles all look the same, very blobby and over-overexaggerated. I really hope this era of uncanny art styles comes to an end soon. I miss the 2000s. And I wasn't even legal back then.

I am just not sold on the arc. Haven't watched it yet, but it makes very little sense to me. Ciel is a nobel, business man with private tutors and secret affairs. Guess I will just have to let myself get convinced. Also where does it fit in the plot line? I just grrr. Not sure about it

It's taken directly from the manga, which has a HUGE overarching plotline that ties in ALL the story arcs. It fits in. Trust me. Or read the manga yourself if you (understandably) don't want to trust an internet stranger.

Not the biggest fan of the manga, the fanservice is a huge ew for me, but the overall plot I find interesting enough to follow through and read. I think they're copying the manga's shift in artstyle like how s4 of attack on titan copied the manga's artstyle compared to the last 3 seasons

That is amazing that the fandom finally gets the new season! By the internet standards, we are practically ancient, so, it feels great that we are still catered to!
Having said that, I am not happy with how the season looks like, and I dislike the character designs so much. It looks like everyone, including Ciel and other children, got botox injections, especially when it comes to lips. Redmond is the biggest offender to me here. Why did they have to give them kooleen-certified juicy lips? I cannot get over the mouth animations as well, they look so junky. Everyone looks aged down and baby-boy-fied, and it is so weird. And Sebastian is not a demon any more, he is a 25 year old trust fund baby on some weird poor people cosplay trip at a school. I would like to know how scary scenes are going to look in this season, because I have no idea how you translate this colorful speciment into something horror-esque.
Will I watch the season? Sure, I watched the second season after all. And I really hope I will like it more than the second season.

Well I have to say that I was waiting so bad but I didn't like how the story was going. I mean the frames were wroooooong. Some frames were ugly! Sometimes too short(just like a manga being a little animated)! It was not funny anymore. And yeah, I prefer the ancient design also 💀🥹
