    Actually, those reflectors are there for a pretty good reason. There have been many times I've followed vehicles with no lights on, and the reflectors were the only thing that kept me from running into them. I think I'll just leave mine alone, thank you very much.

      @@user-bx7nw1ve6y Okay. Well…now my reflectors are on all the time since I always drive with my lights on. They also serve as extra turn signals to alert other drivers.

      @@JoesCarSmartsNY How do you know your tail lights are always on? Electrical malfunctions do tend to occur. It's likely that none of the drivers I've encountered with tail light troubles knew the condition existed. This is just a really dumb idea that should be avoided for safety's sake.

      @@user-bx7nw1ve6y 😂So, if I mysteriously have a total tail light failure…having additional tail lights is more dangerous. I understand you don’t like the idea. That doesn’t make it a hazard.

      I goofed a little on this editing. Sorry the wire colors aren’t clearly explained. You can use a voltmeter to test the wires to see which wire color is correct.

    Anyone know the wire gauge?
    Do you recommend using a soldering iron and a heat shrink tube; or could one use a heat shrink, self-soldering butt connector?
    It’s like a heat shrink tube with built-in solder, so when you splice, all you need is a heat source when you slide the tube over the wires. The tube shrinks and the solder melts over the area you connected the wires.
    I don’t own a soldering iron, so I’m not sure if one method is better than the other or if it’s personal preference. Great video!

    • @JoesCarSmartsNY
      @JoesCarSmartsNY  2 роки тому +1

      I prefer the solder and shrink method. I know some people like the heat shrink crimps tho. The wires are probably 18 AWG.

    So do the lights get brighter when braking and turn signal on? I have to connect the wire together from both brake and turn signal to get both? Thanks. Also I have wires a little thinner than what you have, what’s the best wire to use for this? Thanks

    • @JoesCarSmartsNY
      @JoesCarSmartsNY  2 роки тому

      You can choose whether you want them to get brighter when braking OR flash with signals. You can’t have both options. You should not tie your brake and signal wires together. You should use 18 gauge wire minimum and it should have a good insulation jacket for moisture etc.

    Joe you stopped when you were talking about the white wire. which wire does it go to? the blue one?

    • @JoesCarSmartsNY
      @JoesCarSmartsNY  3 роки тому

      Sorry it is a little confusing the way I edited that. If you want to wire it exactly like I did the white wire will go to the turn signal wire in the 2-Pin grey plug. On the left side you need the tan wire, on the right side you need the green.
      This is in subtitles in the video, but they’re only on the screen very briefly. Thanks for watching a commenting.

    Hi. Just want to ask, i got mine installed however there seems to be a problem with led light that I've bought or wiring? So what happens is when i step on my brakes all the bright red brake lights from my taillights and bumper lights flashes including my interior clusters from the head unit & gauge area, now when the park light is turned On everything seems to be normally functioning as expected to be. Could it be that the led rear bumper lights that i bought were faulty? Or could it be an error on my wiring?

    • @JoesCarSmartsNY
      @JoesCarSmartsNY  2 роки тому +1

      My first suggestion is that it could be a mistake with your wiring. You can take one of these back out and test it at the battery by touching the wires to the battery posts. If the light works properly there them there’s something going on with your wiring. Maybe you tied one of your new wires incorrectly to a ground wire?

    • @ChryslerChristler

      @@JoesCarSmartsNY Thanks for the swift reply! I'll go with your suggestion and do some testing, my assumption also is that there's something wrong with the wiring.
