Great video, as always. Something I've failed to tell you that I appreciate, is that you treat Joe just like any other member of the family. Lots of love, attention, but when he's kind of being in your face, you let him know that as well. So healthy for Joe to learn boundaries and for you to be wise enforcing them. Well done!

We called those meatballs porcupine meatballs. When basting like that I pull out my turkey baster, works great as long as there are no lumps of veggies. I try and make soup like you make your chili but my soup always ends up more like a stew in thickness. We had a 7 layer dinner that you make in an oven proof bowl, you start with a layer of sliced potato then onion then whatever two veggies you like (ie corn and peas) then a layer of rice (quick cook works best) and then raw ground beef that you top with a can of tomato soup, cover and bake 350 degrees until potatoes done (35 - 45 min) the only spices are salt and pepper on every other layer. I would make this to stretch out the meat as I had one family member who would take all the meatballs in a dish. The old time recipes taste the best on a cold winter day. It is so nice to see all the kids helping out.

@@acountrylife it is a cheap and easy meal, if I only have half a pound of ground beef I can make it filling by increasing the potatoes onions and rice. If the beef isn't brown enough just take the foil off and put back in the oven for a few more minutes. Just season it to suit your family - I have added a couple of squirts of ketchup to the canned soup with a dash of garlic powder and a teaspoon of worcestershire sauce.

The old ones were not very good, but this season they have been great. Have you ever made the oyster crackers with ranch seasoning and oil? Observation…Your “chili” is more like a Goulash I think, right? Honestly, I didn’t even see Chile put into your chili. A chili should not have macaroni and depending on region out west, not even beans…unless you are making Chile beans. That said, I bet it was delicious for your family and that’s what counts… we out West are perhaps more protective with our western dishes, I completely enjoy your more mid western dishes that are so different from western and west coast cooking. Love your cranberry segments! Appreciate you still cook with Lard and of course the cheese cheese cheese! Love it!

Ut oh the red aprons going on!! That means heavy duty fun in the kitchen. 😊 I haven’t been to the grocery store in so long. I have so much stuff too. Running out of room. But I’m sure I’ll need a quick stop soon.

Sheet pan meal looks delicious, good thing we don't have smell opportunities via phones as it no doubt will smell as good as it looks and I won't be able to have a plate full.
There is no way I can get venison for meatballs so I will have to make this with ground chuck.
    Ty for sharing your recipe.🙂

I live in Delaware and there are big chicken producers here. They say that on any given day there are more chickens than people in the state. I’m pretty sure that chickens are only 3 to 4 months old when they are processed. Someone will correct me if I’m wrong.

There are several Sanderson Farms here in the College Station Texas area. I am really not sure what they are feeding those chickens but the cut meat parts are HUGE. 😀

I know that song: went for three things but spent $128. I sing it all too frequently.
