Obviously Fury has numerous differences, like the world being a single huge area, but Odyssey already revitalized exploration-centric Mario years ago. It just feels to me like people get selective amnesia when discussing how new and awesome Fury is.
my favourite iteration of Bowser is in the games where he talks (RPGs and stuff). the best characterization of Bowser in my opinion is in Super Paper Mario where all his lines are hilarious. and then he sacrifices himself to save Princess Peach and i cried.
I genuinely feel dependent on his voice saying those things for me to feel like everything's okay. He keeps sounding sadder and sadder, though, on the pre recorded videos, and I'm not getting my fix. I require that tone of voice mispronouncing words for comedic effect.
