Wow looks easy. I dunno why mechanic shops told me they don’t have scanner to open my trunk??? Scanner? And I’m afraid the Mercedes dealer will charge to much. I just need mine open to replace a fuse located in trunk so my ignition key and alarm will work again.

Hello and thanks very much for your video Marosh! After searching for a fix for my car, a 2007 Mercedes C280 4Matic, your video saved me time and money. I was about to take my car into the dealership. Your explanation was spot on. After viewing your video, it only took me about 15 minutes to get in. Most of the time was spent on drilling out the nut holding the cover/frame. Once trunk was open, I was able to not only remove the latch, but the actuator too. I took the latch apart and lubricated it. I also lubricated the moving parts of the actuator. Trunk now opens perfectly. Big Thanks!!

Well , I had a bad situation , the car was lucked , I opened the trunk to replace a $2.00 brake bulb , put the fob in the trunk and shut the boot, pretty stupid, all hassle after that. called the tow truck the couldn't open the trunk , called a locksmith , they were asking $350.00 ,towed it to a MB dealer and they said it will cost at least $400.00 ,
I was desperEd , so I did what I should have done to begin with , I BROKE THE TAIL LIGHT , put my arm from the opening and got the key, 3 hours later , bought a used tail light for $80.00 installed it and that is it , the nightmare was over.
+Rottweiler Lover I just heard that you can open the trunk by pulling up on the door handle and hitting the unlock switch at the same time. It's on a 2004 E500.
Hi Michael,
You can open your hood / bonnet by jacking up your Mercedes (jack left side if left hand drive, or vice versa) then remove fender liner and locate the bonnet cable and pull.
I've added a video on how to do this, please check my videos list.
Good idea but didn't work for me. It seems that the end of the cable is detached from the latch itself and not from the key mechanism.

Damn this worked thank goodness. I left my jumper cables in the trunk and i got them i turn my c55 on but now the trunk button on the door says it’s open when im driving

On a C 280 without the split 40/60 rear seat you cannot access the trunk. The rear seats are hooked to the frame that is accessed through the TRUNK. Thought you should know.

When you say get into the hood or bonnet. Are you still talking about the trunk? I tried your suggestions but a central rivet right in the middle if the panel stops me from taking the panel off. How will I know the cable in the wheel we'll is the trunk lock cable. Thanks.

is good but trunk and gas door is locked. Key is not opening. I know that there is air pump problem but it is in the trunk. Any suggestions
it goes alot easyer :-) just put out the left number plate lights and take a long small tool to puch to the steal cable ;-) works on every mercedes

I have a 88 CE 230 and I don't have the lock mechanism at all, but the trunk is closed. I touched some cable I think, but would it work if I just pull it hard enough? :D

They finally got in. Had to drill a hole in rear deck panel behind the license plate. Still cost $375 since my guy could not find the actuator used. Orale, pendejo, I didn't see any suggestions on how to get in...exo501.
Sometimes you gotta eat it.
It would be helpful if you put what year of car this works for in the title so that people with newer cars will not try this method.
Mercedes stealership wants as much as $450 to open and replace actuator. My aftermarket guys tried removing the back seat and are just as baffled. More help?

Hi anyone have idea how to open the trunk on W211 E240 2006?My key got locked inside the trunk and the battery already dead.Tried to jump start using the jump start point,and yes other electrical parts working but not the trunk.The trunk button on driver's door and trunk latch wont open.almost give up to figure out how to open the trunk.hmmm.anyone can help to solve this issue?
