On a recent visit to a Massachusetts wetland, I was able to capture eighty plus eastern painted turtles in one drone clip. Some snakes rounded out the early spring day.
Awesome video as always! I remember in the mid 2010's one day in March at my snake spot, temps in the 50's, there were garters sluggishly slithering on legit ice covering the vernal pools. I think reptiles are a lot more cold tolerant than we give them credit for.
I agree and thanks for sharing! A couple of years ago I watched a Blanding's turtle and a couple of painteds trek over several hundred feet of open ice.
So many turtles! Great stuff 👍. Spring was starting to come here in WI with some boreal chorus frogs starting to call but before I could catch one it snowed a ton and temps went down to the 30s...
Well, it happened here as well. We just got slammed with big snow storm, and colder temps. Overall, March is dyslexic!. Milder weather will return for the both of us soon enough. Good luck with the boreal chorus frogs!
Awesome!
Great bobcat at the end too!
Thanks, I just had to include the bobcat especially since it was captured on the trail cam the same morning!
Thanks Mark!!
Awesome guy Mark.
Nice!
Amazing!
I really like the drone shots. The water was really clear and the surface undisturbed. I like how you can see into the water.
This time I used a polarized filter to help reduce glare even more!

Wow! Wonderful footage Mark. I'm ready for spring here in Maine!
March is certainly playing both winter and spring roles this year! After today's snowstorm winter won a round!
I got some Nerodia and Thamnophis here in Virginia a couple weeks ago! Now it is snowing haha...terrible trick via the mother nature
Such is March! Winter vs spring. We just got slammed with heavy snow. Winter won today's round.
