@@TheDiscriminatingGamer oh that's a crime right there. With such a nice group you have its a pity you didn't experience this classic. I recently got the expansion but until know I wasn't able to test yet. I hope one day you get to try Warrior Knights! Greetings from Argentina!
Thanks for another unique review, Cody! Two questions: 1. Would you mind updating review or comments after more plays? Committing $60-90, 5h and all the hassle to get 3 to 5 people together without being sure if it's 100% worth could lead... to absence of a second try with the same group :'( 2. Do you think the game is worth it in terms of price? There are some awesome GMT games that could be had for the same money and amount of time.
I don't know that I'll have time to make another full video review of it in the future, but I'm sure at some point I will comment on it. I've played a few games now and have enjoyed it. For a three hour or so game, with this many components, and think the price is appropriate. However, there are a lot of good GMT Games as well. If you're asking me if you should get this game or something else, I would need to know the something else. Thanks.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer got it, thanks! I think in general posting some kind of overview of 'how I feel about x, y and z, some more plays and years later' would be awesome, considering that some of the older games. PS. sorry about the late reply - caught some cold a couple of days ago >
Hi Cody, what was the opening music, I'm not very familiar with medieval music, but it reminded me a bit of Gabrieli, but he was a 16th century composer?
Reviews for this from other places were more negative which disappointing me because I think Paradox Interactive needs a presence in the board game space to both learn and contribute, and make some great games.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer That's good. Are you looking forward to the Hearts of Iron game? It is being called a Euro but it keeps the map and has a tactical battle board like in Axis and Allies. I also wish this game had been cheaper/had less minis.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Right, I was really hoping since Paradox was so big that these games could do a big print run at a lower price, and some kickstarter savings. Not really looking to be the case.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer I am sure you will enjoy it immensely. It is a digital historical board game (Crusader Kings 2). Paradox games have several historical grand strategy games and they all play like board games.
I was so looking forward to this game but the reviews and what people are saying, CK:TBG is sounding and looks like a kids game, that's disappointing... oh well. I've just saved £100. The second you said about a WW2 game I stopped watching. The world doesn't need another thing about WW2. There's a million things about it. No!
Thank you as always for another great review.
Thank you, sir.
Thanks Cody for another great review. 👍
Happy to help!
This seams to be quite similar to Warrior Knights, doesn't it?
I have not played Warrior Knights - but I always wanted to.

Curious, what is the original version of that Cruel Necessity song? (Very catchy and great song BTW).
Thanks. Shawn wrote it for our review of Cruel Necessity about six years ago. ua-cam.com/video/ZQOX1KGpyUU/v-deo.html

It's called "The Long Night" and it is on UA-cam's free audio library. That's all I know.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Thanks!
1:58 "or the German state" - and you see Poland as a part of Germany XD
How would you call it?
Depends of the period: Civitas Schinesghe, Kingdom of Poland or Duchy of Poland
emperor123 what about Hungary in there?

I've really enjoyed the games I've played. Aside from the occasional wonkiness, which they are addressing.

Umbrella? Haha.
Indeed.
Man I’m just disappointed by the board. How can you even call it crusader kings if there literally no holy land or crusades to do.
The Crusades are an abstraction. They're in the game, but work a bit differently than you might expect.
Not too late am I
Darveysh Dhillon indeed.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer That is my catchphrase
Great song at the end, just wish y'all were on a free speech platform like gab.
The PC game is better... it is basically a board game as well.
Haven't played it.

You shouldn't say that to a WWII historian, Lol.
