    Spot on. When I had my JT living in SoCal w/ 37’s ball joints started to wear within a few months. I had 4.10 and it was fine for my needs UNTIL I started adding weight. Sold the jeep and looking to get into a new JT soon in San Antonio.

    I appreciate you uploading.
    I'm building a JTRD on stock axles. The way I would do it if I could go back and start over is: geo correction, springs, triple bypass shocks and 37s on some beadlocks. You'll have tons of fun for minimal investment and then can just upgrade as necessary.
    The consensus, among the prerunner forum I've been to, is that if you do axle shafts, guss and trusset the axle then you don't need 1 tons or hydorassist.
    Couple of things I'm doing: I'm utilizing a geometry correction even with Synergy Stage 3 kit and I'm not regearing but instead I'm going Stage 2 - 300WHP 550WTQ.

      Yes, mine had a lift and 35s on it when I bought it. It was fun, but no acceleration, gas mileage was 💩 and they'd obviously not regeared it. Traded the 35s for some stock Mojave wheels/tires and overall usability went way up. Gas mileage up by 10%

    Great Video by the way, I am currently thinking on 35 or 37 move. So if you were to do it today, would you still do 37" ? or just go 35" with a ~3" lift, which allows you to keep most of it (regear from 3.73 to 4.10 maybe?)? What would be a good choice? Since moving to 37, mostly, means after tear and wear of components, mostly.

    • @TXJeepDad
      @TXJeepDad  4 місяці тому

      Honestly, I love my 3.5 lift and 37s look amazing on JTs, however it's a slippery slope and eventually it costs money on parts. Heck I'd do a 2.5 lift and 35s all day esp for a daily driver. Then replace stuff as needed. You could ride 373s w 35s way longer than on 37s. You may be disappointed w anything less than 4.88 and 5.13s on 37s.
      Kinda depends on your pockets and deep they are !

    Hey man, I’m new to the Jeep brand, I was wondering what PSI would my 37s need to be at for the tire warning light to stop showing? Hope to hear from you soon!

    • @TXJeepDad
      @TXJeepDad  Рік тому +1

      Generally anything below 28 psi my light comes on. If you have 37s you also need to change the tire size diameter in the computer so your speedometer will be accurate. (You may already have, but if not then...)
      You can use a Tazer or J scan and it will also let you set the tire psi you want (so the light wont come one anymore). So you could set it at 20, 25, 28.. literally any number you want. (Tazer mini not tazer lite)
      Also PSI can differ greatly depending on tire load rating etc.
      Look up "How to Chalk test tires" to find the ideal PS for your tire. That will help you dial it in for even tire wear 👍🏼

    These trucks have much bigger steering and suspension pieces than past jeeps, if you break or wear them out in a few thousand miles you probably need to slow down on speed bumps or something, I had a tj on 35s just regeared with lockers and id Baja blast it and jumped it a few times and never needed up steering or ball joints for the 80k I had it for, these trucks got d44 that are modern and can work fine with 37s

Besides, when I go off-road I only do the roads/trails rated "easy" or "moderate," not the ones rated "difficult" (trail damage likely) or "extreme" (trail damage guaranteed) -- I don't find scratching, gouging,bending/breaking truck parts or rolling-over "fun" as many seem to I guess (given the DF/S things they do on their UA-cam channels). But mainly, as I was living in Colorado at the time (in TX now but may go back to CO in 2 years), even on the hwy I couldn't think of a BETTER vehicle to be in to get me home safely in a serious snowstorm/blizzard -- and the (big enough) 33" Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires are a huge reason.

That is, ONLY if housing prices there -- as well as the currently TOO HIGH mortgage interest rates (!) -- go WAY down. So I'm using the time here in TX to pay 2 things off so I have a way better DTI Ratio when I go in to a lender for a mortgage pre-qualification letter. I'm hoping by late 2025, home prices/apartment rentals (also very high in CO) -- AND said mortgage interest rate -- will then be in my "comfortable" ball-park. Otherwise, I guess I stay in TX and buy here instead. Only time will tell...but at least my Gladiator will be paid-off before then. If your spouse asks say no way, much less.. but shoot now I've added
      DL / TR / lift / tires / gears / ball joints/ steering shaft brace, steering stabilizer... I'm well over 10K.. next are axle shafts / lockers front and rear. Then it's done 😆

    What a negative Nelly. I put 37s on my Gladiator Rubicon with aftermarket offset wheels then put the Mopar lift in the following month. No rubbing problems even before the lift. Guess you should start with something a little better next time. 8000 miles and no play in anything not to mention I have the 100,000 mile warranty to cover all the crap you are crying about.

    Man!!!! You answered every question I needed to hear. I’ve been trying to decide on 37’s vs 35’s. I’m gonna stick with a 2.5” metal cloak GC on 35’s. Any suggestions on additions or changes with this setup? Thanks brother. Awesome.

      Heck I'd run it and as you feel a beefy or upgraded component can help, then make the move. I find having a local experienced shop to bounce stuff off of is very helpful. Don't be afraid to ask questions and get various opinions before you mod.
      I wasted some cash early one by not doing enough research.
      Most importantly have fun! 35s won't beat up as bad as 37s and 40s do 👍🏼

    A year? But only 3000 miles on the setup? Seems odd.
