Tribute to the first real movie about the war in Viet Nam. Platoon is an Academy Award winning 1986 Viet Nam War film written and directed by Oliver Stone and starring Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, Forest Whitaker, Kevin Dillon, Keith David, John C. McGinley and Johnny Depp.

Best war film clips of all time thrown in puts the cheery on the cake - Thanks dude - listened about 5 times and still not sick of it :-)))) may be the stimulants !!!!!!

Sean Jones exactly! It's the rhythm that holds its emotion, it's iconic sound, aslong as one doesn't stray too much from that, it can be great! If done right! This is amazing! This in my opinion has a more aggressive but still sad kinda emotion to it, it's also oddly so so motivating or pumping at the same time, really makes ones imagination vivid for me anyhow. Thought provoking like the original
makes me want to rewatch Platoon
My favorite line in this movie is when Barnes tells them to ' take the pain' ..

as amazing as the original was, this is in its own right a modern master piece.
Personally i think THIS particular mix is fantastic (some of DJ Tiesto's, not so much), i think it captures what i believe to be the real heart of the piece, which is the triumph at the end and i think this mix brings that positive energy into the rest of the song. Will it ever compare to the original masterpiece?, no, but then its not really meant to, remixes as such arent meant to plagiarize the work, they are to pay homage as an artist to another artists work that has touched them.

Tiesto aint insulting the original by samuel barber just making a classic tunemore up beat and up to date i love all versions of this ..........

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion... tho you gotta try 2 keep a lil open mind as well... actually when you do a remix on someone's work the primary reason is bcuz U actually love that work & disrespecting is the last thing U wanna do to it. Remix is simply putting a lil personalized touch on something you already love and w/Tiesto's case lots of ppl felt the same way he did, appreciated this remix and i know lil percentage thinks the other way. As we all know you can't please everyone...

i whas born in 1986 :D and i love tiestio version asvell but alsoe Lord Of Trance Version too. everytime i listen to the song it reminds me of Medal of Honour Game the old one`s but alsoe war movies. :)

it's generally considered to convey a generally sad emotion to it's audience.
Techno is... I have no idea. From what I can understand from various songs, it's a generally happy emotion being conveyed. It seems to me that the genre generally couldn't be considered actual music, because it almost never expresses anything, although, yeah, there is songs which can.

Mix is great, it just goes to show that Barber's original piece was amazing if others want (including Tiesto) want to use the piece... It's still Barbers, but just Tiesto's take on it....
