The best rendition of the National Anthem ever. This song was meant for him. The opening line is, Jose can you see? Sorry a little humor there for ya kid 😉
I shed a few tears.
BRAVO JOSE,BRAVO JOSE,BRAVO JOSE..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to cry!
I rember my dad broutht our TV to my Fourth Grade Class. Dearborn Mi .
His wife is from Detroit. She was the president of the Jose Feliciano Fan Club, and they met through Ernie. Jose and Ernie were friends until Ernie passed.
Best one I ever heard
Hoo, hoo, Jose, You did it, and its so beautiful and passionate .
Loved that version. Best ever! Loved that team! My favorite. Down 3-1
Wonderful! Wonderful! Thank you Jose.
Pretty much cost him his career, after he played this version in 1968 no one would book him or play his music on the radio. !!!!!!! Glad redemption finally came threw. !
Perfection
The brief guitar improvisation was intended to show to all the rebellious spirit still on him. And the public welcomed it. Jose was in the verge of crying, feeling that. I was so glad, that I cried for him.
Fifty years later...José won. God bless that glorious human being!
Beautiful
Jose' plays guitar like my other beloved guitarist Keith Richards and i love it !!!!
Finally, they gave him a guitar that actually worked properly x)
lord yes, someone who knew something about outdoor sound hooked him up correctly.
Love it!
I always wanted him play the national anthem at l NFL game st Mexico city, Mexico
Bravooo beautifull special
El cieguito de Lares metiendo timbales!! Bravo José!!!
GREAT JOSE
José play the long game ❤❤❤
He took a tune that is rather mediocre (politely described) and made it beautiful. His version should replace the 'traditional' version. Would love to hear his take on America the beautiful.
I would love to hear his take on happy birthday with his artistic flair
I think the estate of the song's dead composer would want a prohibitive chunk of money from it. There've been national parks which either prohibit it from being sung at parties there...or try to charge for royalties. It's sickening.
@@christymcdaniel3906 -- Good. I saw the courts put it there, finally...and Warner Chappell Music--a division of the Evil Satanic Warner Bros. Empire--agreed to pay back $14 million in collected licensing fees. The fascists.
No CRitics now! back 1968 there were! may be also thinking that he was not an American as well during that game. look into your background from you great-grandparents to see where they came from!
America was then still riding a wave of smug selfrighteousness after 'winning' World War Two. For fighting two expansionist powers while promulgating their own expansionism...and for being the only country in world history to use nuclear weapons in anger. We're learning...but slowly.
I wonder if the man in the White House likes this version.
He's too senile. Did you notice he stops talking when Kamela drinks water? Kinda like Hillary with Bill.
I would have josie sing at the San Francisco and the Arizona cardinals in Mexico city, the USA national anthem
For the life of me I can’t see why this caused such “Outrage?”
Uppity white, middle-class '60s people. Unfortunately, this country didn't learn much. But José earned this glory. Bravo!
If he was booed for it in 1968 what happened to his later hit Feliz Navidad?
It's still extremely popular today. It's one of my Top Five Christmas songs of all time. Wherever I am, if I hear it playing, I belt out the "WA-HAA!!!" just like I did when I first heard it in 1970 at age four. José is the best.
For me, José kinda sounds like Biden.
After being treated so badly in 1968, Jose graciously exclaimed "I love you Detroit". That is true class. He is a gentleman.
