Love the bridge and it will benefit Killaloe massively. The current bridge has been out of date for decades. Can’t help but think, sitting here in the north west, that we’re being left behind again. Listowel gets a bypass, Killaloe gets a lovely bridge and Foynes gets a railway. Carrick-On-Shannon is probably a decade from a badly needed bypass and is a 40 minute holdup in either direction on a National Primary Route.
You should have a visit to Inishannon ! Badly needed bypass bridge for well over a decade. Too much was spent in Dublin and it's only in the last few years that money is slowly being fed out around the country. It IS happening but needs to happen quicker.
@ It IS happening in your part of the country. It’s most definitely not happening in the north west. The north west of Ireland has been ranked 218th out of 234 regions in the European Commission’s Regional Competitiveness Index with regards to infrastructure. Despite accounting for 17.6% of Ireland’s population, it received just 5.7% of investment in infrastructure for projects costing over €20 million. The EU has downgraded the north west from “developing” to a “lagging region” and cited poor transport links as the reason. Not that the region isn’t productive and therefore didn’t get transport links as some would have it. But that its productivity has been curtailed by not being provided with transport links in the same or comparable ways other regions have. The hind teat is the phrase that springs to mind.
Great update. Also goes without saying great flying, filming and editing too which makes it a pleasure to watch. Road looks plenty wide for two trucks to pass as well as a safe path for people to walk.
Went under the bridge on 11 October last with 2 other boats on our way to Askeaton on the Shannon Estuary. At 0800 it was foggy but the bridge workers waved us through!
Great detail again on this video, well done. Nice bridge...
Good looking bridge. Well designed for the area.
Nice video .thanks for posting update .Great when bridge will be opened no more waiting for traffic lights to change .
Sitting whilst waiting for them to counting down from 500 is a total head melt
Beautiful video of a much needed and long overdue piece of infrastructure. Thanks again Dronehawk!

That is a very attractive bridge. Can't wait to use it and the bypass bit of it.
Brilliant footage and superb music. Fond memories of this area. Glad they are getting a new bridge.
Many thanks!
Very nice 😊 Needed for a very long time. Great footage 👍

Excellent camerawork
Another good one, thank you 👏👏
great video, one of the nicest bridges in ireland. Thanks for sharing
Great videos, the drones really get around 😅
Just up the road will see us grilling Irish lamb, beef, chicken and pork in the smoker or in the weber✍️🎉
The pedestrian sides are wider than the road
I'd reckon one half of each footpath will be a cycle lane
@dronehawk true 👍
They had to rebuild the slip roads on the bypass as made them too narrow. The must have forgot about lorries/tractors etc
Nice bridge. Its a pity the footpaths are wider than the road.
