    Thanks to our growing Patreon community, we are able to cover the cost of equipment rentals and Cypress Trees for our chateau garden renovation!
    Patreon funding goes directly toward renovating the historical Chateau de Lesigny!
    Special thanks to our dear Patrons: Jesse, Bernadette, Theo, and Morgan for your outstanding support of this Beau Chateau!
    You can help support our renovation projects by joining our Patreon Community and gain access to exclusive videos, updates and more!
    Join us, Daphne and Ian, as we embark on our new chateau renovation projects! This week, we made a different kind of video to answer a few questions we have received from viewers about chateau renovations. By using the combined understanding and experience of our chateau renovation, and that of several other chateau owners we know, we believe this video can give some insight for anyone who is interested in chateau renovating. If you have more questions, then please let us know in the comment section. Be sure to tune in next weekend for a special weekly upload with Francis, our family, and a little Christmas festivities in Paris!
    Our "beau chateau" (The 500-year-old, Chateau De Lesigny), is located near Paris, France. Most of the structures around the chateau domain need a full restoration, so we are investing everything we have into making the property thrive! We are learning more about french culture and developing new skills along the way!
    As a French/American UC Berkeley graduate in Agriculture (Daphne), and a U.S. Air Force Tactical Response Force Veteran/ Kinesiologist (Ian), we share a love for challenges and adventure. We have a long road ahead of us and we are excited to share the experience with you!
    You can support our renovation projects by joining our Patreon Community, where you can also gain access to exclusive videos and behind the scene access with Daphne and Ian! All patron funding is used to renovate this historical French Chateau. Every patron is paramount to our chateau renovations and we thank you all tremendously!

      Gospel of Jesus Christ John 3:16 For God So loved the world that he gave his only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not Perish but have Everlasting Life. Jesus Christ Died for the sin of the World, If you believe in ur heart God risen Jesus from the dead and confess him with ur mouth to people you shall be saved. Jesus said I Am The only way to heaven there is no other way! Repent of urs sins (Repent means Change ur Mind turning away from sinful things and being truly sorry for it.) trust Jesus and give ur life to him He Loves you cares about you more than anyone ever will! we are saved By Grace Trough Faith!,this is sin: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 For all have sined and felt short of the Glory of God. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Romans 1:18‭-‬21‭, ‬23 KJV Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9‭-‬10 REPENT OR YOU WILL PERISH REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL GET RIGHT WITH GOD LORD JESUS CHRIST.

    I’ve asked my Habibi to buy us a Château in France. He said it was very expensive to maintain, and they needed a lot of work, not to mention the taxes are extremely high because of the acres of land that come with a Château. He said he'd rather we travel the world, which we have already started. And you two like acters and actresses just fit the life style. Bless your hearts:)

    Most of the château´s in France are bought by non French people and many of these castles are resold within a few years.
    You have to be very handy, you need a lot of help and you need a lot of money and it is very hard work, every day. !!
    Normally you need to improve the heating system or else you will be freezing in winter, and it is expensive.
    This is the reality of being a chatelaine !

    • @TheBeauChateau
      @TheBeauChateau  Рік тому +1

      You are absolutely right! The heati by has always been a difficult task for us. We recently had our chateau inspected for a government provided heating system to save on our current heating setup. Unfortunately it was not possible with our structure, so our heating is still too expensive for regular usage in the winter. 🥶

    You guys are so forthcoming and honest. Thank you for sharing so many intimate parts of your day to day. You both embody what contemporary stewardship of these places is. The grandiose lifestyle of the previous owners died in the 20s.
    At the beginning of this series you mention that sometimes the right choice is the hard choice. I find it a thing of providence that you studied about sustainable culivation and that your respective fathers' professions were house painting and stone masonry. Owning a chateau of this magnitude is a lifetime of learning in restoration, management, hospiality, production, gardening, archiving, etc.
    This Grande Damme of a chateau had been waiting for you both to arrive.

    Have you thought of a wood heating system like the pethericks have, they have a chateau, and the wood usage is from there own woodland, only initial outlay.
    And your manpower cutting your sustainable forst down. You will need to also replant quick growing trees that you can use in 15 years..
    Good luck. 👍

    Hi I am a new subscriber. Love your channel. I am a real estate agent. I use a FLIR to find heat leaks. A huge savings was thermal curtains. The brand name is SUNZERO. Level 4 cut the bill in half and that was just putting the curtains on the sunny side of the home. They look like heavy satin and come in many colors. We got lucky and they were and exact match for the decor. $10 - $15 per panel, reasonable pricing.

    • @TheBeauChateau
      @TheBeauChateau  Рік тому

    You talked about borrowing for renovations, but it's worth also mentioning that it is very difficult to get a mortgage to buy a chateaux. Lenders simply won't take the risk because of the cost of upkeep. It's one of the reasons why the price of a chateaux is often so low, they are seen as a liability rather than an asset.

    • @TheBeauChateau
