I think Ka’s closure would’ve been more accepted if the park were more transparent regarding its closure. A more advanced notice would’ve been nice for people to get their last rides in, and the reveal of what would be replacing it would give the park an idea of whether people would actually enjoy whatever is coming (please don’t be the Mack spinner tower). Regardless, Long Live the King 🐅
Wow, the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest amusement parks in the world. How are we going to celebrate this milestone? Why...tearing the park to pieces of course!!!
I wish I got to ride Kingda Ka. I was too scared to though 😂 I'll be watching these because I enjoy seeing the park evolve, just like when you did with jersey devil
I still think this is a mistake to not get Intamin to re imagine this thing. At the very least I want whatever this new launch coaster is gonna be to be an Intamin because it’s about fucking time cedar fair management gets over their disdain for intamin.
Holiday in the Park tickets are on Groupon this year ... which I was shocked about. Only $35, so if anyone doesn't have a season pass or anything, buy them there!
The fact that KA is closing and not being reimagined makes me very nervous for TT2. I really hope it’s just those structural issues with the train and not the magnets being nicked due to the wheel toe angle thing that Ryan the ride Mechanic talked about…😳
It’s going to get ugly when people keep showing pictures of the back half the park empty all year hopefully all the negative pr and lower attendance form Ka gets Cedar Fair sit the hell down and not ruin the entire chain. They own a lot of parks they could destroy the enthusiast hobby entirely.
Regarding Green Lantern, I agree that it could probably give many more years of good service to another park. It's 27 years old, but likely has a very low cycle count because stand up coasters usually have slow dispatches, and it only ever had 2 trains, despite being designed for 3. It also missed the entire 2010 season during relocation. I don't think any B&M of that size has been relocated twice, but it could probably be given to a lower tier park as a floorless, and be one of their best rides. Take Valleyfair for instance. They don't have a B&M, and their only looping coaster is their corkscrew, so it would be a great fit there.
On the thumbnail, the right image, those brackets were always there and are part of the launch system. Notice how they are painted blue, when was the last time Ka was painted???
From different videos and comments I feel king da ka would have gotten a proper send off but the was structural issues with the tower. Not sure but makes sense with the immediate closure. Who knows. All speculation.
22:48 you would've also had Rolling Thunder. I'm hoping Green Lantern would be relocated to my home park, Darien Lake, it could use a nice converted floorless coaster with preferably vest restraints to make it as comfortable as possible.
I'm disappointed, I went to SFGA back in 2021 and was planning on riding it after El Toro, but I got a headache and skipped out on it thinking I would end up going the year after. I haven't been back since and I regret my choice of not riding it when I had the chance to.
I know that the tower is most likely coming down but Zumanjaro wasn’t very popular I heard that it was having problems with a structures of zumanjaro. I think even if they did a reimagining on Ka I think zumanjaro will not stay.
It's unfortunate that it's getting offed. Just wish the management gave a bigger heads up so more people could have gotten their last rides. I intended on returning to Great Adventure next year, but will be skipping it entirely. They better hope the successor is worthy.
I don’t blame you…. If I didn’t make these videos, I would still probably visit the park next year, but nowhere near as much as I usually do. Even with flash, I believe attendance will drop next year as it should….
Lightning loops rolling thunder ultra twister the bobsled the haunted house the boat log flume the boat that made the giant wave free fall the stunt show looney toons land the old time cars the giant teepee the rotor the enterprise Batman and robin the original swings the all American scream machine aqua theater now Kingda Ka the park was better growing up the small Ferris wheel to the Batman stunt show omg so much is gone so many memories
There were a few summer public or not…. There were some cable snaps The biggest one though was about three weeks after initially opened in 2005 one of the trains was completely destroyed and and a bunch of launch track had to be repaired and some had to be replaced.
I don't think Cedar Fair has yet to realize the gravity of their mistake of deciding to remove Kingda Ka completely... Hard to believe that a reimagining of the ride wasn't the better option as it would be a able to re-claim the records for height and speed. I wonder if Zamperla hadn't screwed up so hard with TT2 if things would have turned out differently.
I go to Six Flags for the first time in my life for Fright Fest 11/1/24 at 27 years old Only 80 minutes away from it and Kingda Ka is done I never got my chance 💔
Six flags Great Adventure will feel like a post apocalyptic world next season like what's the point of even going, in my opinion no need for price of admission the price paid will be having to see the skyline without kingda ka (if the top hat actually comes down and is not re used for the replacement)
Glad someone else is saying this. While it might get removed it could still get reimagined and all they have said is completely new for 2026 which means NOTHING. Top thrill was completely new and even Medusa/ bizzaro was when it was re themed. Again I’m not saying it will or won’t get reimagined but it’s foolish to say it’s 100% being removed
Funny that’s what everyone said to me when I was the first one to post about it closing…. It is not being reimagined. It is coming down most likely with explosions before opening day.
@@Usastrong1123 even if it were fall directly towards el toro…according to Google maps the base of Kingda ka and el toro is nearly 500 feet away from each other. However due to physics the tower is going to want fall towards the launch and 2nd hill which will all that will be removed prior to implosion. All the weight of the track hanging off the front of the tower and Zumanjaro is going to make it fall that way. I imagine for a demolition company that does implosions that this is an incredible easy job and way cheaper option opposed to renting a 500 foot crane and paying high steel workers.

Yup this has to be the worst 50th anniversary of any amusement park in history
I wish I got to ride Kingda Ka. I was too scared to though 😂

do you regret It???
I can’t believe it will never make that beautiful launch sound ever again

That pretty much the same as the gate price. Not really a deal through Groupon
I agree great adventure is going to be a shadow of what it once was
The fact that KA is closing and not being reimagined makes me very nervous for TT2. I really hope it’s just those structural issues with the train and not the magnets being nicked due to the wheel toe angle thing that Ryan the ride Mechanic talked about…😳
depends p[ark never said it wasnt yet also no mention of ka even being remove dthey said retired also no metnion of drop of doom either

22:57 Things to come hahahaha... indeed. Couldn't say it better myself
I think if the replacement isn’t taller, faster, and just as eye catching… I literally don’t want it, it’d be an insult.
Let’s be honest it won’t be any of those things
From different videos and comments I feel king da ka would have gotten a proper send off but the was structural issues with the tower. Not sure but makes sense with the immediate closure. Who knows. All speculation.
I was hoping the the new ride would reuse a lot of the supports from green lantern and Ka and also keep zoom.
22:48 you would've also had Rolling Thunder. I'm hoping Green Lantern would be relocated to my home park, Darien Lake, it could use a nice converted floorless coaster with preferably vest restraints to make it as comfortable as possible.
I am going to mention it in Saturday’s video, but I have pretty much gotten confirmation that it will be scrapped 😥
@@TheCoasterSpotthis would make only 3 B&M coasters to ever be scrapped…. Actually maybe only 2 depending on how you count Dragons Challenge
Getting rid of kingda ka and lantern is going to hurt their attendance
There wrecking the park there’s no more rides there anymore six flags 70 s 80 s 90s early 2000s insane it’s a shell of a park now

Yeah very few care about the drop tower attached to it. This replacement better dominate the skyline and be good
I know last year or the year before the middle gondola kept getting stuck at the top a lot. I saw it at least one time every time I went weekly
Yeah I was up there one of those times, comparable to a rollback just way more terrifying
nice
Thank you

I really hope they loose money from this and suffer from it, maybe it’ll open their eyes to what they done but probably not

Hey i love amusemant parks. How many parks have you guys visited?
The app that I use to track all the roller coasters I’ve ridden says I’ve been to 403 parks.
@@TheCoasterSpot wow that's a lot of parks to go too my favorite park to go to was Playland's Castaway Cove in Ocean City New Jersey.
3 popular parks😢😢😢😢😢 with being young
One thing is for sure parachute is definitely getting blown up.
They won’t be able to blow it up. This isn’t Texas, there is absolutely nowhere it would be able to fall without destroying something.
We'll see about that.
I think New Jersey maintenance laws make it a real red tape hassle to really resolve the issues needed to be dealt with.

Forgpt Viper!
What catastrophic failure did king da ka ever have ? I was confused by that

I honestly think they closed Ka just so TT2 can be the only Strata coaster and receive the records again.

Well thats ur fault lolz
@ not really
There’s a chance Kingda Ka gets moved to Fun Spot Atlanta
😂
Yeah right 😂😂
This is what we call the dark times. Not reimagining Ka makes no sense to me since they’re putting a strata launch coaster in its place anyway
I really hope it’s not that stupid Mack shuttle spinner
they didn't because top thrill 2 was a failure. i would to see this at great adventure but sadly its not happening
@ Yeah but this wouldn’t be done by Zamperla.
